Toki no Kizuna Hanayui Tsuzuri - Review

PSP box art cuz its gongeous I mean gorgeous.
Genre: VN.
Developer/publisher: Otomate
Platform: PSP,switch.
Official Site: https://www.otomate.jp/toki/switch/
Release date: 19-6-2025

Once upon a time otomate released an otome game called Toki no Kizuna
but then realized it didn't nearly have enough romance which was lost in the sauce
that was the overall story so they released a FD; Hanayui Tsuzuri.

---
Pro's
- After stories were a much needed epilogue to the original routes.
- Most other side content brought a smile to my face.
- After's are of decent length and didn't really overstay their welcome.

Con's
- New routes and flower chapter rely on Senkimaru's sad end so you could
feel lost in terms of continuity if you happened to only do the good ends in OG.
- Yachiyo's route is really aimed at a special audience so its not for everyone.
 ---

I thought the OP was pretty fire this time around and actually wanted
to listen to it most of the time I booted it up. The original game's OP
was a good jam too but it just didn't hit as good as the FD one.

As for the heroine she mostly has dropped the act of pretending to be a man and she
was much more accepting of herself. Yukina let her feminine side shine through in this FD.
Maybe for some its disappointing but I didn't mind this. The extended epilogue
really did show her at her most badass which was really good IMO.

---
After stories.
All after stories start with a brief summary of the route but it felt a bit rushed
I suppose it might be good if you need a quick refresher, other than that they were in generally
pretty good as an extended epilogue but that's about it. Doing your fav LI first is recommended.
There are choices in the after stories but it doesn't affect the outcome.
The only thing it affects is the CG variation so there's not much to worry about
and you can play at your leasure without fear of bad ends which the original had a lot of.

New routes.
As you know there are new routes for Shiyuu and Yachiyo but honestly they're a hit or miss.
I didn't like Yachiyo's because it is really aimed at a specific audience that is not for me.
Shiyuu's route was a lot better and more well rounded, I actually cared about him.
Before I played this FD I wasn't sure when these took place but it made sense
for it to happen after Senkimaru's sad end as she doesn't end up with anyone
and certain characters are alive except someone and Yukina basically is the head honcho.
The new routes didn't have any choices so it was like reading a novel.
 ---

There's a Inbetween chapter that takes place sometime during the original game
with some choices that may give extra CG with the chosen LI.
Honestly I don't really like this sort of content that's supposed to make up for
the lack of fun times in the original. Its hard to get into it so i'd rather prefer a scenario
after endings of the original game and that did exist in this game this just wasn't it.
In terms of length it was maybe about 30 mins to an hour the first time through.
You will pretty much skip half of it when doing another character in this section.
I only bothered with Kazuya for this and vibed through some of the others
but it was kinda funny how he was constantly so listless, it actually was a problem.πŸ˜‚

Other than that there's the flower chapter that takes place after Senkimaru's sad ending
which acts as an extended epilogue but without any romance. After doing both Inbetween
and flower chapter you unlock something called twelve tales which is pretty much the
conclusion of the story as it wrap up the series well enough. I did this last. There's also some
unlockable bonus side stories that you get by finishing every guy's after story/new route.
Plenty of content all around but some of it can be skipped if you had your fill.
  ---

Overall its a solid FD with plenty of content value.
Its okay to play it back to back because most routes needed the extended epilogues
but had the switch port not included this then i'd be disappointed so I am glad it is.
It was nice there's still a scenario that explores one sad end of the original game
but the only thing it was good at was formally closing off the Toki no Kizuna saga.
The other extra bonus content was nice, it even reminded me of ken ga kimi's FD
but I don't think it was as loaded which was a good thing imo.
If you liked a character in the original its definitely worth to check out their after story
in this FD but its okay to skip the ones for characters you didn't really like.
Personally for me only Kazuya and Senkimaru's afters were worth it as well as Shiyuu's route
others just weren't as engaging or interesting to me. Maybe its cuz I didn't like all LI equally.
I'll admit I feel like I forced myself through some of these afters and new routes
but I can see this isn't a bad FD, in fact its pretty good addition
since the original left much to be desired.
8/10
This FD has just the right amount of content that there is not a lack of volume or too much of it.
A lot FD's just tend to stop at afters or new routes. Its rare to get a bunch of
chibi side stories along with an extended epilogue of a less than ideal ending.
This was 20 hours of good stuff which may stretch to 25+ish if you do everything.

