Temirana Koku no Tsuiteru Hime to Tsuitenai Kishi Dan - Review

Tsuitsui ~The lucky princess and the unlucky knights~
 Genre: VN.
Developer/publisher: Otomate.
Platform: Switch.
Official Site: https://www.otomate.jp/tsuitsui/
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v34020
Release date: 2023-04-27.

Otomate's latest game! when I looked at it prerelease it didn't
really grab me outside of the heroine being cute, some designs
partly reminded me of a PS2 otome game but when looking at it the plot
did seem interesting? so I gave it a try anyway.😊
Most of the seiyuus aside from a few are all pretty new, I guess the veterans
have become too expensive but it seems they've invested a bit in Kimuryo.
Still I think its nice they let newer talent get some roles too.  Also since the title is so long
I'll be referring to this game as Tsuitsui instead, which also rolls of the tongue pretty well.

Pro's
- Story and Characters.
- Art is decent but the designs remind me of a ps2 era game.
- Music was good, it fits the setting/moments.

Con's
- It may look like a comedy but its really not.
- Not a lot of fluff.
- Length; no joke it is a long VN.
- No play order restriction, which IMO may have been necessary.

The story is about a princess who has high luck, some sort of power which
she uses to determine who's safe or something sadly this power isn't seen as positive
and they mostly refer to it as a curse. One day Cecillia starts trusting her intuition more
and learns it was actually trying to help her. Most of the knights she ends up choosing
were not really being suited for such a job! The guys also really seems like Cecillia just
picked them up from the street and some don't even have an interest in being a knight
which is probably the main reason that caught my attention.
They had to do some training-camp were she got to know them better and low and behold
some magic happened as she interacted with them and actually got them to take it seriously!

Art; its decent but some designs reminds me of some PS2 era game.
The heroine looked really cute though but some Cg's of the guys did not grab my attention
still it wasn't all bad and there were good ones! the backgrounds were especially well done.
Music was alright it fits the setting/mood. I didn't have any complaints but the OP
I did start skipping after a few plays not that the song was bad, it just not my thing
it also seemed kind of misleading and way too cutesy for what the game really was about.
The ED was really nice though! perfectly fitted the mood.

The game also had a generally chill vibe going on as well! especially in the common route.
There is best end, normal and game over end for each character so you may have
to watch your choices here and there (or just use a guide). I personally skipped
the game over/bad ends as they gave no CG.

The common route was long and it took its time to introduce the characters
as they did not become knights in a single day; god bless for that since
some of them really didn't seem like they were gonna be knights haha.
If you had to ask me, the common route was the most fun part, its the
personal routes where things start to get real.
The pacing wasn't too bad and the common chapters of introduction were paced well
its basically a pace I was comfortable with, at times a little slow/boring but..
we did get to know the characters and understand the setting etc.
The only time I was ever bothered by it was in the final route but then again
it had lots of great moments with the love interest too so I can forgive them.
The character interactions are also one of the best parts and i think
the characters did carry this game by a lot as well.
This game may seem light-hearted and knows when to have fun
however it isn't afraid to throw in political games or people plotting stuff!
Also after you complete routes there are new but short scenes from the guys POV.
All of the love interests were likable in some way so that was great, they weren't
off-putting or a creep or anything. For some sub characters it was easy to tell that they were not
so nice like for example Claudia who is Cecillia's sister totally has that villainess look.
Maybe in another world she's the protagonist trying to save herself from certain doom!
Honestly I can tell the writers/devs sort of did this as a joke.
Cecillia on the other hand was a pretty good heroine, despite being lucky she still goes
through some shit alright but is able to keep her chin up and well in the case of Joseffy
being able to put a leash on him (or so it seemed to me). Cecy was both caring and headstrong!

I did find the overall the setting/lore and political intrigue to be particularly strong in Tsuitsui
as it certainly wasn't afraid to go all out with the heroine being a princess and part of a monarchy.
This was definitely not a rom-com but the story and characters were its strong points.

