Bilshana Senki ~Genpei Hika Musou~ - Review

Genre: Otome visual novel.
Developer/publisher: Otomat/RED.
Platform: Nintendo Switch.
Official Site: https://www.otomate.jp/birushana/
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v22987
Release date: 2020-09-17

Bilshana or Birushana senki is an otome game set in the heian period's genpei war, since
I got nostalgic and remember a little of the time period thanks to harutoki 3 I decided to get it.
Also this game has a character voiced by Fukuyama Jun whom I don't hear a lot in
these days (I say as I just found out he apparently voiced a main char in Bustafellows).
That aside most of the main characters looked attractive one, of the love interest here
was a npc I disliked in harutoki 3 so there is a little bit of bias going in.
Also since this is another historic otome game its probably not for everyone.

Pro's
- Decent story, long but pacing alright.
- Heroine is capable and also head-strong.
- Fun cast of characters.
- Art is beautiful, even side characters got sprites.
- Music is fitting, OP and ED theme is nice.

Con's
- Lot's of common scenes throughout.
- Decent amount of bad ends, confusing system.
 - screen dimming / switch going standby on automode.
- Random crash after returning to the main menu and opening flowchart.

The heroine of this game is Shana-ou, otherwise known as Minamoto no Yoshitsune
for the majority of the game she has to pretend to be a guy.
Knowing otomate this can go both ways but I had hope she would be both awesome and cute
wasn't disappointed she was pretty badass, also very stubborn!
Shana also has some weird power which makes her become a demon on the battlefield....

The pacing was alright, its not too slow and not too fast either and it being
a historic fantasy it did get a bit boring, I was instantly reminded
by jyuza engi 1 with the amount of old dudes speaking, most of the other
characters were fun though tomomori became like a joke for me.πŸ˜…
Unlike Dairoku side characters do have sprites here, look at all those handsome monks and ossans!
i'm not kidding I do think one of the ossan's looked handsome oh otomate what have you done.😱

I ended up on Benkei's route on my first play, I wasn't aiming for him at all but i'm kinda
glad I did get on his route because he was likeable and supportive.
Just doing one route will not answer all of your plot related questions so that's good!
I mean give me that incentive to do the other routes! they didn't make them too irrelevant.
In terms of plot revelations I think the route system was a lot like Hyakka hyakurou/Nightshade...
Most characters are not that interesting outside of their route their problems
are relatively self-contained within the routes especially Noritsune.
In terms of plot relevance I would recommend something like this:
Noritsune > Yoritomo / Shungen > Benkei > Tomomori.
I do think it can be done in no particular order except Tomomori as last
since his route ties up the loose ends most other routes hint at.
I think my own play order worked out pretty well so here it is for comparison!
Benkei > Yoritomo > Shungen  > Noritsune > Tomomori.

Also I tried to play this without a guide but I just hit some bad end which wasn't near the beginning.
Can't say I recommend to play this without a guideπŸ˜… there's a chance you hit an
abrupt bad end, the system is strangely complicated there's the usual affection and then
there's three other gauges as well i'm not even gonna go into that. Its better to look up a guide
if you don't understand it, but other than that it was pretty standard stuff.

Other than that, the story was interesting enough but its a bit on the long side?
Most of the characters were likable, like Hana Oboro certain side characters
got a special what if episodes as well which actually made characters like Takatsuna
and Shigehira more likable so that was nice.
I could make jokes about the characters which at the end of the day
might have helped getting me to like them more cough tomomori cough.
Romance interests are varied, some routes could be a hit or miss but you can't like everything.
Benkei was surprisingly likeable but he's not really my type as he ends up being
more of a dad than anything else his route was also weak in terms of plot so that didn't help.
Yoritomo was harder to like because I couldn't read him but the story really delivered for him
I think the only route I had trouble to enjoy was Shungen........I do not know if it
is because I did Yoritomo first since it made things more confusing that it had to be.

I think my only complaints are how... the skip was kinda slow
but there is a skip to the next choice I assume was via the flowchart
though I didn't mind iddling for a few minutes so its not that bad.
Really I don't have many complaints... war bits might be boring and/or repettive I guess?

I had a lot of fun playing through Bilshana the war parts did make me sleepy
atleast the characters were all attractive and there was drive to do all of them, this also
wasn't a game of trying to make everyone happy at the same time which was a good thing
because I dislike it when they sugar coat things too much in these type of games.
The story was generally the same in most of the routes, there was enough
going on with the characters (drama etc) that give different view points nothing was
exactly the same in all the routes even if its limited by the scenario which can be repettive.
There was also a bit of comedy to things sometimes but it doesn't
overstay its welcome as it knows when to be serious and when not.
Another good thing because it would be too dry with all the war stuff. πŸ˜…

For its genre I thought it was an alright otome game and I can recommend
if a fan of historic fantasy and enjoy to explore such a setting with a mostly likable cast!
and don't mind deaths, since its long its also a good way to pass the time but if you're not
into history and war stuff then it could be an easy pass.
8/10

End of non-spoiler section.

I tried to summarize but i'm sure I TL;DR too much.