Route babbles after the jump as well as my fav CG's, its not really a digest but commentary.
Also disclaimer i'm sorry if I didn't like every LI we can't all like the same things!
if you don't like what you're reading then just stop and close the browser.

My play order:
Kazuya > Chitose > Yachiyo > Kazutake > Shin > Senkimaru > Shiyuu.

Kazuya😌
CV: Kamiya Hiroshi.
I thought this was going to focus on those who got away and it did to some extend
but Kazuya also wanted her to come to his village and introduce her to his family.
It felt like it delivered a much needed epilogue for the two of them.
I think the original route did have sweet moments but the FD doubled up on those
and it felt more relaxing due to the setting being less serious.😊
I thought Kazuya was adorable though due to him being a loner he is still a bit
embarrassed to share a room together with Yukina. I also felt she was quite direct
which made the interactions delightful. Kazuya was so... woosh to die for.

They also had a flashback about his parents and he's very serious about protecting
his village, turns out his father knew the legend masamune date
and the cause of his father was also related to him. It sounded like Kazuya
has a lot of guild over what happened back then. Ultimately they found solace
with Ieyashu but the things that happened changed him
Due to being with Yukina all the time he also regained a bit of hope
and he came back to his village to pay respects and set things right.
Yukina goes out by herself into the village and an annoying kid starts a snowball fight with her.πŸ˜‚
Yukina got so worked up she got into it a little bit too much and drags Kazuya into it.
When she is changing Kazuya barges in and gives her a flower crown
even tho it really obvious how he feels by now this felt like a formal confession.
This scene was absolutely perfect, peak for an otome game.
Them trying to sleep together was adorable, I want to scream 2nd hand embarrassment is real!!!
Ieyashu also compliments Yukina that she is much more beautiful now and she lacked
that when she was acting like a tomboy and forcing her feminine side away.
Sadly Masanobu entered the chat and sparks started to fly, Kazuya can't seem to stand him.
It took a word from Ieyashu to calm things down... when they go back to Yasehime
they get congratulated for their... engagement vows and she gets especially festive.
Either way she wishes Yukina all the best because she's her little sister.
Oh right that didn't get revealed in Kazuya's route so its kinda new...
either way everyone gets together to see the two of them go off again.
They end up running into Shiyuu too who has been sort of wandering looking for a place to die
but not much happened and I felt like it was kind of brushed over. Poor Shiyuu...
The ending with the sappy stuff felt kind of redundant at this point but it was a pretty decent
after story that gave a much better outlook on our couples future than the original game ever did.
Also I usually don't like solo shots as they can be bland but this game did them really well!
When I say Kazuya is to die for I mean it... like just look at him i'm melting.

Chitose😊
CV: Itou Kentarou.
Chitose's after was pretty good as well but it focused a lot on the fact he's a chieftain now
with his return to his village and how he's dealing with stuff now.
Yukina was there almost every step of the way and try to support him the best she can.
Chitose also teases Yukina a lot  but he also got teased alot by the other guys.
They do visit Yasehime who actually wants to spend more time with Yukina but she
acknowledges that she's allowed to have her own life and get married to her beloved.
Other than that despite there being a lot of hilarity I found it to be rather meh in terms of plot...
Chitose sort of misunderstood so Yukina had to say it to him loud and clear
and she's not staying in the oni village and she goes back with him.
Felt kinda dumb tbh and I thought it was obvious they didn't have much material to work with.
Overall Chitose's after was still good because the original game's route kinda ended abruptly
and this was a much better resolution but I could have done without Toyohisa's last moments
as just Chitose talking about it would have been good enough for me.
Also Chitose was such a tsunderella when trying to talk about his feelings which was hilarious
he never really seemed that tsundere in the original but the FD really showed it.
Hmmm idk why but when I look back on it I just don't find much to be memorable
or something that stood out besides some hilarity here or there which is kind of sad
but it was kinda bittersweet and I am happy for the both of them.