Some routes could turn out to be less interesting depending on the order of play, the romance
with the love interests was alright as they did manage to find a balance of how
things progressed, if kimiyuki had an odd balance or dragged they certainly
found the right balance with tsuitsui. However I want to make it clear that
Tsuitsui is not a short game, so if you end up getting this you're definitely getting
something with a bit of volume and a long final route. There's not much fluff but I still
think most of the best endings were fulfilling. So if this game never gets a FD
I wouldn't be too disappointed, I mean it would be nice if it did well enough!

Overall Tsuitsui was pretty decent to me, despite looking a bit generic!
so if you're up for something like an otome game version of game of thrones or
the dragon prince(but not really) this tsuitsui definitely gets my recommendation.
IDK how well this game did in japan, or if i'm one of the very few who imported but if
it didn't do well then otomate only has themselves to blame for misrepresenting this game.
Because it really seems like it was gonna be some light-hearted comedy which turned
into actually being something with a serious story with funny moment as but an after thought.
Needless to say I still think Tsuitsui was good but don't come here expecting a rom-com!
8/10

Play order doesn't seem to matter much as every route is self-contained
and each can reveals parts of the greater plot! there is no restriction
which really baffles me since there are routes that reveal more than others
especially Kier and Adel kind of hints at things.
Order of play that I recommend:
Toby/Milan > Joseph > Adel > Kier > Finale.

My own play order was:
Milan > Josef > Kier > Adel > Toby > Finale.
I still think this is partly fine since it flowed well enough and by the time of Adel route
everything fell into the right pieces so I am inclined to recommend this same order
with the exception of not doing Tobi last since I found it to be a little lacking
with the exception of his character development also Kier's route is best done last b4 finale.

Spoilers and character ramblings after the jump. I'll be mostly sharing two CG's per character
with the exception of the finale since I had too many favorites.

Milan Herring.
CV: Sakaguchi Shouhei.
Cecy realizing his last name is HERRING.
A blacksmith... who was chosen as a knight but seems to only care about smithing??!! Okay.jpg
Anyway smithing isn't the only thing he's good at, he's quite a chef too.
Ended up winging it and just going for this guy first since I kind of wanted it out of the way
but Milan was quite nice??? he might not be the prettiest boy of the bunch but he is
very down to earth! and found him to be quite a sweetheart? Milan can also be
kind of dumb which just made him cute... They had to act as lovers at some point and the
whole part was hilarious. After the king passes away Cecy and Milan ends up being chosen as king
and queen so they have a wedding mid-route, a bit sudden but I guess that sort of thing happens.
Milan gets cursed from the ring so he starts attacking her at times going all like how he
can't accept her, turns out someone possessed isabelle and that person is pretty butthurt
about some shit from the past. Eventually they manage to undo the curse and Milan did apologize
for his behavior and all's guchi they end up traveling to his hometown and he tells her
how his village was wiped out? a long time ago, this gave him some sort of hate boner
and the one responsible was this Lenard guy who upon their return set a trap for them
since he found out Milan was one of the survivors? and even tried to make Milan hate him more
while also killing him. Good thing is... even though Milan was blocked off he still managed
to get out and reunite with Ceci! Milan ends up making a new ring, they may not
be married anymore but he still wants to be her lover.
Priest guy knows its been tough for him and is willing to help them out saying it is still possible
for them to marry anyway *wink wink, nudge nudge* since back then he wasn't
using the herring name LMAO. Oh well all's well that ends well!
In the normal end: Milan stays a smith and Cecy ends up living with him
but its okay since they both have each other.
Well I think Milan had a solid route! definitely became more likable once you got to know him
but I guess the whole getting cursed thing put me on edge. I guess we'll go into that
more in some other route but it wasn't that bad or anything. Romance wise it was okay too
sure they got married like it was nothing but there was a reason for that and by the end they had
their feelings sorted out too, best end it is were its at but the normal end was fitting too.

