Only reason I even got this FD was cuz I wanted more romance with Ceres and the guys
since... the original game was lacking a lot in that area. As well as not giving one major
character a route which was a great injustice which this game seems to want to remedy?
OP movie URL cuz they apparently disabled embedding...
Pro's.
- Side stories are nice.
- Nice after stories for Yvess, Scien and Adolph.
- Great for Ankou fans.
Con's
- A giant π to Lukas fans.π
- Some CG's are nice but they're spread across too many different scenarios... afters feel barren
some also have awkward angles or weird face shots and I am like what is this?!
- Some afters just plainly lack any fluff or fun content.
- With the exception of Ankou's route everything was pretty short.
---
There's side stories with all the main characters and then there's the usual after stories
as well as a new side end that takes a spin on the original route from the first game.
There's also a route for Ankou, however you can't do it till you complete the Drifter story.
Also it seems they took encore literally and it is not going the be the fun kind and more in line
of what the original game was like. Lukas's left me traumatized and I cannot handle it
so I skipped the other encores. What is even worse is the encores are like 3/4ish hours
with the same experience while the emotion/after stories are like like 1/2 hours at best.
I was quite disappointed with atleast 2 of the afters as well. Ankou's route is by
far the longest and i'm pretty sure it was 8-10 hours in length... hoo boy!
The writers apparently said no, you can't have nice things and some characters apparently haven't suffered enough, so here's more despair, Ankou included. Yea I know virche wasn't exactly
a normal otome game but come on, I thought this was a FD but it didn't seem like one, even less
than raditale's. Also while some cg's were beautiful they sometimes had awkward angles
and really nice moments between the characters were hard to find especially in the afters.
So I found it hard to find anything memorable in the after stories, the only ones
I even remotely liked was Scien Brofist's cuz hurrdurr and Adolph.
For Ankou's route they had a nice prequel story called Drifter which unlocked Ankou
and the route was pretty enjoyable albeit very long, this but this game is
pretty much for him alone and everything else is there as a bonus. π
Now for the thing I am most disappointed about, it is the severe lack of fluff and/or fun
content in the afters... cuz unless you're Adolphe,Scien or Ankou they had to give that to us
via a side story and its just sad they couldn't do better for the actual afters.
I don't know if I should recommend this game unless you're a big Ankou fan
and are OK with some of the other guys not really getting much else but a few crumbs!
I'm sorry I really tried to like things in this game but I could barely find it...
most of the time I was just bored, missing even the interactions with Jinnia and Liyan.
All the fun stuff were put into side story -interlude- as well...
I guess that not everything has to be truly happy but I just found most of the afters lacking
if only they didn't bother with encore and focused more on the afters cuz it really
feels like they divided their attention too much leaving some other areas to be desired.
Idk what score to even give this FD on one hand an 8/10 just for Ankou seems a bit much
but a 5/10 or lower could make this seem like a kusoge... so I guess a 6.5 or 7/10???
cuz hey atleast half the guys had a nice after story! as wells as Ankou being a great addition.
My play order was: Lukas > Mathis > Science Brofist > Yvess > Adolphe >Drifter > Ankou.
The only good thing about this play order for the FD is that the afters will gradually get better.
Spoilers after the jump as I will be writing about the character/routes etc!
so you've been warned!!! if you don't want spoilers then don't proceed further!!!
**Ended up fixing some mistakes or adding some stuff but this post won't be edited anymore
and ain't no way I am touching encore more than I already did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Side story interlude:
they made it easy to check which scene had one or which characters it featured.
I found it sad there was no other way to implement such scenes and like I said in the
non spoiler section it made after stories have less cg's since you had to find them in here.
I think we have been robbed of a lot of things cuz Lukas using his feminine charm
to haggle was absolutely hilarious meanwhile his... after was likeπ.

Lukas.
CV Hirakawa Daisuke.
Needed more moments like this TBH... |
from Lukas's POV as well as his past with Nadia...? so its really weird to write about it.
Turns out they just ended up saying fuck it abou tthe original best ending and just
rewrote half the scenario so a different outcome could happen! but i'm not sure how any
of it was actually any better at all and this encore ended up being a waste of time to me.
During the Capuccino situation and Ceres decides to go along with it which leads
to her being put in the uguu cage of love, there's nothing to worry about at all.