Yachiyo.πŸ˜¨πŸ˜±πŸ’€
CV: Tachibana Shinnosuke.
I was actually going to do all of the afters first but after Chitose
decided to do Yachiyo's route mostly just to get him out of my hair.
I was mostly just vibing but I was suprised how it started from his POV
and there were no choices, it showed some scenes from the past and the beginning.
Don't worry the POV eventually switches to the heroine and seems this route takes place
after the sad end of Senkimaru. Yachiyo basically just waltzes into the oni village going
hey guys what's up? πŸ˜… I remember in Senki's sad end they were both alive so this make
sense and unfortunately that end is insanely open ended so you can write anything really.
Before the Jiji's realize he's up to no good thread boy ends up cutting his own hair
but due to this he had no sprite for a while which was really awkward.
Don't worry he has a new sprite with his sexy short hair, lol.
Either way Yukina decides to give him the benefit of the doubt and works with him
and he ends up playing a game with her. Yachiyo basically had a shit past
and wants to get revenge but most of that now is a tale of the past.
This mothertrucker doesn't believe in this thing called bonds cuz where he's from
oni's learn to look out for themselves. Yukina tries to reason with him which lead
to a very ''I can fix him'' route but his behavior just rubbed me the wrong way and I didn't
really enjoy it so I was left saying after the attempted strangling of Yukina; who asked for this?!πŸ’€
Yasehime speaks through Yukina in her mind or rather a memory of her, the whole thing threw me off.
Through this she tries to get a message across that Yasehime wants him to be happy
but this just makes him angery. Yukina is so persistant in trying to change his ways
its hilarious meanwhile Shiyuu is just vibing but Yachi isn't taking his shit either.
Even Senki tries to butt in and Yachi just laughs. After he leaves he's like F@#k! I should have
killed her! Yukina isn't going to give him up or let him down so she visits because
Senki and Shiyuu support her in this endeavor. At this point I am still like
why TF does this route exist... sure it gives insights but I don't want it
or rather I am not the audience. However I know this stuff does appeal to others..........
Yachiyo is such a jerk and I wanted to literally punch him for being so inconsiderate
like he just mocks Yukina's attempt to convey Yasehime's words through a letter.
For some reason Yachiyo still sees some light in Yukina but it was pretty difficult for me
to enjoy this romance between them. Maybe people who like Yang from Piofiore may enjoy this.
In the end Yukina has to try and make this miserable man happy or he may kill her? eeeeeh okay.
The epilogue was hilarious cuz he gets kind of jealous at the idea of her getting with anyone else
but no matter then he will just get her back. Oh so he's one of those now, great.
I think he's more or less a misguided psycho who became a bit obsessed with Yukina displaying
such an interest in him anyways his happiness is her problem now, adios amigos!