 Joseffy Cornell Hild Zondaric.
CV: Furukawa Makoto.
Let's just say that while not having the best first impressions, THIS BOI won me over by the end!
His name is too long for his own good so let's just call him Josef.
He's a prince of some ruined country... but he's pretty serious about still wanting to be a prince
and ends up being the angry tsundere type of character as a result. Though honestly
in the beginning he just came across as an asshole and I was kind of over these types.πŸ˜…
At the very least Cecy was surprisingly good at yanking Josef's leash so it was actually kind of funny!
Josef and this Erik guy are absolutely insufferable when interacting as they can't stand each other
so most of the time I was like make out(or up) already... and Erik is just a bully. >_>
Josef's squabbles with Erik were amusing, i'm sure even when they're granpa's they'll still be at it.πŸ˜‚
The plot in this route was like... someone was after Cecy's life, then when she was having
a talk with her father the king he starts coughing up blood and she is being accused of his murder.
The king dies in like every route so its kind of like a mandatory event which sets things in motion...
Everything going to shit quite literally in this route... and then Cecy had to stand trial
for a crime she didn't commit! however Josef and others still have her back so all hope
wasn't lost even if things did look bleak, it quickly became obvious that someone else did it.
Cecilia ends up being crowned as queen when all of that was over, doesn't mean the story ends!
There were lots of twist and turns plus this route also felt longer so I won't write it all down...
anyway Josef ends up manning up and preventing a war between Temirana and his home country?
he also confessed his feelings to Cecy and honestly while he may seem rude he really is a softy.
Isabelle ends up being possessed again by that butthurt spirit who wants to ruin Cecilia's life
but Josef won't let that happen so all's well that ends well? Best end: they couldn't see
each other for a while but that just made them stronger and they end up engaged.
Normal end: Cecy ends up sneaking out to meet him who has left the knighthood
behind and also confesses his love... idk this ending felt like it cut itself short.
Overall? pretty good route, I think this game really may be an otome game version
of game of thrones or something! the plot was pretty exciting in this route
romance didn't disappoint either since there was a lot of time for them to bond.
Josef may not be my favourite but his route won me over.

Kier Nelty.
CV: Yamamoto Kazutomi.
A boy that probably should get a haircut and also seems to forget things easily due to an illness
still he ends up writing important events down and meeting Ceci ended up being
such A special moment for him that he really treasures it and tries his best to try to be a knight
even though it would be troublesome. Kier felt like he was the cinnamon roll too pure and good
for the world and even if it was the common route I could see he was wholesome but I found
his character/route to be quite sad. Still Kier is not helpless and is quite brave too!