Idk this was all really weird since for some reason after this the story switched to a point
where Lukas was young and still desperately trying to help his sick sister...
and Ceres found them on a rainy night. Its then when it hit me, it can't be after the best end
and those two kids Ceres saw back then are not them! Ceres sort of ends up caring for them...
Only for Ceres to then wake up again being stuck in a cage....π±π±π±
It seems that Ceres is experiencing Lukas's memories while she slept...
and if she is good enough she can come with him outside.
This continues for a while and every night she dreams of the past... eventually things go wrong
but Yvess finds her and tries to rescue her while Capuccino attempt to get away. However inside
the dream, little Lukas and Ceres did made a promise which made way for a seed of hope.
Ankou the chad ends up helping out Ceres with a way to save Lukas...
and apparently Brofist is in capuccino's way too. Just as you think things go well
and Ceres gets through to Lukas, Capuccino goes insane and wants to take control
of Brofists research plans like its rightfully his... Lukas ends up retaliating
and will drag him down to hell with him for putting him and his sister through it all.
Lukas leaves his sister with Ceres and finds himself too guilty to come back alone and still
wants to atone in his own way... by taking out Capuccino. If there's but one chance he'd like
to come back safely... so he is thankful Ceres saw him for who he truly is and not as an assassin.
Lukas eventually finishes him off and enjoys a quiet moment together with Ceres...
sadly it seems that he still ends up kicking the bucket anyway so i'm not sure what even
was the point of trying to rewrite half of it other than trying to make it seem sweeter?
when it actually had the exact same result as the best end in the first game. So much
for redemption... there is one more ending that isn't a bad end which is carnage
and it doesn't sound much better so I went in not expecting much else...
Lukas decides he has to go kill em all and can barely be reasoned with
and ends up killing Capuccine for lookig at Ceres the wrong way. Adolphe and Yvess try to stop
him for causing the mess too... and make him come to his senses.
Lukas wounds them and they back off, he eventually comes back to his senses but the result
isn't much better. What a waste of an afternoon that was like I hate how this encore
was literally just cage memes and lol u're not getting a better ending, ciao.πππ
want this guy out of my hair at this point... while going hey can it be any worse?!
Good thing there are actual after stories but the downside is they want the best
of both worlds so emotion has one for a good end and best end.
So you get the hear Lukas babble to his caged baby bird Ceres after he slaughtered
everyone, except he doesn't realize she is also dead.π Thanks otomate.
Everything is well untill there was a cave-in and he realizes she is dead...
Lukas just completely loses it and I am like why is this after a thing?
The other after story is where Ceres decides to go after Lukas in the underworld...
despite being told not to. A girl in love is gonna do what she's gotta do for her loved one.
Ceres has to watch the shinigami inflict punishment on Lukas, how to explain:
Nice things will happen but first you gotta die a hundred times which isn't even
that different from what Ceres had to experience.πππ
Eventually Ceres wakes up and Lukas is right there to wake her up like a loving husband
meanwhile I am like wtf man this has to be a dream... but it was pretty amusing.
Turns out this dream-like experience was because of Nadia his sister and Lukas had to end it...
all she wanted was for him to forget about his sins but he couldn't and he won't
but he'd like Ceres and Nadia to remain cuz it would be better for them. Ceres lashes out
at him and tells Lukas he's an idiot, its selfish to accept the sins on his own.
Ceres will join him when he asks to go back to the underworld.
Honestly Lukas would like nothing more to live a normal life with Ceres and Nadia...
so it was hard to leave that dream behind. At hell's gate a mysterious flower petal
reaches them, a girl says that he doesn't know why he did that but he did his best.
Ankou sorta gives them his blessing to being reborn... since he promised her.
Ceres and Lukas make out amongst the flames. In the epilogue Ankou makes another
pact with her and I am like wtf how does this solve anything??? aren't you
forgetting a scene? sigh Lukas getting the short end again why am I not surprised.
But don't worry you can agree with Nadia that her dream scenario is perfect so they all stay there.
Lukas after story is like what otomate forgot at the end of the original game and went like nah
its not important! and still managed to forget something in the FD like an actually epilogue
where they meet again but hey atleast its progress! i'm so upset its not even funny.
The writers are too obsessed with him getting full redemption and here am I
wanting him to redeem himself by living. I guess the writers had other plans /shrug.
Lukas is a man that definitely understands his sins so I do not understand why
he gets this treatment lmao... FFS. otomate you had one job! ONE.