 Musashibou Benkei.
CV: Umehara Yuuichirou.
My good pal Benkei.
Benkei's known to be very supportive towards Yoshitsune
unlike harutoki 3 in Bilshana he's much more buff and manly.....
eventually Benkei swears loyalty to Shana and he's such a sweetheart who wouldn't
want a husband like him??? umehara's acting is πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ that aside this route
included being tormented by Tomomori.πŸ˜… Tsugunobu and Tadanobu end up supporting
Shana's cause as they go to Hiraizumi to meet Yasuhira and his father. They end up looking
after some kids and treating their injury... daddy Benkei is too good for this world too pure.
I say that because he gives Shana a piggy back ride on his shoulders..........
he's also such a worry wart to the point its cute. I want to stop the dad jokes buuut
I really do see him as a dad! add fuel to the fire that the smiles of others give him so much joy.
He's so mature how is he still single? oh wait he's a monk.πŸ˜“
Everything was pretty relaxed, Kiyomori's clan is plotting something but we get to enjoy
some quality time under the starry skies like a calm before the storm since it ain't
before long the genji want to wipe out the taira's. Shana's brother yoritomo summons her
to a war meeting nothing good could come from this.... well they plan a fire attack on
one of the taira's camps but Shigehira shows up with an archer squad to deal with it.
Benkei keeps him busy and Shana loses control of herself and ends up knocking out Shigehira
everyone refers to Shana as a monster with inhuman strength, Benkei is forced to try and stop her.
Benkei collapses as she regained her senses he's not dead yet but Shana can't help
but scream at what a mess this has become. Benkei gets bullied by the brothers as he recovers.πŸ˜…
Time for father to go back to bed.
Watching Shana take care of this bear just makes me wish it was official already. /sigh
Shigehira shows up and sets the place on fire because apparently he has as much lives as a cat
jokes aside he is supposed to bring Shana back to his brother and he unfortunately succeeds
now Tomomori is tormenting us again. Going as far as to make her question her lineage
no he just wants to see those beautiful tears of her.πŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“ Benkei is getting fired up and wants
to rescue her Shungen has to calm him down to wait for a better chance. MEANWHILE
Tomomori is trying to NTR Shana I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS ROUTE
as it turns out he's pretty much a sadist who thrives on a womans tears
and finding out that she has a similar power just makes him want her more.
SOMEHOW Shana manages to make him lose his guard and gain the upperhand to run.
Pretty sure the whole thing w/ Tomomori traumatized Shana so shortly after she got back
she ran off to a river and Benkei be like come back here but Shana realizes how different
she is and is ashamed of herself. Benkei pleads her to not do anything rash
he swears to protect Shana and helps her hone her mysterious power so she
doesn't lose control of herself and they train--- (Oh god I TL;DR that badly did I?)
I love my dad...
---which leads to the eventual battle against the heike, on the way Shigehira shows up
but Shana manages to kick his ass after Benkei supports her when she almost loses it.
They press on and meet Tomomori who just wants Shana all to himself as his waifu not going
to lie but Tomomori was really horny. Benkei be like back up and get away from my daughter
also telling Shana not to listen to the evil horny man who had to retreat shortly after.πŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“
Sickness must be purged.
When they get back Benkei gets like super soft and as he fall asleep calls her his princess.
Before the last battle Benkei talks to Shana and wants to live with her, I swear
this man makes me soft?! Shana's more than happy to take the offer.
Also apparently Shigehira is a cockroach who just won't die when he was supposed to...
and at dan no ura the brothers get to torment Shana some more, Shigehira turns
into a snekzombie because he tried to absorb Shana's power or whatever
either way the fight was extremely dragged out which made me sleepy either way
the reason Shigehira kept coming back was because of the weird power healing injuries
but it means taking someone elses life force or something like that.
This is because he devoured taira no tokuko which had an odd side effect...
That aside the way Shigezombie and Tomohorny went out was sad though
overall I thought this last chapter was kinda lacking but fitting way to end it.
The epilogue is them finally getting the peaceful life they deserve.

.
Tragic end: Shana saps energy from Benkei and recklessly charges at Shigezombi
whom she manages to defeat with ease, Tomomori tries to match up with her uh briliance.
Shana outmatches him as well, he called her a goddess among other things before falling into the sea...
Just as she is about to have a wholesome time with Benkei Shigezombie comes back
because he just won't die! and tries to uh eat Shana, Benkei is like no you don't
and so the man she loves and loves her back throws her onto another ship while sacrificing
himself to make sure the snake sinks with him to the bottom of the sea.😭😭😭
Bad end 1: Benkei dies protecting Shana during a fight against Shigehira.😭
Bad end 2: Tomomori saw through her attempt to throw him off balance
and shows her how to do it properly himself by brainwashing of course. Tomohorny gets to enjoy
the tears afterwards because after all she belongs to him now, there was a mini epilogue scene after they
managed to win the war, because ''his wife'' was with them. Why thank you otomate for this NTR end.
Bad end 3: When she first meets Benkei she says she is no one and well Shungen gets
overwhelmed by the Heike and uhm for lack of better words the mooks teach Shana a lesson.
Bad end 4: Not willing to come to agreement with the monks, as they rest the place gets set
on fire by tomohorny and he came to get her even if it means she is kicking and screaming.😱
Tadanobu end: TL;DR he found out Yoshitsune was a woman and as surprised
as he was it doesn't change much but he'll be supporting her no butts about it!
it was pretty cute but not much substance to it, its a nice little story.
Benkei's route was alright, probably not a route that will give you definite answers
to all of the plot, the last battle put me to sleep as well it did drop hints
but nothing concrete, this was more or less a healing route.
That aside i'm surprised by how much I ended up liking this dad
as he's truly too good for this world.  Romantically I can't really see it
doesn't mean its not there buuut he's just such a good dad and I cry about this fact
but again there really wasn't much that stood out about the route.
Also this route may have given me a hate-boner for Tomomori.
Romance  ★★★☆☆ (Well... he was very sweet and devoted)
Plot  ★★★☆☆ (It was well rounded but doesn't answer all questions.)
Overall  ★★★☆☆ (Pretty solid if you'd ask me.)