They met up with his mother who's doing well enough however he can't fully understand
her feelings cuz of his condition of losing his memory after a day.
Sure he writes the important part down but it won't change how he could have felt had he still his memory. Turns out the 1 day memory loss is because he took medicine to cure an illness as a kid
and that's how he turned out with this weird 1 day memory loss. Kier also peaked into Cecy's
memories one time but i'm not sure how or why, it may have been cuz of her magic.
One day when they were on an expedition, Kier ended up disapearing right infront of Ceci...
he doesn't seem to return, of course she's worried but still has faith in Kier being able to hold his own.
Lenard was acting suspicious on the day of the duels... knowing Ceci was shorthanded
but Kier suddenly shows up mid match but asks her to let him handle it.
Meanwhile I am like what even is going on? but good he made it back still!
Alongside the usual political BS we find out there's some magic in Kier
and its best its not activated. So the place he disappeared in reacted with whatever
residue was still in his body. Rudy figures it may end up being fine if...
but they got interrupted since Claudia is trying to pick her nose where it doesn't belong
and thinks Cecillia is plotting something. Anyway there's a chance they were able to cure?
Kier of his illness that makes him forget things but its not really easy, Cecy ends up reading all
his notes he made since they met.😭😭😭 For some reason Claudia ends up being
candidate for the crown instead of Cecy  and she also declares Kier as suspicious
due to the Duel incident, Cecy really tries to fight it by bringing in Klaudia's involvement
in an assasination which kinda works but they have to go into hiding for a while.
Kier reveals Cecillia shouldn't rely or use her magic since while it has positives it ultimately
is designed to take something. So he urges her not to rely on it. They end up causing
a little revolution to take down Claudia and so Cecillia gets another chance at being chosen.
Afterwards after she is crowned they end up visiting that weird forest
since Kier wants Cecy to live without her curse, he doesn't really understand himself
and its a long story, put simply there's someone after her life because of her familie line.
Unfortunately Claudia doesn't know when to give up in this route and orchestrates
a revolution of her own to become the queen again and they end up following Cecy too.
Isabelle shows her true colours and not even Claudia is needed for her... because as we know
Isabelle is posessed by Volental. Cecy and Kier flee back into the caverns to make some
last minute preparation before her mom or uh volental catches up with them.
Kier asks her to have faith and pulls a blade called Dixion from her chest because
he wants her to live a happy life free from whatever curse she carries from her bloodline.
Tales of Arise 2021; colorized.
Kier says he's happy to have met her and goes to face Isabelle/Volental.
Cecy wakes back up in her room after a long dream, no one really knows where Kier is yet.
Life goes on for a bit... Cecillia misses Kier and realizes how much she loves him
then she can hear his voice and he is like right behind her in spirit form. Confusedblackguy.gif
Also Erik really supported her in this route, he even got a promotion!
In the epilogue they all eat cake and save one for well you know...  afterwards Cecy goes
to get some air and wanders around while looking back on the memories of the person she loves.
When she comes back to her room, Kier just walks back in so casually, he says
he's not going anywhere. Apparently he was in another realm all this time... and after
nagging to the folks there(presumably the gods) they let him go. All's well that ends well
as Cecy can finally tell him how she feels and she is ''special'' to him too!
Normal end: Kier never came back but Cecy is confident that it'll be fine and she'll be a great
queen and able to lead her country. Normal end? more like sad end.😭😭😭
I'm like damn! what a route??? probably the most well-rounded route thus far
but it really baffles me is that there is no restriction on it considering how extra it was
and giving even more context to things revealed in other routes. Kier was a great character
and I liked his development and his bond with Cecy. I thin this route was really strong overall
were  choice actually can matter in which ending you get and one is more sadder than the other.
I'd definitely be devasted if I got the normal end on my first go.

Adel Nares.
CV: Karino Shou.
The eldest son of some poor family. Still he wouldn't mind if he could become a knight
like in one of the stories he read about which he really treasures. He also has a little
brother and sister and tries his hardest to support them. However his dad is a bit
of a sleazebag even though Cecillia gave him money while nice atfirst started
being a total dickhead that not even Adel can overlook it, especially since Cecy got hurt.
Other than that Adel was mostly wholesome and I really liked the scenes he had with Cecy
Adel was like super wholesome even when he won a colosseum match and sometime later during
a quick duel with Erik, Adel starts acting weird as if he's possessed definitely not his usual self
but as soon as its over he's back to being himself, I was pretty confused at this.
Turns out the person possessing Adel is Volental aka the dude who manipulated Isabelle
in the other routes and he wants the sword that is inside Cecillia.
Isabelle oversteps her bounds and Adel err I mean Volental tries to keep her in check...
as what he wants is quite literally the lucky princess. For some reason Cecy starts to resemble
her sister Claudia as well and her hair turned black. Volental wants her to join him
in another real for whatever reason. Volental will be waiting till the eclipse
and the next day Adel starts wangsting about how unfit he is as a knight and how
Volental even kissed Cecy while he was powerless. Adel knows it wasn't him that did it
but its kind of confusing but he doesn't want Cecy to end up getting hurt. Adel treasures her
and wants to protect her as well but as things stand it is difficult.
Adel wants to go his own way for a bit but he will always be Cecillia's knight
and being a knight has changed him for the better, however letting him go
didn't really help things and was actually a very dumb move since Volental just
controlled him again and wants Cecy to go along with him so he regains his true power.
To do so Volental has to kill Cecillia, Adel however doesn't want this and fights back
with all his might since he wants to keep his promise of being by her side.
Volental spouts some threats since he has apparently the power to take full control which means
Adel could disappear but Adel just tells Cecy to trust in him and won't let it happen.
Adel falls into a deep sleep when his inner battle with Volental is over, like he's a sleeping beauty.πŸ˜‚
Thankfully he wakes up eventually but he doesn't understand why he is in such a fancy looking place
like a room in the palace. It seems Adel has memory loss and only recognizes Cecillia as a noble.
Cecy is still happy he's alive and asks him to be her knight again, being a knight doesn't sound
so bad to him or weird at all (after all it was like his dream to be a knight like one of those stories).
In the epilogue he has started to slowly remember things and apologizes for forgetting
and is back on duty as Cecillia's knight as well as being her lover.
Normal end: Not much difference, he's back to being Cecy's knight but hasn't fully
remembered everything. Which is kind of sad I guess? it felt like it ended prematurely.
Well, honestly I thought Adel's route was pretty good and the story was interesting
never did I expect him to get possessed. I may have done this route at the right time too!
Adel was pretty wholesome and I liked the romance too! even if there wasn't much
they did have good chemistry so I enjoyed every scene they got.