Its like the writer actually refused to give this guy a happy end... so we get to waste our time
with two useless scenarios also btw in most other endings Lukas is alive and well
so I can't fathom why he has to suffer more in his own route/after. πππ
Oh apparently I made some mistakes while digesting his encore and had to go back and edit it
gomenasai... but I don't think a room full of people will care about his encore.
~
Mathis.
CV: Amasaki Kouhei.
The despair after is where he became Camyu and Ceres this Rosalie... and they're uguu'ing
happily ever after is what i'd like to say, Ceres starts getting weird symptoms but
she says she might be pregnant, Camyu wonders what name they should give it.
Ceres suggests something but the name gets cut out and Camyu dislikes it...
I'm pretty sure the name was supposed to be Mathis. Anyway Camyu starts
remembering everything... but he is in denial. Jean comes in and says he'll go fix him
and the cycle continues... with them trying to have a kid. >_>;
The best end after continues on and they experience a mostly normal daily life...
Mathis succeeds, formally as the head of his house, not that there was any competition
but he's been trying his best! Mathis is still a bit uncertain that he isn't living up to the Mathis
before he went through the reviver process, aka the Mathis Ceres loves...
atleast he realizes he isn't some broken doll that didn't do what his creator wanted.
At the end of the day Mathis is still Mathis but I feel the plot is kind of shooting itself in the foot.
They go to Brofist but the technobabbles made me doze off, he basically forces them
to work with them. Anyway Mathis starts screaming in pain, seems he is having some errors
after all. They have him examined and Dahut confirms Mathis will have a memory crash
if this goes on... Good thing is they have Scien Brofist on the case with his 9999IQ
so they're trying atleast. For good news is that they were trying to get married
but most of Mathis's problems are rooted through his parents and Jean
who fucked around and Mathis is finding out! They try to go find Jean's old lab
and they end up finding Camyu's diary which shows how much he loved Rosalie.
Camyu was looking into carrying over feelings of love through the revive process...
when they get back Mathis wants to make a grave to memorialize their attempt.
Mathis doesn't have much time so they did some nice things... till the time of the supposed crash
which doesn't quite happen but Jean did lash out at Mathis in his subconcious.
Ceres is relieved nothing bad happened... but man the cg here the fuck is this angle?!
atleast the variation was better but again man never seen characters hug like this.
Wtf was with this angle man... also he looks like Saneaki Kuroba. |
and not letting anyone else intervere. Mathis is busy writing a book after they went
through another revive process. Looks like everything is going just peachy here. >_>
Only bad part is Mathis has to relive/revive every year or so or his brain crashes....
so it is like he constantly has to reread his own notes of how much he loves Ceres
or what happened in a previous cycle, omg what bullshit this was. I didn't even
fully grasp the severity of his situation after I stopped playing for a week
or so, the unequal treatment of characters is real.
Mathis after was idk pointless! they barely had any nice moments together or CG's too
and the ones we got were either a solo shot or well awkwardly positioned. SMH.
The only good thing about Mathis's after was basically his own development...
and coming to terms with the stuff Jean did and his past. There was so much time
uwu'ing about Jean, which is like all I remember when I looked back at this. :(
Not much was memorable about any of this...... it was just spinning its wheels.
Oh apparently its not Camyu but Camille but I kept spelling it like its spoken like a clown.

Science Brofist.
CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa.
for science so brofist was able to save the country... he wants her to come back
and pretty much goes bonkers to make it happen. Yvess is apparently mad
and tries to set it straight with Scien and succeeds, Scien ends up dying... saying
something like he'll join her soon as everything goes up in flames.
Best end after: Ceres continues being brofists assistant... along with Ankou crawling around
but he tries his best to research a cure, sadly the people want him in a different field
since he is such a genius but he politely refuses as science is his call.
I swear this entire after story was more fun than the two previous one...
its like the writer got their mojo back. This route did have some sexy times as shown above
but it wasn't that engaging, some people tried to go after Ceres/Brofist again so they had to go into
hiding for a bit but I struggle to remember anything important happening other than Scien
noticing some things about Ankou that were off, he who was like thnx for noticing.
Scien finishes his research and puts it into action... but that's not the only action he gets.π
Thanks to Scien the country can finally change and move forward...
after everything is over Scien asks Ceres to marry him and she happily accepts.
Ceres hears some weird kids giggle and says they can't wait to meet sometime far into the future????