Minamoto no Yoritomo.
CV: Furukawa Makoto.
Ah yes the protagonist brother who according to history tried to kill Yoshitsune, lovely.
Since my body and mind were unwilling to be tormented by Tomohorny and Yoritomo
didn't have much of a presence in the previous route I decided to do this route next.
That doesn't stop Tomohorny from tormenting and chasing Shana... but he let's her get away
while teasing her UGH I cannot decide if they want me to like or hate him
and at this point I don't even have an opinion of Yoritomo yet because he's not present
Shana does spend a lot of time pondering about her brother, what Tomohorny said
and how she fits in all this. If anything at all I found Yoritomo intimidating...
there's a lot of anxiety between the two which makes it really complicated.
Shana just wants to help her brother by joining the war in her own way, we also
get to hear the meaning of her name as its someone who shines brightly.
I like how Shana hasn't had a single normal conversation with her brother at all
Benkei and Shungen are all okay with her deciding to join in the war.
Yoritomo got ambushed by heike troops and manages to barely fight them off
with a little help of his squadron who just plead him to run.
Shana arrives just in time to save the heroine.... he was surprised but still acts cold and distant
even when he almost collapses he's like I'M FINE. NO YOU'RE NOT.😠😠😠
Shana takes care of him when they get back... before he is like this'll do and walks off
but Shana follows him despite being told not to. Sigh... I miss daddy Benkei.
He looks so dead inside...
Not much really happens other than helping onii-sama get back into shape
before they plan the next campaign against the heike.
After Shana kicked Shigehira's ass... Yoritomo just looks at her
like he finally accepts her? but I can't tell what he is thinking.
Yoritomo wonders since things are starting to get awkward if she's afraid of him but Shana
is just literally crushing on Yoritomo making him be all like what do you really want?
Yoritomo starts to wonder about her power and how she doesn't want him to die.
Even her friends wonder what it is she even wants, to ease her fears she decides to give
Yoritomo a good luck charm so that they're connected. It is here he realizes
she looks like a woman, Shana was like ahaha surely you jest?!
Later Yoritomo formally asks her to do a favor regarding Yoshinaka -his cousin and rival
he wanted her to kick his ass.  One night before the battle Yoritomo does ask her if she is okay
WOW AN IMPROVEMENT to no ones surprise Shana owns the shit out of everyone in said battle
and they manage to get the info they wanted too. Yoritomo forces Shana's ass on a horse so
she could get some rest. That's sweet does he have to be so curt about it? :/
Rumors of ''Yoshitsune'' eliminating a certain ass reaches Heike ears
which pretty much lights a small fire under their asses.
There was a funny scene where Shana wanted a minute of Tadanobu's time
to find out about loneliness but since he's so loud and almost yells it out
how this is about Yoritomo so she had to choke him for a hot minute.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Apparently when Yoritomo found out how lonely she was he followed
her into the forest and basically tells her everything he does is his duty, a reason for living
doesn't want to lose another human being he loves. Shana basically tells him
her honest feelings of how much she respects him but this tender scene
gets interupted by Shigehira who knows no tact as per usual. Shana gets knocked out
and Yoritomo can't believe what he sees while Shigehira skedaddles off.
Yoritomo tries to tend to her wounds but then notices his brother is a sister.
He literally dropped her off at a monk's place to recover..........  Shana is like
i'm going to show him my devotion! this doesn't change much for Yoritomo (yet)
and she continues to ganbarimasu, he atleast acknowledged her as a sister.
Apparently yoritomo finds some maid who turns out to be tokiwa gozen
who knows the truth of Shana but was not allowed to speak of it. So this Ike no Zenni turns out
to be Shana's mother but they had to send her awaywhich is how she came to live with
Shungen in the mountains.Yoritomo is reminded about something when he was young, someone
of the taira pleaded to put an end to kiyomori's cursed bloodline, he was pretty young
and didn't fully understand nor the strength, someone created an ally for him
who will appear when the time is right. Yoritomo tries to put 1 and 2 together
and figures its Shana. He goes for a walk and figures that they're not related by blood
and no reason to act so cold anymore either. While wandering he runs into Shana, he finally
opens up, telling her how he looked up to his brothers the very brothers that he killed.
He had to because else they'd die a dishonorable death after being captured so they
told Yoritomo to kill them and carry on the fight, to do his duty.
At this point i'm like MAN... give this man a break. Shana hugs him but he is all like I can't!
and curses at himself how this is all punishment before his hands finally embrace another person.
He is no longer alone... he can care about someone again. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
The scene cut to the taira after this and I was immediately like its time for a break.
Shigehira was like disappointed he couldn't make sure Shana was dead but Tomomori
just saw it as another opportunity THIS SADIST I SWEAR.
Story slowly goes on as the gang travels to their next destination I liked
how they let us relax with something light-hearted after all the heavy past stuff
Yoritomo also starts to lighten up around Shana, they make a promise to make it through
the coming battle and thwart some heike butt even if they have to part ways for now.
Shigehira was waiting for her... who is going all out with her, Benkei and the others
watch her back, Yoritomo is waiting for her at the meet up point but Tomomori decides
to keep him occupied till Shana literally blazes through the field towards them, idk
I couldn't describe this any other way. Shana fights Tomohorny who really
waited for this, he tries to whisper some truths in her ears and how fighting like this suits her
but then notes how she's at her limit who then collapses. Shana doesn't remember much
about what happened when she fought and killed or how she ran like sonic down the mountian.
Good thing the others followed her and Yoritomo readied an archer squadron.
Tomohorny grabs some poor soldier and chokes him making other soldiers flee then decides
the next one is Shana... he tries to do some kinky shit that made her lose herself
but Yoritomo interrupts him, Tomohorny taunts Shana but Yoritomo is like eyes up here!
Tomohorny calls Shana their princess which makes everything even more obvious
going as far as saying how they're not related angering Yoritomo.
Shana can't take anymore of this shit and goes saiyan again, unfortunatly
Tomohorny gets away but promises to settle it next time, Shana passes out as well.
The troops start to gossip how Yoshitune is a monster only to be jelled at by tadanobu.....
the others don't want her to use the power but that will be troublesome.
THEY ALL WORRY SO MUCH...!  maybe this is a good thing.
Things get a bit randy between Yoritomo and Shana but hey it feels good it also
helps Shana's power in some way idk how to eplain. Its not like they're related
by blood, he doesn't see her as a sister anymore either. 😚
As they travel the soldiers start freaking out about Shana/Yoshitsune again...
Kagetoki starts to say something will have to be done but they need Yoshitsune's strength
right now but there's the fact she is not really Yoritomo's brother so after its over she might be next.
Shana thinks about it and tries to hone her power the others all worry so much i'm like pls
when she shows up at the camp Yoritomo wants ask if she will return to his side
when its all over because it seems like Shana is willing to die so he forces her
to really look at him and he tells her how much he's hurting at the possibility
of her never coming back even though a while ago he wouldn't have.
πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜ she's the one who made him want to live again
so he won't allow her to die he wants her to come back alive, to be with him.
Shana faces tomohorny at Dan no Ura who's more than happy with this...😫😫😫
she even tries to tell him the truth how she's a tool to bring the taira to their knees
he just laughs it off, saying he doesn't mind this at all even if it means they're blood related
the fight was cool but I was like, how long long are they gonna exchange blows?
it goes on for so long that the genji gain the upperhand..... the soldiers
are actually trying to help Yoshitsune now after remembering all she did
and Yoritomo gets to help Shana finish off Tomomori who fell into the sea
and the remaining Taira flee/commit suicide, in the epilogue Shana ends up revealing her
true identity as a woman and Yoritomo's wife most were surprised but don't mind this at all.
Yoritomo gets randy at night and just wants her all to himself.😚
He also tells that he doesn't hate her as a sister and that they'll be a real family this time.
Tragic end: Tomomori ends up injuring Yoshitsune before dying, she survives
but lost her sight and Yoritomo blames himself for it but he'll do his best.
Bad end 1:if affection and parameters are low Yoritomo ends up
dying when Shigehira interrupts their talk at night, Shana pretty much breaks down and after
Shigehira is done playing messing her he takes her back with him.
Bad end 2: With low affection and parameter, during the part where Shana runs like sonic
down the mountain Tomomori manages to kill her because its just not good enough, sicko.
Sasaki Takatsuna end: He's loyal to Yoritomo, in all honesty I think he's a nice side character
but thing thing is he doesnt have much presence that aside I think this little episode was nice though!
he tried to get Shana and Yoritomo to get along more but Takatsuna ends up spending
more time together with Shana and he got hurt in her stead when a horse panicked.
He thinks she got hurt in the chest so he has to check up on her... even if she's like its fine
but he figures she's hiding something. So then he figures NO WAY are you a chick!? 😫😫😫
Takatsuna doesn't mind either way and he'll promise to keep her secret.
After a battle he checks up to see if she's alright... he doesn't really understand her situation
but she did protect Yoritomo and tells her to take pride in that he tells her to get better soon
but also notices how he himself feels a little flustered. He takes her along on a trip to town
asking if she'd want anything to tell him. They spend the entire day and run into Kagetoki
in the afternoon who is like you are still here?! Takatsune tells him to buzz off
since he started to think bad of Shana, Kagetoki is like whatever do whatever u want.
Takatsune wonders if he did a good job protecting her and wants her to rely on him more.
He gives her a peck on the cheek too, ok that was cute.
I really liked the route in terms of plot, it was good more engaging in terms of reveals
though not sure if i'd recommend it for a first play since it reveals quite a lot.
This was a very slow route for both romance and plot but it came together well enough!
It was pretty awkward but obvious Shana was crushing on him hard not in the usual way but still.
At first Yoritomo was hard to like he was way too intimidating and curt
not to mention cold and distant but he ended up being incredible sweet when the ice cracked.
I joked about how he was at first but considering what he had to do, yeah same...
Despite being a kuudere he really grew on me, i'm glad because lately the trope was a bust for me
never even expected to like him, the ending was absolutely perfect this might be my fav route.
Romance  ★★★★☆ (Its painful but good)
Plot  ★★★★☆ (It was pretty well written)
 Overall  ★★★★☆