Tobias Habeck Frey
CV: Kobayashi Yuusuke.
A fallen aristocrat that actually seems to want to be a knight?! who knew! there is actually
someone willing amongst these guys! except he is really frail and ends up being hilarious
most of the times so Tobi can kind of seem like the clown of the group but atleast he's trying!
he also can draw/paint which has varuing degrees of results. Anyway I didn't have a whole lot
of expectations for this route, which may have been a good thing.
Tobias suspected someone may try and assassinate Cecy again so... this clown tried
to do a stake out at night but ended up getting caught by the princess herself.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

They end up investigating someone and then Tobi finds out thanks to Lenard that his family
was disgraced because of an assassination plot against the royal family, this made him realize
how cursed he is but Cecy immediately talked some sense into him! thinks get worse
when they got some soldiers on their arses on the way back but Tobi really did a good job
at keeping Cecy save. Tobi got injured and ended up seeing a dream of the past...
thanks to the magic used on him to cure him or whatever. There's also the fact
Tobi doesn't want a specific ring to fall into certain peoples hands since it is sure something
terrible could happen. Just then like in all routes the news arrives the king has condition
has worsened and passes away, sad times and a ritual to select the next ruler is performed.
Cecy ends up being selected, some don't like this but Tobi promises to do whatever he can.
Still it seems Tobi is having a personal dilemma and needs to think on how he can be at his best
the other knights still have Cecy's back whenever trouble arises.
Cecy is worried about Toby but Kier tells her not to since Toby always thinks of Cecy first
and when they meet up with Toby at Kier's suggestion they find out he's undercover
and has figured out Claudia was had a hand in assasinating the king.nIsabelle snuck up on them revealing that the ring will continue to bring misfortune on whoever has it after she poofs away
Toby goes solo  and tells her before he goes he's doing it all for Cecy and that he treasures her.
The others all work together but in the end its Toby who has to overcome his past
and defeat the villain, who ended up losing their memories. After all is over they finally
confessed how they felt to each other, Tobi's family honor was restored(IIRC)
and he asks Cecy to wait for him a bit longer since it'll take some work.
In the normal end: Tobi ends up giving her the ring which has now lost its magic...
things may not be perfect but the bond between them is real and who knows?
Unfortunatly while I really liked Tobi's personal development and romance with Cecy
this route did very little for me so   I think this route is better done sooner rather than later.
The plot here did very little so it may be better before or after Milan's route.
I guess running into this problem was bound to happen sooner or later but I am glad
that I had an enjoyable order of play sans Tobi's route. Honestly while strong in terms
of character development, there was just not much else to Tobi's route, so while
it may not be as epic as Kier's it is still nice just for Tobi.
~