4/10
You can't fix him but you can try....?
Honestly this new route for Yachiyo did nothing to sell me on him, too much drama
and too little romance, I can count on one hand the scene I liked and that was the ending.
A trash character gets a trash route, where have I seen that before? puss in combat boots perhaps?
Have I ever rated a route that low? I don't think so... You know what? i'd pick Yori
from UtaChro over this guy. Maybe Yang too- nah hell no!πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€
~

Kazutake😊
CV: Nojima Kenji.
Okay I mostly just vibed my way through this after
but it was mostly just wedding preparations, Kazutake
also had the least amount of choices compared to the other afters.
Do I even have a say in the matter? not really.
Yukina wanted to spar with Kazutake but he has his principles and all.......
he was a bit impressed with her this time though which lead to a steamy kabedon.
Yasehime was also very excitable but who wouldn't be when your sister is getting wed.
I thought Kazutake had the sexiest CG's so far but this after didn't really do much
to make me like him more.  Looking back I don't like Yukina forcing herself to fit the image of
a man so seeing her show her natural feminine side is like a breath of fresh air. Kazutake
is a gentle soul but this after made it seem like it wanted to go places it couldn't go.πŸ˜…
Hideie almost thought it was his route, after not seeing Yukina a long time
and acts like they're lovers or something. Kazutake told him
to F@#k off but other than that I don't remember much.
In the end the after story is pretty fine and it gives a much better outlook on their future together
than the original ever did as well as give it all more depth. It was bittersweet but also a bit sad
since it seems specifically here there's much work to do and it ain't gonna be all happy
which is fine since that how life works. I think all afters had this but its more obvious here.
This after's biggest crime is having such a big focus on the wedding but the wedding CG sucked
like almost every other LI got a better wedding CG, even Kazuya flower crown scene topped this.
They barely showing the dress not to mention the lack of focus on the heroine's face but I forgive it
since the above CG as well as the epilogue CG was really good. I am easy to please I guess?
Aww shit its too late now she's gonna have his babies.πŸ’€

Shin.😰
CV: Hino Satoshi.
Aww yea time for Shin's after! I didn't have any expectations.
Shin had the most otome route in the original and his after
certainly brought in some steam to that so I suppose
Shin fans will most likely be satisfied with this.
None of it was very deep but smut doesn't need to be!
overall the vibe was pretty relaxing, it focused a lot on the fact
that he is treated like a god in his village and due to that he's very busy.
Though from another angle it could look like he was playing hooky.πŸ˜…
There was some drama about Yukina wanting to look for something
in the river at night and her not listening to Shin trying to help. Thankfully
she listened to reason but Yukina was so stubborn. Shin immediately
wanted to make up after their little fight which was cute.
Hmm I suppose its okay but this after almost overstayed its welcome
some stuff felt the same as others just presented differently, I suppose
even the FD can't shake off the repetitiveness of the original.
Though despite getting married they each had their own lives and responsibilities
which I think is what really shined in this after story. So I can't be that harsh on it.
In the end they make an oath similar to the one they did previously back in the original game
and also get married, the CG for it was better than Kazutake's, it was really beautiful.
In the epilogue Yukina bounches back and forth from her village to Shin and then...
he just starts giving me weird vibes that makes me go Nope.avi.
I appreciate the extended epilogue to the original route but I guess this just shows
that Shin's not really my favorite character which is Kazuya by a mile and then some.
6.9/10