Shungen.
CV:Saito Souma.
Basically me @ this entire route.
Shana's childhood friend, he's been watching over her since
they were children he is really serious about his duty of protecting her.πŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“
This route had less fighting stuff still there but not focus as
it focused more on Shana's past and why she's been living with Shungen.
The common route took a slightly different path as we eaves drop on someones mom
who turns out to be tokiwa no gozen they run into Tomohorny and Shigehira but are easily
able to escape which just amuses the former. Noritsune is too busy picking a fight with Benkei...
and they just had to interrupt them. They escape and while Shungen carries Shana on his back
he explains everything to Benkei how they tried locating Shana's mom. It is here there
are notable differences tho somethings never change such as the taira still want to capture
Shana, Noritsune got bullied by Shigehira.... Tomomori had to tell him he went too far
oh my look who is he's being sensible! Either way Noritsune is feeling like crap and Shungen
is rather determined to take care of Shana as they try locating her mother.
Shigehira finds them again and suspects said mother for being in league with the genji
and tries to execute her Shana objects to this. After she drives him off, the mother runs off but
doesn't want anything to do with Shana, she can only be like why?! as they try to ensure her safety.
Her mom doesn't seem to want to associate with her so they leave, Shungen can't bear seeing
her sad so he tries to cheer her up and tells her to go to Hiraizumi with him, Shana is basically
very uncertain about the mother, her own power so Shungen helps to carry her burdens.
It might be just me but seeing her meet Yoritomo again was more tense than before......
Shana decides to not play much of a part in the war, Shungen even hints at how he feels
something is off as in the ties with her brother and he couldn't be further from the truth.
The two travel through the mountains just like the old days... untill they reunite with Benkei
who is way too happy to see his daughter again. Shungen lashes out saying he's not a lapdog
but he doesn't mind following Shana around.πŸ˜… Either way thanks to Yasuhira
they consider to stick around and help though Yasuhira points out Shana is out of shape
and he blames Shungen for it, Shungen however will do whatever Shana wants
if that's living quietly or joining in the fight he'll be there to support
but recently as he started to watch her he started to become afraid of not being able to
but Shana just tells him it'll be alright, they end up making a promise to live through this
he'll keep her secret of having ties with the heike and be her sword and shield in the war.
Shungen ends up helping as a strategist, going better than expected Yoritomo compliments him
for it and wants him to continue his good work Shana did her part as well.
Shungen apparently has a weird skill that makes him able to change the ''ki''
which is actually super helpful and why the battles go smoother.
Either that or I wasn't paying attention and i'm talking out of my ass.
Yoritomo is giving me bad vibes because he was never around this much and he is
interested in Shungen i'm getting scared he's trying to NTR.
Inbetween meetings Shana ends up teasing him by tickling going so far and push him down....
making it seems as if Shungen is the heroine now.πŸ˜• Gonna admit this was cute but eeeeh.
Yoritomo is also getting interested in the past of Shana and Shungen whom
had been living in the mountains with his family then one day during a meeting
Yoritomo casually blurts out Yoshitune you're going to be a woman
and have her infiltrate some utage and get closer to Yoshinaka.
Shungen offers to do it instead because he looks feminine enough...
Yoritomo is like whoever does it I don't care, just do it.
Either way they end up doing it, Shungen said Shana looked especially gorgeous
as she finally doesn't need to hide her gender like she always does.
At the party some letch did get their eyes on Shana  but they both did their best so it didn't escalate.
Ater that they have another war campaign and Shana could let out some of that frustration
on Yoshinaka but after cornering him Yoritomo ended up kill stealing.😫😫😫
Yoritomo is still watching them like a hawk and does start to notice things
how the brother has become a sister or better put she has become more womanly.
Yoritomo corners her and tries to get her to tell the truth but Shungen is like back up bro
i'll handle this, he leaves and then Shungen kabedons her to tell her this fact himself
she's completely dropped her guard around people and she should be careful.
When they head back they end up running into Tokiwa gozen, Yoritomo
figures this is about Shungen and he forces her to spill it all and that to put it bluntly she had
another kid before she was Kiyomori's concubine, Shigenari fled into the mountains with his son
Shana starts to angst how she has no one left, no mother or brother but Shungen snaps her out of it.
Yoritomo be like is that all? Shana doesn't get it anymore while Gozen asks for forgiveness....
Its not all of it but Yoritomo's route reveals another part of things but part of me thinks
this route just makes it unnecesarily confusing we already knew Shana is not related to Yoritomo
but now we learn she's also not Gozen's child?! wait wut... ?!  did I not pay attention.
The war continues but Shana is depressed, daddy benkei notices her mind is absent
even Shungen is like right now i'll only hurt her but Tadanobu encourages him
when Shana has a fever he finally can't bear it anymore seeing her keep it in.
Being with her means everything to him every since they were kids
and reaffirms that its okay to be who she is regardless of her origin
the only thing he wants is to be with her and protect her, this cheers Shana up.
After she fell asleep he realizes she's no longer a childhood friend but a girl he likes....
When Shana wakes up she gets to see his sleeping face, aww.
There was a whole lot of TL;DR war talk, Shungen's plan was a bit risky
but for Shana he'll do anything no matter what.
After the battle they have another talk and its clear that Shungen is Yoritomo's real brother
but the one Shungen considers his real relative is Shana. Shungen also
confesses his feelings for her with a peck on the cheek, Shana returns his feelings
but honestly I am not sure when exactly she fell in love with him but eh when you have
such a devoted man giving it his all who wouldn't return it.
After this things get a bit weird because apparently even the government official now knows
Shana is a woman now because its so obvious.... they don't even want her to hide it.πŸ˜•
Its also not a problem since thanks to Shungen since they've helped out so much after all!
Some time passes  Shana ends up getting taken by some noble.......... after Shungen
figures he might need her for the battle Shungen panics and searches for her.
The government is basically just using Shungen  for his strategies at this point... even blackmailin
him so nothing unfortunate happens to the person he likes, they eventually let him see Shana
and he's relieved but then he suddenly shows his true colours, Shungen doesn't want
anyone else to have her when she's so womanly like this and wants her
to come with him in the common battle i'm like ok my dude anything at this point!
and he says how he'll kill Yoritomo during Dan no Ura (oh wow we backstabbing now?)
so they can elope together after everything is over... what's up with him all of a sudden?!
but good to know he's finally showing how possessive he is. πŸ˜‘
They make it through the fighting and grab some magatama from the heike to ensure victory
but then Yoritomo just fires a bunch of arrows at them and i'm like U wut m8?
Apparently its some heirloom for the government and they have to die
so now they have to fight for their freedom but its all in vain but they get both knocked
out and sink into the sea...... WAIT IS THIS A GOOD END?!
Apparently the blows they took were not fatal and they wash up ashore somewhere
because he knew he couldn't win with the government so he had Yoritomo help them fake death
and had him not tell anyone, and he did like a true brother. Oh well either way they get to enjoy
their new life together, free from war and politics... not sure to be happy or sad. πŸ˜“
In the tragic end: Shana gets shot by arrows, Shungen takes a blow from Yoritomo
and they fall into the sea..... he still survives but Shana lies lifeless before him.
He snaps amd starts blaming everyone for this outcome especially Yoritomo...
so he comes to the realization that the genji are all at fault.
As he holds her lifeless body he swears to get revenge......... for her sake, as from this
point onward it will be his only reason to live and hopes she'll be watching his crusade.😱😱😱
Tsugunobu end: Tsugunobu can't bear to watch her being so uncertain so he tries to support her.
He's a bit of a flirt, I liked their casual talk under the moonlight. During a battle
Tsugunobu ends up hurt protecting her afterwards he tells her he's been crushing on her hard
and tells her not to be sad, this scar is proof of him protecting her.
That was nice and all, like Tsugunobu its quite open ended...
OMG forgive me I ended up spelling his name wrong and mixed it up with his brother...
wtf is a tadatsugu?! is this what you get when you mix them both into one. I think my brain was mush.
I like him more than Shungen.
Hmm... Shungen was very sweet but WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS?!
to add fuel to the fire the route felt longer because they had to write things differently.
Though its nice if you got tired in certain routes as it has some unpredictable events.
The route more or less focused on the bond she has with Shungen while also
exploring the ties to her family and brother while slowly losing her mask
she had to wear while also dealing with half truths of her mom MAN this is depressing.
Idk if I got it wrong but... he was Yoritomo's real bro?! and ends up taking over
Shana's role as yoshitune. Bruh... she's so badass and now ends up back in the kitchen.
Compared to the other routes its a little more otome as it was more relaxed and less fighting
but in return you get angst and a very loyal childhood friend who took care of everything
in all honesty he wasn't that interesting, his motives were very simple
and I got tired of hearing them quickly since they were the same throughout.
In the end the angst was just too much for me and him taking care of everything
made it quite suffocating I know he means well but its just not my thing.
IDK compared to the other routes I did so far it felt so off also that bad end is a big yikes.
The weird part of this route is... another side to Yoritomo's route
making things more confusing than it really was.