Erik.
CV: Kimura Ryohei.
Do it for him!
Awww yissss who would have thought? its the no,1 not suspicious at all dude!
he'd be like suprise bitch! miss me? while Josef is cursing.
While I kind of suspected he'd play a part in it all, him having a route came out of left field
I actually delayed doing his route by just a little because its Kimuryo and they do what he does best.
Unfortunately this isn't really a route to romance him but more from his perspective...
I thought about it so i'll edit this in: thatt first it seemed like that? the beginning threw me off at times.
Okay so apparently one day this guy woke up in a crystal cave with no memories
and decided to just be like whatever! and went on... he ran into Rudy who took him in
and gave him a name. Rudy kind of became his family and Josef his eternal nemesis.πŸ˜‚
At first Erik had no interest in the colosseum, and wonders what is even the point it.
Captain herringtail ends up asking Erik to watch over Cecy... much to his chagrin.
So basically Erik has been watching over Cecy all this time from the shadows? damn.......
as it turns out Erik can be a bit of a tsun too, one day after an interaction with Cecy
he ended up feeling weird, as if he was sick so he chugged down some meds only
for someone to be like hey that's not how its meant to be used dumbass.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
CutiePie!
Occassional a weird boy shows up and on the second meeting refers to himself
as Pola or Pora depending how you spell it. Oddly enough it seems he could pass for a
younger version of Erik and Pola seems to know more about him and taunts
Cecy into getting an accessory off of him in exchange for information.
Cecy seems to want to do it... meanwhile I am like girl wtf you gonna turn into a robber?!
When it was a good day she had a tea party in the garden, I think it was when the bois officially
became her knights, Erik did have to hide for a brief second before they could enjoy some tea together.
At some point the kid also starts cheering Cecy and Erik on in terms of romance....
just who is he??? this was apart from seeing more of Erik was the most interesting part
of the route as well as all the cute scenes with him, their chemistry was really good too.
Unfortunately Erik has no intention of officially becoming her knight... but honestly
he pretty much was like one anyway and he's just being humble and like a guardian angel.
Turns out Erik once failed to protect something and it ties into the country's past
which is long and complicated to explain so i'm not gonna bother.
Isabelle ends up possessed by Volental again and tries to kill Cecy to restore his power.
Rudy or should I say Calmunt ends up backing them up... as Pola is in league with Volental.
Erik tells Rudy to help them escape... Erik was badly wounded but nothing
some healing magic can't fix. Now that the cat's out of the bag, its revealed that
Erik's real name is Lux and he used to be a bit of a holy knight from a different realm.
But that was a long time ago and he's more than willing to assist Cecy in dealing with Volental
since that used to be the gods job. There's trouble in the palace too since no real ruler
has been elected, the process behind this is also weird since it relies on the power of the gods
who reside in the realm Erik is from and he is technically a god too...
There's a lot that needs to be done but if Cecy relies on all her knights, including Erik
then it could work. The battle was difficult, Milan and Kier ends up KO'd so Erik tries to use
Kier for the sword... Erik apologizes since all of this is his fault, and Kier is fine with it
if its as a last resort. Then he says that it is wrong for him to exist in the same world as Cecy...
she reflects on how  brave her knights were and won't stand for Volental using her mom like this.
Rudy falls too and Erik really is he last ones standing as well, I didn't particularly like this.
Pola lost control of his power but Erik and Cecy still saved him despite Pola hating their guts
before making their escape from the flames, outside even Joseph isn't doing too well.... even Adel
and they all ended up kicking the bucket, to make matters worse the country is in ruins.
Erik thinks Volental fled to the other realm again and knows he might try to go after her again
then Cecy hugs Erik while crying since he's going to go after Volental.
He says that if he dies and is somehow born again as human, he'll definitely fall in love
with her again and then they can both be happy, or so he promises.
Benedict, cecy's cute mascot tries to cheer her up cuz after all he got dixion the holy sword
with him and then he works his magic so that a friend of him called Amos who ends up
leading her to a mysterious gate leading to the otherworld, there she meets Erik who wonders
why she is even here- but she just glomps him instead. Anyway after a heart to heart
he asks her to believe/trust in him more... since he is afterall kind of like a god
and he does kind of make a big deal of them being different from each other.
Still Cecillia's precious to him and he loves her so he gave up on the idea of being reincarnated
to find her again, since when you die its all over and is willing to fight for a future with her.
Erik was really cute when he admitted all that... Cecy was really good at convincing him.
Cecy did lash out at him for suggesting her to give up on the throne back in her country.πŸ˜‚
Also it took a while but Erik now actually wants to be her knight... well uhm he kind of already was.
The knights ended up sort of being saved as they're kind of alive in the other world idk why
but I guess Rudy pulled some strings once again. I WANT MY TEARS BACK DAMMIT!
They all try to come up with a plan to take down Volental... after that they stare lovingly
at eachother the same night which makes me go like just **** already!

