9 R.I.P - Review

 Genre: VN.
Developer/publisher: Otomate.
Platform: Switch.
Official Site: https://www.otomate.jp/9rip/
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v38068
Release date: 2023-06-29.

Otomate's latest visual novel! I didn't get started on it right away because
I was busy with FF16 but I still wanted to give this game a shot since it seemed interesting
and they brought back some golden-era seiyuu's I hadn't heard in a while. Oh boy! they
got me nostalgic for Kakki, KENN, Nobuhiko and Shinnosuke Tachibana alright!
I am not too familiar with Azakami or Shun'ichi though but it is always good
to see otomate try to use less popular seiyuus. Other than that I went in very blind
I didn't even know it was gonna be an occult mystery with suspense!

Game/story is presented as an occult mystery about people being spirited away...
The heroine Misa ends up hearing some scary stories/rumors and then she had a strange encounter
in the school hallway, she was also worried over her education when an accident happens...
Due to that Misa finds out crossed over to the spirit realm, most of the love interests
are spirits and such. I don't want to say too much so i'll stop her since its really better
if you don't know too much and can find it out on your own.

Pro's
- Story/character driven, good amount of suspense.
- Art, cg's are very well done.
- Music fits the mood and theme of the game.
- Short but it doesn't feel longer than it needs to be.
- Great heroine, she takes initiative.

Con's
 - 1 route has no epilogue cg's.πŸ’€
- High amount of bad ends.

The game can have a little bit of suspense too... but at times it can also be relaxing.
There was enough time to get to know the characters during the common route parts but who
you meet there depends on an early game choice, this was good since it kept each playthrough fresh.
Also it is best going into this game blind as knowing too much could ruin the suspense.

First thing I notice is that there are 8(9 if you count the final) routes, well this can
go both ways but I hoped this wouldn't be too long of a VN and it wasn't
the pacing was okay, it moved at a good pace and there was hardly a dull moment!
so I was happy it respects your time, maybe the love process was a little fast
and most characters are nice and easy to like. Of course there are exceptions
and certain characters could not be your cup of tea atleast that was me with Minami.
On the other hand my favorite was Kojou followed by Koharu, Sena and Yukimaro.

Due to characters being paired up and share a common route it makes the most sense
to do the other characters route/end right after. Also even if they shared a common route
they did infact have a individual route and it didn't feel like one character took up more time.
I was relieved at this since I was worried of there being too much shared plot.

The heroine Misa was great and good at taking some initiatives, I didn't find her annoying
and considering what she goes through... she handled it pretty well.

This game does have bad endings so if you want to avoid those or not in the mood
a guide is recommended. I do think the bad ends were still worth doing even if
they had no CG, as sometimes they gave little details or for better or worse
showed another side of a character.

System was your standard stuff but in one route they had you input your characters
name and you could do it manually which threw the entire jpn dictionary at you. xD
Thankfully you could autofill Misa's name which begs the question... why even bother?
The bad end gotten if you fill it in wrong can be gotten through another choice too...
this was a really dumb design choice that makes 0 sense.

Art, looked really nice and before I played I was more positive about it
than I initially was about tsuitsui, so IDK if that says something other than its good.
The CG's were all well done, even if the amount was low its 7/8 there are variations
so i'm on the side of i'd rather most be of quality than half of them be looking off.
9rip also has 8 routes and one finale which is more than the usual 6 or 7 so I think
that says a lot and there's nothing wrong with it. Cg's are nice but it shouldn't be
the whole reason to buy a game, then you're better of buying an artbook!
Music was fine, I had no complaints and it fit the mood. ED themes change
depending which pair of love interests you go after which was nice.

I think I can recommend 9rip if you don't want a visual novel that is on the long side
but still want something with an engaging plot, don't mind it being an occult mystery
that could test your nerves a little (its nothing too scary) and one or more characters interest you.
This was a very good life/death character drama type of otome game
the only real down side I can think of is the number of routes since by the time
I reached the final route I was kind of burned, thankfully it wasn't as long
as a certain character from Tsuitsui but it was still a nice finish even if it was short.
9/10
I can't ironically give this any less than a 9 because of a bunch of facts
and how refreshing each set of routes was, it balanced everything out nicely.