SenkimaruπŸ˜†
CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko.
Time to wash off that bad feeling I was left with after the previous after story.
This had a more serious tone to it from the start and it showed there's still
a lot of work to be done after what had transpired previously
some people from the exiled clan even blame Yasehime and the other demon's.
Due Yukina being here with Senkimaru they're surprised because they would never right?
Yukina tries to convey Yasehime's words to them and undo the damage of the fact they were exiled.
It isn't easy trying to convince them to go to a safer place either. Senkimaru tries to reassure
his clanmates that it isn't a trap or something. Which eventually leads to Senki getting teased
for being a tsun-tsun and not having a chance with this chick. He gets beet red while yelling
in respose; THIS IS MY WOMAN, GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT?! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Him being such a tsun-tsun lead to a funny scene too afterwards.
The real challenge this route was confronting Yachiyo who's kinda the big bad
and he just sorta fell off the radar when Yasehime went bonkers in the original game.
Seems like Yachiyo is on a journey of his own and things remain relatively peaceful
but as long as Senki has Yukina at her side he feels a lot stronger.
Yachiyo overheard him saying that as he crept from the bushes after he left.πŸ˜‚
He then proceeds to troll further but Senki has had enough of him and yanks his chain.
Of course it did focus on their relationship but Yukina did wonder about his dream
and I thought all the romance scenes were really cute and well implemented.
Random drama where Yukina left a letter for Senkimaru and went back to Yase's village for a bit.
Cue Senki chasing her and getting upset, bitch don't just up and leave!
Yukina apologizes but Senki really drills it into her he hurt her by just leaving like that.
Honestly I think Senki had all the right to be upset, you don't just do that to someone.
Separation anxiety is real in this after so he asks her to live with him from now on, cute.
It couldn't happen right away as there was things that had to be done but one day
she shows up at Senki's village and he really missed her. The feeling's all mutual.
For some reason the three jiji's followed her who get all excited about their future children.
They get married but idk why it felt kind of rushed in and didn't feel
as natural as in say Kazutake's or Shin's after. It felt like a shotgun wedding.
I say that cuz Senki didn't even expect her that day... which leads to the Jiji's visiting
and the wedding it all happened really fast I couldn't believe my eyes.
Senki also is a worrywart and doesn't like the idea of her suddenly disappearing
so Yukina reassures him right away that this won't happen again.
Were most of the other afters boring or was this genuinely fun or interesting?
i'm not even that big of a Senkimaru fan but I liked his after story a lot.
Maybe its because I got to see him act like the tsundere he was because
there was not enough of that in the original game which was lost in the sauce.
There were a lot of comedic moments which balanced out some of the heavier stuff
so all in all I can't complain, maybe about the rushed wedding scene but the epilogue was
pretty nice so not by much. Senkimaru's after was just good all around!

Shiyuu.πŸ˜„
CV: Irino Miyu.
I almost forgot about him but its time to check up on this guy
or by going from the CG above is he checking up on me?!
Much like Yachiyo's route it gave a lot more depth to his situation
from his POV and how he joined team shady, Shiyuu is after Mitsunari's ass
for a bunch of shit related to Toyotomi, We already know he doesn't really
care how he gets it done even if he dies he'd be fine with it.
In the present which takes place after Senkimaru's sad end; Senkimaru tries
to reason with the other two shadies. They both don't seem to care at first
and Yachiyo just waltzes off. Shiyuu is like whatever but then has second thoughts.
Maybe just this once he'd like to go back to Yase's village. Honestly it was a slow route
and he ends up accepting the blame for killing Yukina's sister while bleeding to death after a scuffle.
Yukina and the Jiji's save his life but turns out this mothertrucker wanted to die
but other than that he appears very cheerful. He's basically just vibing around
and says Yukina is like a mom taking care of everything around the house.
Shiyuu later admits that he doesn't hate Mitsunari personally and his beef
solely lies with the Toyotomi. Shiyuu's clan basically was used
and if found out they could meet the same fate as the exiled clan.
Senkimaru doesn't seem to like having Shiyuu lounge around and wants him to get out.
Shiyuu jests its cuz he's in love with his beloved Yukina. Uhm sorry but not your route!
Shiyuu continues to egg Senkimaru on which just continues the hilarious back and forth.
For some reason Yachiyo was much more approachable than in his own route go figure but he
never stops calling Yukina a little rat. Pretty sure its affectionate or do I have stockholm syndrome?
Shiyuu has a lot of grief over what happened with his clan and he struggles
to see the meaning to continue to live. He bears the burden of his entire clan.
Yachiyo and Senki overhear everything and decide to chip in because he's like a little brother.
Even saying if he wants to die so much he could help him...
Yukina didn't let it happen and jumps between them.
Shiyuu mumbles that he does fear death now... so maybe he will stop chasing it.
Yachiyo then jokes that he wasn't going to do it but uh you never know with that guy.πŸ’€
Yukina is still worried so she keeps visiting him till he confirms it himself
the rest was for the most part pretty chill which is nice cuz it had heavy undertones.
Shiyuu decides to get his shit together and go on a journey of sorts to set things right
of course Yukina tries to stop him so he apologizes and thanks her for everything.
Sometime later he visits Yukina again and he's doing just fine, he teases her for not
believing in him more. Shiyuu pecks her on the cheek and says he might have fallen for her.
Awww YES! this was really cute and it just makes Yachiyo seem like he's butthurt or something.
Honestly this was a lot better than Yachiyo's route and there were actual cute scenes
between Yukina and Shiyuu, it didn't take untill the ending for such things to happen
and I could see their bond develop little by little. Unfortunately he did feel more
like a little brother than a love interest. So I felt slightly conflicted but the romance
wasn't as awful and it was atleast present unlike Yachiyo's route.
Shiyuu just wasn't as much of an asshole as Yachiyo but he had his own set of issues
like him just wanting to die or attempting to do so. Due to this it wasn't a nice route
but it also wasn't the absolute worse so I can still give it a better rating.
8.5/10
I have no regrets doing Shiyuu's new route last.