Their plan ends up trying to trick Volental into giving up the dixion which is what he wants anyway
but then surprise him, someone who volunteered to help..... tried to betray them
and made a mess of things but everyone worked together quite nicely.
Everyone ends up praying for lux which gave him the boost he needed...
since he is a god of sorts he is powered by peoples faith in him.
Pola shows up last minute invoking time magic, telling Erik to hurry and shut up.
Erik manages to defeat Volental, for Cecy's sake and the future.
Sadly the knights end up disappearing...... and suddenly Cecy goes back to being a loli.
They try to fix the hourglass and Erik says it'll be find since the people here are like their gods.
Sadly to turn Cecy back to normal, she will have to lose her memories.
Turns out Pola helped out cuz he was interested in her all along... before she goes
she tells her how much she loves Erik. They end up saying farewell to each other
promising to meet again someday but Erik doesn't even really want to let go of her hands, lol.
In the epilogue, loli Cecillia wakes up having her mom by her side... its like none of
all the bad stuff happened, no one died and Volental's influence is removed so Cecy can live
a relatively normal life, she looks up at the sky thinking of something she can't put her finger on
but she is waiting for SOMEONE. Time skips till she is older again... Cecy is on better terms
with everyone even Claudia! there is no curse in this timeline. Turns out there is a weird knight
waiting for her in the colosseum and on her way she runs into her old knights untill
she finally runs into... well you know the one and only, her true knight Erik who's been
waiting for a long time just for Cecillia. Erik has also been reborn as a human
and no longer has the power he once had. Now they can live together and be happy for once.

MY GOD was this route LONG, this I will not joke about! well it makes sense why
since it brings together all the plot threads and makes a route just for Erik.
MEANWHILE THE OTHER GUYS END UP BEING UNLUCKY as the title suggests.
It kind of hurts to see how the other guys ended up in this route, it really does.😭😭😭
Erik does have a well rounded route, even if its long he had plenty of development with Cecy
so it evens out to how much of a sub character he was in other routes but its not funny
how much bias there is for this guy its like they wrote this route first and were like
oh I guess we should give some routes to the others huh?
Can't complain about the romance since it really delivered even if it had a slow start
and I'll add that the beginning threw me off a lot with Erik's own PoV and all.
This route really took its sweet time I kid you not. Also I am kind of
weak for these kind of stories, the only thing I was not fond of was the reset at the end
but maybe it was okay because what if Volental didn't exist and Cecy didn't have her curse...
well as the ending suggests, she'd actually have a normal life. Still at the same time it kind of hurts
because it made Cecy who she is but there's no other way these two could have ended up
together if it didn't happen as they're from different worlds. Also on another topic
Erik has some nice abs and his design reminds me of Alhaitham.

Fav route:
Kier > Adel > Erik > Josef > Tobi / Milan.
I liked Erik's route but not as much as Kier or Adel, mostly cuz its bloated and don't get me started
on the  huge bias for Erik, its so strong that he ended up as my fav character.
As for Toby/Milan these two didn't really stand out to me in comparison to the others
and I was the most bored throughout, only saving grace was the romance. Josef's still okay though!