Taira no Noritsune.
CV: Kawanishi Kengo.
This guy is apparently a cousin of Shigehira and Tomohorny.
A history fact: apparently he died in dan-no-ura taking two minamoto soldiers
with him into the sea and in Benkei's route he died like a true samurai would.πŸ˜“
That was actually pretty sad, just showed that this game wasn't about saving everyone.
He's pretty feisty though in the beginning Shana had to interrupt the bitch fight he had
with Shungen and then he became interested and wanted a rematch.
Other than appearing to be a cranky tsundere, the common trend in this game is
if you don't do their route you won't really know much about them!
Uh well they get surrounded by Heike troops, Shana has to split from Benkei and Shungen
then she runs into Noritsune who's all like WHY ARE YOU HERE?!
he challenges her to a fight becuase PRIDE but uh its becoming apparent
that they both had enough of all this and when more soldiers come Noritsune
just shoves her aside telling her not to move. Basically ever since
they met in the mountains he wanted to fight her one on one
and people interruptung them is going to become a running gag.πŸ˜…
Shana kind of crushed on him hard when he offered his hand...
but then tells her to get out now and he'll be waiting to settle it one day.
When she gets back to the others Shana decides to not want to lose that moment...
as we get to see some things from Noritsune's pov, his heart is in the right place
and he got so pissed how he could do so little for the people.
Oh and that Tomomori really is a sensible man nvm those bad ends.😊
Me and the boys.
Its becoming pretty obvious Noritsune has a lot of pride and sees Shana as a rival so he
goes on a personal journey ending up as a bodyguard with a false name Takahito.
He ends up helping some people traveling to Hiraizumi meanwhile Shana trains with Tadanobu sometime after this she runs into him who's like you surprised? or have you forgotten me already.
Anyway he's ready to test her, after a tussle he scares of some bandits, Shana is honestly
surprised at how much he's changed and can't believe he's not doing it for the heike.
Ookay apparently there's an entire gang of evil men in the woods which are causing
trouble so they end up helping each other. Hmmm okay I guess?!
After the fighting is over Noritsune gets all pissy when she about to leave...
I want to fight Y O U! I won't be satisfied by anything else, there's no one to interrupts us either!
So why do you run from me?! reeee~ Shana is just like there's no point. Uhuh.
Apparently he wants to become stronger for his mothers sake...
hearing the stories afterwards would always cheer her up so he became
stronger to protect those who can't do so themselves hench why he's out here again.
After hearing his reasons Noritsune challenges her again
but Shana is like wait what now?! ..ok ITS ON. Too bad they got surrounded
by a bunch of bandits... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but they just jumped off the cliff into the river.
He got hurt though so they rest in a cave... she tends to his wounds, he swears
he'll get better and asking her not to run away as he struggles with the pain
Shana decides to keep him warm and uses herself as a body pillow.😳
When she gets back the she cannot keep it secret from her friends that Noritsune is in
Hiraizumi Yasuhira is in a state of panic because heike = evil so Noritsune gets thrown in jail
Hidehira is more calm about it but from now on things will get more difficult for sure.
While Nori is jailed he thinks back on the night in the cave and starts to wonder if it was
a woman with him because it is just strange how he felt the tiddy so there can be no mistake right?
Shana feels bad so she helps him escape he calls her a fool for betraying hidehira
he noticed how Shana has changed and they promise each other to a duel in the future.
When Yasuhira finds out about this he is so pissed at Shana which leads to a bunch
of drama when preparing for another campaign, they have to work with Yoshinaka of all people
to get Shana to have a fateful encounter on the battle field with her rival
unfortunately someone had to interrupt them AGAIN which distracts Shana
long enough for Noritsune to topple her and ask her why but he won't get an answer.
Shungen had to come and show up to bring her back and they manage to push
the heike troops back but Shana isn't exactly happy about any of it to the point
she lashes out at Yoshinaka for using dirty tactics, which just adds fuel to the fire.
This leads Yoshinaka and his men to burning down a town, angering Noritsune who is more
than eager to settle things, Shana is like wait up! you got it all wrong so they end up
helping the towns people escape from the genji. She ends up hurt so Noritsune carries Shana
despite her being part of the genji, he explains she's trying to help the heike.
Who Shana is doesn't matter really Noritsune doesn't make a fuss about it
she is who she is. He notes how much alike they are now helping the weak and all
so they'll end up figuring something out how to move forward from this.
Shungen and Benkei are already searching frantically without results
till they help some townsfolk that is. Unfortunately Shana is pretty much seen
as a traitor by now thanks to Yoshinaka being a total ass.
Oh well the first thing Shana sees when she wakes is Tomomori NICE
too bad he is not horny and quite caring. He's happy she even remembers
his name as well Shana acts like a wary cat.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Its ok this is a safe place... Tomomori just finds this situation quite interesting
how this yoshitsune stole Noritsune's heart, who shows up just in time to tell him to back off.
As they talk on the beach and watch some kids play, Noritsune realizes how much Shana
looks like a woman, it get awkward but Noritsune just tells her to get closer,,, knowing the truth
he still wants to fight her but he also feels something else he doesn't understand
so then he asks her what she is feeling. Shana tells him to stop which just confuses him more.
Shana actually does feel the same but thinks its no good, he just tells her its okay to stay here
especially since Yoshinaka has been such a bitch. What's right he doesn't know
but if it means she dies if she goes back then he wants her to stay.
Then suddenly the genji shows up... Shana decides to fight alongside Noritsune
and they managed to fight them off, they both deserve some rest now.
After some more war talk Noritsune walks in on Shana not being in her usual attire.πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
Thanks to a little kid and Tomomori's help... Noritsune just walks off angry but he's just flustered
because he doesn't want the others seeing her like that, he's just being overprotective
after 48 years Shungen and Benkei find Shana and want to bring her back as they're trying
to make both factionscome to an agreement Tokuko has no intention of doing so
and brought soldiers with her to stop it which just incites more conflict.
They can't stop the fighting.... so Noritsune tries to tell people to run.
Genji have stopped the fighting and some people escaped on boats, mostly thanks to Noritsune
Shungen and everyone else want Shana to come back too and she does. >_>
Noritsune is waiting for Shana at dan no ura... looks like their fated duel is finally happening
even though something has changed within their hearts that didn't stop them
they just dance with their swords clashing from boat to boat. Everyone is just like o_o
In the end they both do a gamble and end up falling into the sea...
they both survive and wash up somewhere thanks to some fishermen.
Later Tomomori,Shigehira and a bunch of people show up too...
either way they get to live their lives together then Shigehira joked about following them
but Noritsune is like please no and then Tomomori drags him off his brother.
In the epilogue they end up living in some village enjoying their peaceful life...
Shana's cooking skills have improved too though Shana still over thinks things
so Noritsune is like its ok babe I love you, we didn't choose the wrong path.