Oh man... I actually liked this after and that's probably cuz there were cute scenes in them
and decent CG's too. It just makes me sad they couldn't put the same care into every after.
Like legit, Scien is also the only character that gets anything done...
but idk the plot wasn't very engaging, still better since they atleast had
the couple have some nice moments, unlike the previous two afters.
~
Yvess.
CV: Saito Souma.
Despair after: Yvess goes through the flames for his princess.... while burning to a crisp.
Yvess then gets haunted by his gay BFF Hugo who wanted to be with him
but instead had to choose Ceres so Hugo asks him to die there with him
but then he has to watch her suffer again without being able to do anything.
Thanks otomate, this was so absolutely necessary thank you for the extension.
Best after: Ceres gets nightmares in which people blame her for everything
till Yvess soothes her and tells her its okay. Yvess really wants to dedicate
the remainder of his life to her and marry her. However it was kind of depressing
since it seemed like Yvess didn't have much time anymore and they had to hide away
from the people that went after them last time. Some old friends came to visit them
but it was pretty grim since a lot of people died.
Yvess and Ceres uguu around while Scien Brofist is doing SCIENCE...
Ankou ended up in a contract with Scien and is making him work like a bitch
because Ankou wants his precious little princess to be happy.
Yvess ends up meeting his old buddies when he drifted into the underworld
or was that a dream?! who tell him to go back to reality. Yvess wakes up in a hospital bed
cuz apparently Ceres got help while he was out! and Scien is a sensible person, thank god.
Ankou apparently formed a blood pact with Scien to find a cure so that's why...
nothing much happened other than the two figuring out what to do next while Yvess recovers.
everything seems fine till the hooded man shows up and snatches Ceres away
turns out it is all according to plan and they had to use a bait to get them to come out.
They all try to save her... Ankou deals with the hooded man while Yvess goes for Ceres.
Somehow Lukas is the one who ends up saving her, he probably broke free from his
mindcontrol but he's at his limit and leaves the rest to her hero. They still have to deal
with Dahut, who actually doesn't seem to care much anymore and wants them to kill him
but they won't since that won't end the cycle and Nadia will be sad if he's gone.
Dahut is just like whatever guess i'll go help better the world then.
Ah looks like all is well that ends well huh? somewhere out there a red lycoris
is blooming so they will go looking for that too. In the epilogue Ankou narrates
that the curse has been broken and people regain their former lives, thanks to Scien.
Its been a year but Ankou is glad Yvess was able to save Ceres.
Yvess and Ceres got married... Mathis ended up providing the wedding dress
they'll stay together no matter what happens even if they have to go to the underworld.
through the first half as it just made me miserable. It felt like being in love with some
dying man who wanted to spend the remainder of his days with you. I was relieved when Ankou
was being a wingman by making Scien work his butt off for Ceres's sake.π
I guess you know in a way Yvess is happy to be with the girl he loves while half-dying...
meanwhile I sit here like a depressed old man reaching for the next bottle.
Atleast this after story was more engaging than say Mathis and actually seemed like
it was going to get better... and it did. The end result isn't actually much different
just more fleshed out? idk but I will take it over the crap in Lukas's or even Mathis's after.
~
Adolph.
CV: Yashiro Taku.
but it doesn't actually solve anything or breaks the cycle however Adolph realizes some mistake
in trying to save her and that the Ceres of now is a different separate existence
and realizes the Ceres from that day doesn't exist anymore.
Ankou basically looses it and doesn't get it since he is still stuck in the loop
Adolph says there's no end if both of them exists, he can't stand it if he has to do this forever
its basically meaningless, Ankou just shoots himself and says he'll leave it to him
none of this solved anything and it only made everything worse.
Best after: Ceres and Adolph enjoy their daily life together... there's not much of a problem
and the opening scene is basically him saying uh she's mine back off stranger.π
There was some dumb drama where Ceres got a little sick so Adolph got to treat her well.
Everyone else show up to party hard at his old lodge, Yvess gets a little too drunk
and caused a ruckus.π
They end up running into some weird woman and Adolph
starts questioning what's normal nowadays and apologizes for his old fashioned ways
there's not much else that was noteworthy and all has been well for a year
Nadia is also recovering but she wants something to remember Dahut by
and there might be a remnant of it in the old research facility so Adolph and Ceres go back
to find it. There were some people up to no good so Adolph goes to settle things
and Ceres wants to go along. They basically don't like how the curse had been broken
and want things to go back cuz that was their eternal happiness. Adolph sorta loses
it since Ceres suffered for it for so long. They retrieved a dried flower charm with a letter
and locked up the facility for good when they left it. Nadia liked it very much.