Flower chapter
This is an epilogue to Senkimaru's sad end which sort of acts like a true end in the original game.
It starts with Yukina having a strange dream and life just sort of goes on for her
as she is now the new Yasehime since her sister did not survive that battle.
She runs into all of the LI's and spends more time with them.
They end up holding a special ceremony where they honor their bonds with eachother
and swear allegiance to the new Yasehime to work towards a better future.
You get to choose whichever guy you spend time with, just a cute moment
for both of them. I chose Kazuya since I like him the most and it was really sweet
and before he leaves he says he'd like her hand but he will wait till she's ready.
I suppose its to prevent this from being too open ended but it also doesn't tie into his route
so it felt a little awkward to me since this stuff branched from Senkimaru's route.
I am not sure how Twelve tales actually unlocks, I did two inbetween chapters
and two flower chapters, then selected IDK and 12 tales unlocked.
I still ended up collecting the remaining CG's before I went into what's next.

Twelve tales.
Yukina has another dream of something that's about to happen, she tells about
her dream to one of the jiji's but the reason Yukina is having them now
is because shehas taken over the role of Yasehime and the previous ones
all had some sort of precog ability. Well that makes sense I guess!
With this ability she is supposed to lead the demon clan's and towards a better path.
Some random new oni shows up and demands to be taken to a village
since the times are changing, Shin talks about this with Kazutake since
it affected him directly due to being highly worshipped by humans.
Everything mostly seems fine but things are happening
its related to the sentan medicine which turns people into demons.
I find it hilarious they touch upon this right now but I thought the link to Hakuouki
was kinda weak as it was so this is actually an ending for another beginning.
We already know Masanobu is behind the stuff but how is it linked to what is happening now?
They have to fight them eventually now and Yukina wants to join the fight
but she is Yasehime now so it won't be like it used to be. Kazuya seems to support
her coming and they all eventually say they'll protect her. Chitose gets a bit jealous about this.
The Jiji's say its time for them to go and they know with Yukina at the head
it will all turn alright. Because they will be right with her as well as everyone else.
They fight the mysterious oni's but this was really the only way to finish the whole
super soldiers via drugs thing which is what eventually ties into Hakuoki.
The weirdoes ended up losing because everyone was that strong
however despite asking to be killed, Yukina doesn't let it happen.
One of them strikes her but she stopped their blade which sort of surprised them
everyone else looks at her and Chitose says their princess is the coolest ever.
Those mothertruckers went after the new yasehime cuz they thought
she was some weaksauce but they got their asses whooped.πŸ˜‚
It seems everyone got new roles and they will still be in touch.
I don't know if I understood it right but they took care of the remnants
and things ending the way it was to prevent some kind of power struggle.
To put it in simpler terms Yukina ends up being the girlboss of them all.