Tragic end: ...they end up killing each other and they're totally fine
if it has to end this way as they both sink to the bottom of the sea.😒😒😒
Bad end 1: They end up fighting when Yoshinaka set the town on fire
and Noritsune ends up dealing a mortal blow. Realizing he has nothing left
he ends up commiting suicide. Why is this so depressing.
Bad end 2: When Tokuko sours the mood, both the genji and heike get a hate-boner
for Yoshitsune and try to gang up on her, Noritsune protects her and takes the hit
he tries to tell her to run as he lays dying but there's nothing left really. 😭😭😭
This route was very interesting! i'm not a big fan of rivalry ships
but the way it was done was nice even if it was frustrating at times since something
always had to interrupt their duels lol. Noritsune was a likable character and
the romance was cute but also awkward maybe that was the intention hmm.
This may be the most unique route in the game, the perspective and how
much of a different turn of events there is was refreshing, if you felt bad for the heike
at this point that is, can't help but do myself.πŸ˜… This was a decent route alright
but other than that the plot didn't do much new.
Romance  ★★★☆☆ (It's not bad but it'll depend if you like rivalry.)
Plot  ★★★☆☆ (Its nice in its own way)

Taira no Tomomori.
CV: Fukuyama Jun.
Ah yes Tomomori, for better or worse the last thing I'd think about in harutoki 3
and looking at his character I couldn't help but be interesting and he's hawt.
I'd like to keep that mindset but Benkei's route made me see otherwise
he's a pervert who wants to see the protagonist tears and wants to make her his waifu
and he has gotten the nickname Tomohorny because of his sins in Benkei's route
not to mention in two bad ends he basically NTR's Shana... 😳
Knowing all this welp its time to romance the antagonist!

His route starts when Shana and the others were attacked by Tomomori at night...
he's extremely interested in wanting her to come with him but also enjoys
playing around and testing her strength sigh~ as always he's a massive tease
this time he's a bit too horny Shana tries to tell him to shut up but it has little effect wait when
did doing so ever have any effect? Tomomori wants her to come with him
so bad and managed to throw Shana off guard, he even kisses her.
Tomomori starts calling her a himegimi which throws Shana off even more
wait how does he realize i'm a woman?! He tells her knows that Shana carries a secret.
Do you want to know the secret? i'll tell you if you come with me i'm not a bad man I promise.
I'm enjoying this too much... even if Tomomori is really forward there's comedy in it. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Tomomori's sweet words still lead Shana to say... NOPE and here eyes light up
and she's really done with his shit. Tomomori is like ooooh you want to play
like this? why not seems like fun. When Shungen tells her to come to the boat
she jumps to it and our good friend Benkei catches her.
At first Shana can't stop thinking about Tomomori though... but a lot of time passes
then Tomomori tries to call out to her mentally (LMAO), Shana is like new phone who dis
and he's like oh no she has forgotten? I can't forgive this. Oh well Shana continues
as usual, practicing with Tadatsugu who fills her in on some political mumbo jumbo.
Shana has a weird dream and ends up wandering leading her right to Tomomori but she just
tells him to shut up. Tomomori's so relieved he got to see her again even if she is so cold to him.
Tomomori doesn't want her to forget him... so now he's making sure she doesn't
through dreams but since she's so feisty he has to call it a day
he can't wait till next time and says he'll prepare a gift. 😨
Shana is being tormented by Tomomori, she has to sit out a battle but her friends got her back...
Tadatsugu interrogates some captain who was caught red handed near Hiraizumi
was under orders of the heike. The poor guy knew this could happen then
he hands over some hair ornament. Shana is like OH SHIT the ramblings
of the crazy man are coming true. No one can figure out why he's doing it
and Shana starts to figure this is probably because of her.
Hidehira tells his son Yasuhira to calm down who was in a state of panic as usual...
at night Shana has another dream of Tomomori who tells her if she liked the gift
he continues to taunt Shana rather cruelly, he's waiting for her... the only
one that can match his strength Shana nows startsto understand her destiny a little more
this strange power she has its not just for show. They end up launching
an attack against the heike...which I wish they had TL;DR for us
Shigehira shows up and Shana tries to kick his ass but then Tomomori
shows up rejoicing at getting to see- no fight her. They're in a pinch
so Shana awakens once again.... Tomomori orders to overwhelm and tired her out
she just cuts them all down one by one, Tomomori finds this quite beautiful
Shungen tries to stop her, as she faces Tomomori he realizes she puts on an act
and also over powers her, because thats all he wants. Her.
When she wakes up she's been kidnapped by Tomomori.....
who wants to make her his and Shana was like really head strong and was like NOPE
Tomomori just enjoys her cat like reactions.😩😩😩