When they get back and Adolph wants to say something important the guys interrupt them...
Later Ceres also bumps into that woman who gave her some ideas for dinner, later Ceres
wanders into the flower field to find Adolph who's busy thinking what Ankou would do.
When Ceres overhears his mumbling she wants to back off but for some reason a familiar
voice stops her so an awkward situation unfolds. Eventually he asks her to marry him
and become his wife so they can become a family together. Ceres has no reason to refuse really.
In the epilogue they have their wedding and make sure to do it in a spot where they can
see Ankou's grave, in the white licoris field. Everyone came as well.
but I guess most other guys still had a shit load of baggage to them as well as unresolved
issues, this actually makes me realize how much of virche was choose Adolph or die.
Which isn't very nice to some of the others... cuz like holy shit Adolph is exactly the
type of content I'd like to see in FD's with maybe some light-drama.
I feel like I was a shrivelled up old lady during some of the other afters but
absolutely revitalized when I get to Adolph... Good lord otomate was this so hard?!
~
Drifter.
CV: Nakamura Mitsuki.
Nice butt Ankou... |
arpechele aka pizza margharita for those who cannot spell like me. Tamaki always wanted to
visit it but ended up shipwrecked on there, he wanted to figure out what was wrong with it
and why there are black lycoris everywhere. Not even the average inhabitants know why
its not before long he notices everyone is young and there are no elderly.
He then figures he should do something... anything to help these people out.
Tamaki also adopts a kid named Noel, meets up with an old friend who also
really wants to save someone which is Adolphe before he got stuck on groundhog day.
Adolphe eventually becomes Tamaki's descendant and carries on his will
by giving him a new name; Ankou. After Ankou sets on his own path, Tamaki
continues to take care of Noel but eventually passes away but not before
he can leave a part of his mission with Noel. It was nice how Noel went to look for
Ankou so he could say farewell to Tamaki who could leave the world without regrets.
and get another perspective of the origin of it all of why Adolphe became Ankou, his past etc.
You also can't really do Ankou's route till you finish this but I honestly thought
it was still nice in terms of story.
~
Ankou.
CV: Okitsu Kazuyuki.
I finally made it to Ankou's route! honestly he's the main reason I pulled through
and some of the afters to see if there were other worthwhile things in the game.
They're nice enough to start from the beginning and by that I mean having
to sit through the prologue up to the point of meeting Ankou, Ceres just decides its better
to hang with him than be constantly accused of bring other people suffering.
Ankou also lowkey smears Adolphe as the bad guy who's lying about being able to protect her
and I am like lmao talking shit about yourself now? Some time later they find some
women who reeks of sake washed up on the shore... who ends up freeloading at their hideout.
The woman's name is Spinnel... apparently she is a soldier of some faraway army on a
different continent, she fell off the ship she was on cuz of some black lycoris and here she is.
They explain to her the curse and some other things but as long as there is booze
she'll be fine here. Wow such a simple minded person! Anyway Ankou wants
to revolt and take down Scien etc. Spinnel ends up helping out but on a few conditions
she wants Ankou's blue earrings, if they can get that she will protect Ceres with her life
cuz she doesn't work for free! its fine if they give it when the job is done.
Sadly it seems bureao is the enemy this time and they must avoid them at all costs
Yvess and co have their hands full or so to speak... Ankou ends up offering some support
since Ceres was being a worry wart but Spinnel just butts in wondering what its all about.
Adolphe ended up spotting Ceres... when Ankou was recovering and he's like finally!
you're so sus but I finally found you. Ankou says he's just been useless and hasn't been
able to do a dang thing these past 7 years. Spinnel comes between them
before they get at each others throats, lmao. Ankou later apologizes over how he...
seems to treat Adolphe when Ceres gets a little upset.
Capuccino is obviously up to no good, Spinnel seems to get along with him somehow?
she literally dragged him with her to get some booze it was hilarious.
Ceres and Ankou end up crashing at Adolphe's place and he isn't pleased
I swear those two are at each others throats over the smallest things.π
Dahut so far has been surprisingly friendly and it seems he really has a crush on Nadia
but there are things that even he wasn't sure of when they mentioned some things.