6/10
I guess it was okay... and a decent enough hook to a certain game franchise.
The only part that I thought was odd was when they acted like stuff from
Shiyuu's route and Yachiyo's had happened here too. Like I understand
that here they were friendlier but those routes were separate that's not how it works!
In a way it makes sense? still felt weird. Other than that 12 tales was just fine way to end things.
I guess I can list Toki no Kizuna under otome games with a girlboss protagonist.πŸ˜‚
~

Fav route:
Senkimaru / Kazuya > Shiyuu >  Chitose > Kazutake > Shin > 12 tales > Yachiyo.
Its weird but I only really loved Kazuya's after?! Chitose was okay
and for the other afters atleast I can say that it was a nice extended epilogue
but that's really it. I guess it just showed who my fav LI was.πŸ˜…
Reason why Shin is lower than Kazutake is because Shin gave me this gross weird vibe
at the end of his after while Kazutake actually felt somewhat fulfilling. The tables have turned!
I don't want to talk about Yachiyo but I think he's better off as a side character...
his route did nothing for me and its so obvious its designed for a certain audience.πŸ’€
I'm just glad Shiyuu's route was nothing like it and I actually could care about him.

Fav character:
Kazuya > Senkimaru > Chitose / Shiyuu > Shin > Kazutake > The three Jiji's > Yachiyo.
I guess there's not much point to this other than to show who I really like.

Final Thoughts?!
Not sure if there was a Fullcomp CG but I liked this group shot from inbetween chapter.
I thought this FD was pretty much the cherry on top for the original game
and it was definitely worth it to check out the FD. It made me wonder what they
had to sacrifice to make this happen but its kinda sad that the original game
wasn't as great as its FD. This is basically where all the romance and fun stuff was
which is what they forgot in the original. To me it also felt like an apology.
One thing that I think Toki no Kizuna does really well is that  it illustrates
how a couple can't always be together this added a sense of realism.
I didn't really like twelve tales as much as i'd have liked but I guess
it showed Yukina's a real girlboss so I can't be too hard on it.

The pacing was also pretty good and nothing felt like it dragged on too much
which was a relief due to the slow pace of the original. I guess the afters can feel short
but I don't want them to be 6 hours either so the 2-3 hours were fine.
New routes were slightly longer than the afters but don't quote me on that I didn't keep track
**I don't think I spend more than 4/5 hours on the new routes so it wasn't that long either.
I think it was just right in terms of length but in terms of liking the after stories
it depends wholly on the character themselves, it was a hit or miss for me.
I gotta add that had I gotten Toki no Kizuna back in the PSP days
I may not have gotten the FD and just moved on immediately
so its a blessing the FD was included and I am grateful for it
since without it I feel like its a lukewarm experience.
I still want the Toki no Kizuna games to get a proper localization, it may not
have the most stellar story ever but it deserves more than just that mobile port.
I'd rate the switch port a 7/10 as a whole which is fair but individually
I give the original game a 6/10 and itts FD a 8/10.

TL;DR this FD was really good in delivering what was missing in the original
and wrapping up the Toki no Kizuna saga in a satisfying manner.
As a Kazuya fan I was very pleased with his after but that Yachiyo route?
nah that's gonna be a no from me bruh. πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

What's next? I guess Toki no Kizuna's a wrap with this one...
yea I wasn't gonna do both games in single post, I did that once
and oh boy I remember it was just a cluttered mess, no thanks.
I am cautiously optimistic with Mononoke Chigiri and 9rip sequel.
Till then I will bide the time with UtaChro's FD.
Matsurika's sequel is still a long ways off but I am not interested in anything
else from otomate, so it seems its time to slowly bid the genre adieu.
Honestly lately I only want to play games I really want to play so if a new game
or a old one on a sale doesn't have this magic pull I am skipping it.