Tomomori forces Shana to listen to his heartbeat which for some reason
makes her want more, as seen in Benkei's route Shana and the two brothers can take
peoples life force as their own to recover their wounds.
Tomomori is willing to let her go but also warns her about her power...
as not to recklessly absorbs someone's life force, a normal person will probably die.
Knowing he's not lying Shana decides to stay for now atleast.
The next morning he's his usual teasing self and Shana is being a tsundere
will have none of it.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Except the part of having to travel with him as a woman.
Tomomori comments how that night they first met her tears really were beautiful.
I swear this guy...... when he asks why she then explains about how they were
looking for her mother. He just finds it all the more interesting.
Its not like I want to pour you a drink or anything~ :/
When they rest at a place, Shana randomly starts to poor sake into his cup like a real wife
then he starts saying how he never saw her smile and he actually wants to see it now...
in fact he will make sure of it that she smiles. Shana is actually getting tired of him in away
put then he actually tries to get her to sleep next to him which just makes Shana go NOPE.
Tomomori wants her closer so they can recover their strength... incase they have to fight
Shana is still a bit unsure but it seems Tomomori despite teasing isn't lying at all.
Shana then has a dream of Tomomori's childhood how he was made a chosen one because of
his blood they continue traveling the next day, she starts asking questions at first
Tomomori was just fine with just her tears but he can't help want to see more.
At night when they set up camp he tells some weird folktale trying to scare her
but Shana is like 😐 ah he'd had hoped she'd be frightened then Shana realizes it
and starts laughing at him. Tomomori is surprised at why she's laughing
because Noritsune and Shigehira were terrified when he told them Tomomori is absolutely
fascinated by her smile, he's thankful the moonlight is enough to see it. When she wakes up
she mistakes him for Shungen... and he teases her how she clung to him so much
but her saying another dude's name is a mood killer. The fact is her childhood friend
is a problem as well I can agree with this fact that osananajimi are indeed problematic.πŸ˜…
They continue traveling Tomomori has her meet his dad Kiyomori who isn't doing so hot
when he sees her he calls her rengetsu, Shana is like lol wut Kiyomori begs her
to help his clan then passes away but then Tokuko comes in wondering who she is
but starts freaking out and then Shana runs off because she doesn't understand wtf is happening.
Tomomori follows her and tries to explain its all but obvious Shana is not from the genji
he doesn't want her to go back since it will only make things worse but she's like NOPE
and runs off, she has to face Yoritomo who is oddly relieved to have her back as are her friends.
Tomomori starts to wonder if its really right for it to go like this... having seen
her many faces its kind of obvious he has real feelings for her.
She participates in a battle against Yoshinaka, she doesn't feel well as others cover for her
and then hears Tomomori's voice which helps her calm down and protect her friends.
What's up with this spiritual connection they have?
She kicks Yoshinaka's ass, there's some lingering drama of it but Yoritomo is like it is done.
Tokuko is acting strange, not just the wishy washy daughter but actually making decisions
saying its what's her father wants they all hear how Yoshitsune defeated Yoshinaka
Tomomori wonders how she's doing having to kill someone of the genji
they prepare for an eventual confrontation with them, he'll wait for her.
Yoritomo does notice something is up but he decides to take advantage of her strength
in the upcoming battles regardless the rest played out mostly like other routes
Shana fights Shigehira and eventual Tomomori using their full potential
but this time its different Tomomori doesn't want her to fight like this
as she's lost her sense of self and she'll destroy herself at this rate
Shana is too strong and knocks out Tomomori.... when she regains her composure
she doesn't how she got here and why Tomomori is wounded, everyone else calls her inhuman.
Yoritomo is the only one who compliments her at all but she starts crying
which for some reason gives Tomomori enough strength to stand and gets
super worked up over it saying he hates her crying face and he'll take her back.
After he kicks some genji ass he asks for her hand... Shana remembers
he always wanted to take her hand so she takes it and they run.
Shana wakes up with an injured Tomomori at her side... who passes out
saying not to bother she tries to take care of him by giving him energy then she has a dream
about a young boy saying he's fine with dying since he's killed so many already, so many
lives he had eaten. Shana holds the little boy and can't help but cry.
Tomomori wakes up feeling better but instantly worries when she sees her sleeping face....
he tells her she shouldn't have but Shana couldn't bear to watch.
Tomomori doesn't actually want to see her with another man, he suspects
he might have fallen for her, Shana doesn't feel awkward around him anymore and he won't
leave her side and start to ichaicha. Thank god because I couldn't take the tension
Afterwards they go for a walk, they end up talking about the future, living together
doesn't sound too bad. Tomomori ends up revealing some more truth he thought
wouldn't be necessary if she had stayed with the genji but now... is a good time.
How Kiyomori once brought in some woman with a strange power that could pass down
something godly strength which is why his sons have this strange power
that saps peoples life force then out of nowhere Tokuko interrupts them.
Saying its just like they said and she couldn't bear to watch any longer
apparently Tokuko isn't who she seems and she's been granted this name
and appearance and she is Rengetsu. Thanks to her brother, her world got wider
but she couldn't remember till she saw Shana then it all became so crystal clear for her.
Rengetsu wants Shana's help to crush both heike, genji and rule in their stead for her brother.
Tomomori tells Shana to run, as Rengetsu tries to get her to come to ''her mother''.
Tomomori gets pushed into the sea... and Shana just kind of stands there confused i'm like same.
This also explains Tokuko's irrational behavior in Noritsune's route
and explains why Shigehira went bonkers in Benkei's. Either way Tokuko forces Shana
to cooperate, Shana is like why?! to make her brothers wish come true of course!
Tokuko locks her in a daze sapping her strength and Tomomori finds himself on a shore
determined to stop Tokuko he forces two genji soldiers take him to Yoritomo---
---and explains the situation as best he can even if it means revealing the heike's sins
of creating a monster that devours peoples lives and grants them super powers, which
was passed down from Kiyomori to his sons Shigehira and Tomomori. He manages
to convince them just barely and they'll help defeat this Rengetsu.
Rengentsu has Shana locked up who is confused and demands answers
and then it is revealed Rengetsu is the one who killed Ike no Zenni
because she intervered with her brothers wish she got in the way. Rengetsu even shows her
another part of the story of when Ike no Zenni found out Rengetsu ran away into
the mountains knowing what the taira were creating monsters so she hunted Rengetsu down
who could barely even speak or defend herself. The soldiers killed her and then, for some reason
she was able to come back through Tokuko who was with Shigehira playing around
at night when something scary happened and so rengetsu lived within Tokuko.
Even so Shana won't let her do as she pleases but on her own she can't stand a chance.
At dan no ura, Rengetsu starts absorbing and she just goes bonkers, her appearance
changes as well  Shana confronts her but Rengetu really does want to be called mother
so Shana uses this chance to sap some strength from her. Giving enough time
for Tomomori to reach her. He wouldn't give up after promising to live together.
They try to subdue her by sapping her strength which worked to some extend
but like Shigehira during Benkei's she's gonna be needing a bigger spanking.
They also found the emperor antoku who starts crying for his mother
which for some reason calms her down enough for Tokuko to resurface as the emperors
voice brought her back but its too late her personality is too mixed with Rengetsu.
So while she's still sane she asks to be killed. Tomomori will grant her this wish
while Shana takes care of the emperor. After everything is over Tomomori
will try to be the shoulder Shana can lean on, she's like you can lean on mine as well.
Shana and Tomomori get to live together, which is just more of the same shenanigans
but the difference being she is now officially his wife.😫😳😈
He takes her on a evening walk, tells her he really enjoys seeing her many faces
and she is the one that showed her how beautiful the world can be.
In the tragic end: Shana absorbed too much and starts to lose it after finishing her off
Tomomori managed to reach her but she tells him its better that she dies....
Tomomori says he'll try his best to save her but then she grabs her blade and does it herself.
Tomomori can't accept this fact and pretty much loses it and starts killing his own soldiers
because if she no longer lives then what's the point of everything. He'll destroy it all.
Shungen and the others try to get him to stop but he won't leave her alone
so he sinks with her to the bottom of the sea.😭😭😭
Bad end 1: At the beginning of the route when Shana fights him under the moonlight
she decides to believe his sweet words to come to his side........
Bad end 2: When she fought Tomomori unleasing all of her strength
she regained her senses too late and awakens to see him lie lifeles before her.
Shana ends up commiting suicide, saying she'll be with him soon.
Shigehira end: Shigehira ends up following the poor captain and ends up killing him
before he can tell them anything about the hairpin. Since he doesn't trust
their word he's like I want Shana to show me around Hiraizumi if there's
nothing suspicious going on i'll let ya'll peace out? we got a deal right?
They don't got much of a choice so they work together to mke it happen.
He has some sake, starts to notice how feminine she looks....Shigehira
simple came here to find out why his bro is so interested in her.
He meets with Hidehira too but felt more like a formality... the rest was pretty nonbiri
and then he ends up getting a cold, Shana takes care of him.
Afterwards when he gets better he figures she's a woman and after spending all this time
with her he realizes he doesn't want her to be with this brother, even though he respects him.
Hmmm I got to say this was pretty cute for some reason I liked this more than nobu&tsugu
but as always this episode was no different and left some things open ended.
Tomomori being trashy aside, this was an enjoyable route despite him being
very forward in the beginning, Shana was like NOPE not like this, I loved her tsundere
reactions! it is still interesting how they made it work in the end. Tomomori being so...
extra also led to it being quite comedic despite there being one part that made
me uncomfortable, he never did anything she didn't want. Hmm maybe
i'm starting to sound like an apologist. This route was also great at wrapping up
remaining plot threads, suddenly it all made sense. IDK if there were locked routes
but Tomomori should probably be done last. That aside this is my fav route next to Yoritomo.
Tomomori also gets the most kiss cg's... haha he really is thirsty.
I think he's a weird character but... he's not so bad except in bad ends
but let's not think too hard about those, let's not.