Also apparently Scien has to deal with assasination attempts but so far he got out save everytime.
Spinnel helps Ceres realize that she has to choose and make a decision about those two
guys who always end up butting heads. Afterward Ankou and Ceres have a heart to heart
and she decides to trust him and make the pact. Ankou really just wants to save her...
and Lukas will do anything even if it is really dirty work by working for Capuccino
who is really super butthurt and wants to one up Scien so bad.
Also apparently Adolphe ends up being the descendant of something and so they
want to use him as a sacrifice along side a certain someone else. Scien went underground
but is already trying to make a comeback. Scien doesn't really see Capuccino as a threat
and more as an idiot. This mess is all cuz they dug up some old book from Tamaki's days.
The monarchy basically wants to use Ceres and they end up helping Capuccino to do it
they basically just gave themselves over but something still goes wrong...
which causes people to die after drinking some weird liquid Capuccino made
thinking it was gonna save them all, it did the opposite. Amidst the chaos Ceres
saved Adolphe who was already captured earlier. Scien helps from behind the scenes
so its not like they went in there without a plan! Scien planned out the escape route too.
Turns out the reason it went wrong was Dahut who also worked behind the scenes
and basically tricked the monarchy and some people in taking a drug that would kill them.
I thought it was funny how Capuccino ended up being no issue because he wasn't
he was just being used by the other players in the game or so to speak.
They all go find the secret laboratory and Dahut shows his true colours... like in Adolphe's route
he also like says Adolphe and Ankou are like twins if anything else, Ceres just has enough
of it and just calls out to him and he starts lunging at Dahut and the hooded doppelgangers
so they can escape. Dahut fires with Ankou's gun he found lying around and Adolphe got hit
which directly affects Ankou who is like lolwhat I've already lived long enough
so as long as I can save Ceres it doesn't matter. Shit gets weird as some weird
monster shows up which ends up hurting Ceres as they try to avoid it.
Everyone tries to help so Ankou and Ceres can make a run for it...
the monster tries to carry out the will of the monarchy and starts spouting stuff
about eternity they all realize it is a threat to the island. Capuccino want to die
because he's been fooled so Spinnel punches him and tells him to get it together
since Ankou wasn't the only person she made an agreement with. Also she kind
of fancies Capuccino... since he reminds her of someone she liked.
Ceres and Ankou had a long talk again but she suddenly started taking a turn for the worst
Capuccino says she will likely end up like Ankou and suffer a lot.
Scien says there is a way to stop it... and that means fighting that weird monster.
They end up making some pre-final battle farewells about saying they will
come back and Sarome shows Ankou some kindness.
Spinnel ends up opening the way and saying only Ankou can finish this
to which he promptly decides this will be his final journey. He's been happy
to spend so much time with Ceres who promptly protests before Ankou ran off.
Yvess,Mathis, somehow the real Lukas is still alive too who end up helping her...
Ankou goes on about how he'll end this all just for Ceres and how it'll be his sacrifice for her
but Ceres shows up and says she won't let him do this atleast not like he wants.
Spinnel stabs Ankou in the back and says itsgonna be her to finish it
and I am please do because I am tired of this bullshit. Spinnel also says she doesn't
need Ankou's earrings cuz she has her own so the contract is void. Just leave it
to big sis spinnel cuz Ankou has done more than enough. After that Ankou
just says yea I get it i'll live a little longer. A normal life just like the one he promised Ceres.
Dahut comes crawling out from somewhere cuz he was busy trying to save Nadia, he actually
went back to protect her when that creature started rampaging around, d'awww.
I guess he got his wish this time cuz the arpechele is in ruins and he can be its final king
but they'll have to kill him first. Ugh what a brat to the end huh? Ankou ends up
finishing him off for good this time. After everything is over Ceres comes back with
both Adolphe and Ankou...like she promised Sarome back then.
5 years passes and things go back to normal, the lycoris start blooming white
Ceres reunites with Ankou who has made peace with things as well as his old friend Tamaki.
After: Ceres and Ankou end up taking care of the orphanage and enjoy a normal peaceful life
just like they wanted. Ankou still has a lot on his mind though... but Ceres is right there with him.
They decided to have a kid, although Ankou doesn't feel quite ready yet this child is proof of
their love and he will strife to take good care of it... and Ceres.