Fav character:
Erik > Josef > Kier / Adel > Tobi > Milan.
This is kind of useless since I liked them all but gonna say that I couldn't stand Erik at first
as he was pretty annoying as well especially to Josef but his own route made him my fav.
Also while I liked Milan... he's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place
and I found his route to be more boring compared to the others as well
so I was glad I did him first as I progressed through the others.

Final Thoughts?
No fullcomp CG so have one of the real queen!

Honestly? I thought this was better than I thought it would be I guess it does have some problems
like the bloated final route but it was still pretty solid and it has things that you may not
be able to guess which is why I recommend going in blind.
Never did I expect it to have such a strong story and cast of characters!
It may seem kind of generic and while the artstyle reminded me of ps2 era games
its production values were still great. The lore and story was pretty good
still if you're not up for an otome game set in a monarchy with all the bells
and whistles of that attached I can't really recommend it. Nor if you expect Tsuitsui
to be some light-hearted rom-com like the title suggests since I found it to be too heavy for that
however it isn't exactly a Virche either so you won't find too much despair either. HAHA i say
but that final route really hit like a truck in some ways that the title really rings true.😭😭😭
I actually think there was a perfect balance that can make it a sweet yet bitter type of otome game.

If you value story with a decent romantic build up then I can recommend this game
but if you really don't got the patient for otome games on the lengthy side then it could be a pass.
I'd say its like radiant tale but more serious! also its not like there was never a funny moment
but that is not the focus. Also like I mentioned in the non spoiler section there was something
within the story that reminded me of avaros from the dragon prince and it can kind of
seem like an otome game version of a game of thrones as well. There are things
that no matter the route can't be changed but I thought they tried their best to present it
differently to fit the character of the route you're on, this is what kept it fresh!
its also not the type of otome game where doing one route will make you
understand it all so you have to do all to get the full picture.
I sadly found the hidden character route the most enjoyable despite it having you sit through
the whole storyline again, I guess a well written or good character can save any story huh?

The characters including the heroine were all pretty great and I think they carried the game
a lot, so even if I did not like a character at the start, by the end of their route I was sold!
especially Josef! he doesn't really give the most favorable impressions but for a poster boy
i'd say his route was pretty solid! and I even liked it more than my first route
but I think Kier's route took the cake and i'm still baffled there's no restrictions.
The only real annoyance was that regardless of route there was a tiny part
that would always happen and you couldn't skip read through it, thankfully
all routes were unique and focused on the respective character so it didn't
bother me that much since Birushana also had this problem. It just shows the scenario
was limited and they did what they could to make sure each route suited the individual
plus make sure it still tackled unique subjects, sadly the final route tackled all of it
and while it rounds everything up I really do think it could have been condensed a little.
For all my whining about the length i still think it had a well written plot
so it gets an 8/10 from me, if not for the romance in the final route or i'd have given it less.
IDK if this game will be localized but I think it has a fair enough chance considering
how many came over I guess? still I think this one due to its sheer length may not be for everyone.

Anyways Tsuitsui was a pretty good otome game, I can recommend it if you prefer
story and don't mind there not being much fluff and it focusing on plot/characters instead.
Once more be advised that Tsuitsui is a long game! its not short and sweet.
Finally just becareful with your play order since there is no restriction, the following flowed best.
Toby/Milan > Josef > Adel > Kier > Secret.

What's next? Idk there's not really many games coming out that I am dying to play
so maybe I'll look at stuff I haven't played instead while waiting for FF16 or Atelier Marie remake.

  1. I was following your live tweets about this game because there was barely any reviews on Amazon. Even the reviews now are very meh and nobody is really kinda specifying why the game was good or why it was bad. Reading your thoughts, I'm kinda glad I didn't jump the gun because I expected it to be a romantic comedy and from what it seems like, it really wasn't. I'm still kinda curious about it so maybe down the line if it goes on sale I'll get it. For some reason Amazon Japan refuses to ship it to the US though which is really weird so I'd have to wait for a digital sale from Otomate or something I guess πŸ˜“

    1. Seems like not many people bought this game, it still knows when to have fun but it felt like it was more serious and story focused than a rom-com.