Favorite route:
Tomomori > Yoritomo > Noritsune > Benkei > Shungen.
Story wise I prefer Yoritomo and Tomomori, Benkei was also enjoyable and gives some hints.
Shungen's my least fav because its hard to get what's going on not to mention his effort
in other routes is... support only and having done yoritomo before him it just got more confusing.
Noritsune was the mostly self-contained as well, plot wise it ties with Benkei's.
Tomomori was probably the most fun route in the game and he wraps up all remaining plot threads
though I could understand that part of his character could be off-putting.

Fav character:
Yoritomo > Tomomori > Benkei > Noritsune > Tsugunobu > Shungen >  Shigehira > Tadanobu > Takatsuna.
Okay this is hard, there's no one that I disliked that much so its just preference
out of main cast I like Shungen the least but they were all great in theire own way.πŸ˜„
Shigehira's mini episode made me like him a little more than usual, I think Takatsuna is
a nice character but... he's just kinda there if not for his episode i'd forget about him.πŸ˜…

Final thoughts
I thought this was overall a well rounded otome game, decent story
likeable characters and the art was beautiful, music was fitting too.
There are some landmines and things won't always be happy
but it didn't try to be something its not or had routes that were wasted
like I might not be a fan of Shungen's route but it was still decent
its one of two routes that were good at breaking the pattern set by others.
Tomomori might also be a rather trashy character but there was a certain comedy to it
and I didn't mind doing his route at all they wrote it in a way that was fun
even made me like/care for him more than I originally thought.
Though I think out of all my fav was Yoritomo just enjoyed the story more.
There's no denying the scenario is limited and some things will play out the same way
like it or not the final showdown will be at Dan no Ura. The individual routes still added
some individuality to it all, to add to it so it never was eactly the same
it wasn't as annoying as say BAW but I think that game had other problems as well.
Shana is a strong heroine, not just in strength once her mind is made up there's no stopping her...
I am sure that the secret power she shares with the taira was also an excuse for smut.πŸ˜…
Bilshana also seemed to have more budget than say Dairoku, npc sprites
and actually decent backgrounds so that does help make it better.
The only bad part is the war stuff made me sleepy and there's a lot of common stuff
though war being boring comes with the territory! despite all that I thought this was
a decent otome game with a solid plot, I liked it a lot more than the last one I played
which also had politics yet for some reason I think Bilshana had better execution.
Either way I had fun with it. Its still hard to recommend though
as historic fantasy simply isn't for everyone.

I'll wait for piofiore fd/sequel next, I was lowkey interested in haikara
but after seeing an amazon review jokingly call it nagaikara I had second thoughts
especially since this game already was kind of long.
I heard cupid parasite was a pretty fun game so maaaybe i'll get it.

  1. Does the game only have bad ends and one normal end for each chara? It looks like there are no truly happy endings. I mean even in the "good" end Yoritomo has other wives :(

    1. Pretty much have to take what you can get, per route there was only one end that was happier than others.

  4. Omg now I understand what you mean by the CGs being meh, wtf, why didn’t they give Tamamori good CGs πŸ’€πŸ’€when they even slept together hugging there was no CG, then the next scene we get a freakin sake pour CG instead of them sleeping together holding hands, gawd

  5. Also, may I ask who you think is true route? I assume it’s Tamamori considering how it wrapped up the entire story in terms of showing the big reveal and all dat, is Yoritome just a poster boy then?

    1. In terms of story its probably Tomomori. Yoritomo isn't really a poster boy imo.