There was another end in which Spinnel didn't intervere and Ankou sacrifices himself
to give Ceres a future, leaving only his earrings behind. Ceres says she doesn't want
this future nor this world. She tells Ankou to wait for her as she is going to try to save him!
In the epilogue of the best end, Ankou meets her when he was trying to save Ceres still...
Ceres introduces herself as the shinigami and Ankou asks her for help and she does so gladly.
I ironically somehow liked this ending more... i'm not sure I fully understand but this
just simply reversed their roles but it was interesting so I was like whatever I guess?
Sure there were some fun moments here or there but... cute scenes between Ceres
and Ankou were hard to find, if at all. My fav CG with them ended up being in a side story too.
The overall romance just felt bittersweet... I didn't dislike that.
Most CG's were solo shots and they even reused one from the original game
which made me go huh? i've seen this one before.
As for the plot it felt like they just recycled a lot of the original game and just
presented it differently. At times I did get bored and this route was so long
I think my switch almost ran out of battery twice... at some point I started to think
they were padding it out on purpose as it was just too long and my attention just waned
since we already know who the villain is, it just spend spinning its wheels.
I'm sorry if I left out some crucial information but I just cannot be arsed
to write down everything go read it for yourself to find out the little details
i'm just happy Ankou got his little happy ending but damn did it sure take a while.

Fav after/route:
Adolph > Scien > Ankou > Yvess > Drifter > Mathis > Lukas.
Fav character:
Ankou > Scien > Yvess/Adolphe > Lukas/Mathis.
Ankou is the best boi followed by Scien and that's all that matters to me...
Final thoughts!
I expected a FD but what I got was segmented sidestories(interlude), recycling of the
original games routes(encore) and then watered down after stories(emotion)
with only a few of them being truly worth it and enjoyable.
I think this game is really only worth it for drifter and Ankou as one of the things
I really enjoyed was seeing things from the POV of that traveler and Ankou getting some love
even if it took some time cuz it wanted to add some perspective to other things.
The other things I liked would be the side stories from interlude... but it all felt so short
and it was hard to place them within routes themselves at times some even felt a bit random.
I probably sound really ungrateful but I tried to enjoy what I could here, honestly I was never
that big on virche, I was literally only here for the epilogues and Ankou.
Moving on I questioned why the despair ends which ended kind of perfectly even got an
extension in this game... some were lowkey ruined by adding further context to it.
Next the inconsistent treatment of characters isn't even funny, if you're a fan of Lukas
or Mathis don't expect much of their afters seriously don't.
They just wasted their energy on nonsense while putting the fluff in some other section
cuz god forbid Ceres has any fun canonically! then we have recycling the original routes with encore
so we're left with a watered down after story that feels unfinished. Its like a giant fuck you
if you even like Lukas or Mathis... cuz its not much better for them.
With the exception of Scien,Yvess or Adolph I did not find the after stories
or encore for that matter to be worth my time at all. Sorry I wanted to enjoy this FD
but I think otomate really screwed up here and Virch FD is only worth it if you like
Ankou, Scien, Yvess and Adolphe. So if your fav's are among those then go for it!
Forgot to mention the CG's here but you already know... solo shots yadayada weird angles...
there were a few good ones but most of them were stinkers or wtf am I looking at.
Also encore really does mean YES gimme more of that sweet despair ENCORE~~ ENCORE~~π«
I can't comment for Yvess,Mathis,Scien or Adolphe's encore but if Lukas was anything
to go by then I want nothing to do with those side ends. I was so upset by Lukas's encore
like you had a chance to make something better of it... but it is just more of the same.
Sorry but that sounds like a massive waste of time and energy so I am not putting mine in.
Atleast I got this game on a discount for 56kyen cuz I bought so many digital games on the eshop.
Its obvious they're just trying to milk virche at this point...
Can't wait for a 3rd virche game at this rate! but idk if I will get it... since i've lost some steam.
I've seen this before and its called code:realize shukufuku no mirai... (except a bit worse)
Welp, I guess it was time that sooner or later I'd hit an otomate game that I just
had trouble enjoying... I liked what I liked and then some stuff I disliked.
Time to move on to greener pastures!
Ah gotta love my otome game fd's when they pull the unfair treatment BS with its love interests and leave one if the boy's (Lukas) to almost drown while Ankou gets handholded. This game sounds like a dumpster fire btw...
ReplyDeleteNow that I think about it, it kind of does sound like a dumpster fire... especially if you take encore into account.