My play order:
Koyou > Sena  >  Kureha > Hibiki> Koharu > Yukimaro > Minami > Seiya > Touka.

Recommended play order:
It was hard to come up with a recommended order I think this works nicely:
[Kureha > Hibiki]  > [Koyou > Sena] > [Minami > Seiya] > [Koharu > Yukimaro] > Touka.
You could switch some pairs up due to preference but things to note is that
Koharu/Yukimaro is a bit of a healing route and had more fluff compared to others... it can
either be done after Kureha/Hibiki or after Minami/Seiya. Finally Kojou/Sena may be best
done before Minami/Seiya... it just works better in terms of story elements
same goes for making sure Koharu is done after Hibiki. Of course you could
change something due to preference, like even my own play order works out.
There's not much choice but to do Touka last as his only unlocks after doing all
anyway I hope this information was helpful in deciding a route order.

Character rambles and my fav cg's after the jump! the spoiler free zone ends here.
I should add that 9RIP is one of those visual novels that is best going in blind
as route summaries/thoughts etc could reveal too much.
So if you want to go in blind stop reading here cuz there will be spoilers!

Koyou.
CV: Suzuki Ryota.
Koyou is a ghost who wanders around... he is on mostly good terms with Kureha
and very good friends with Sena. Koyou might seem rude but he doesn't mean to, he can be
kind of straight-forward. Its basically revealed in Koyou's common route events that
Misa's printout that would get her into college/university was torn and she tried to
find the pieces however then Misa ended up in an   an accident and ends up being
like one of those ghosts you hear rumors about, Misa also has holes in her memory
and at times doesn't fully remember, one of her best friends Sayaka said she is
responsible... because Misa ended up having good enough grades to get into a certain school
but she found out Misa got into a different university/college than her which upsets her.
Sayaka heard about and went to some website that could make your wish come true...
so ever since the incident with Misa happened Sayaka has been blaming herself and has regrets.
Tsubasa said its not entirely her fault and Tsubasa forgives her since there's obviously more to it
they all wiill try their best to save Misa and Koyou was already looking into her incident
and there might still be a way to save her. Misa isn't actually dead but is basically uguu'ing
around like Ayu Tsukimiya of Kanon. Misa also frequently runs into this girl called Reika
who kind of warned her about something, as to becareful to interact with certain guys.
This gave me a mega redflag that she was up to no good and I couldn't be more right.
Kojou goes on about some stalker which turns out to be this Reika... who is also a ghost.
Reika also calls him by another name Yozora, it seems they have a history.
Now that Misa is growing close with Kojou, Reika starts seeing her as a nuisance since Koyou
is the one she is so in love with. Koyou already knew this and wants to settle things with her.
Reika's the reason the two ended up... like this as ghosts. They already knew each other
but Reika was so infatuated with Koyou that when she thought he migh be seeing someone else
they had a fight and she flipped, Koyou's caught fire and they both died and become ghosts.
Misa ended up hurt by Reika and then in a dream a weird shadow says how she'll need to
life cuz its no good if she's dead as this shadow is an incubus. Misa wakes up and finds
herself in another place with the other ghosts and spirits... thanks to some special flower
Misa was able to recover and Koyou is even more determined to settle things with Reika
as he should have done long ago. Also Misa ends up confessing her feelings
to Kojou and just like kisses him, oh my!
Afterwards Misa wanders into the town and runs into a meek boy who lured her into an alley...
who then reveals himself to be an incubus that same incubus that came to her in a dream!
thankfully Kojou found her and tells her to not look into his eyes and they get away from it.
Kojou hopes they can both wake up in the hospital and make Reika give up...
that's right Kojou isn't deadand his situation is similar to Misa.
For the heaven end: Returned to the human world Misa will try having faith in Kojou.
At the park she run into Sena who wants to tag along since he thinks its bad news to go
after someone like that plus he was always being saved my Kojou so now he wants to help him.
Kojou confronts Reika who thinks she completely understands him and knows whats best...
he asks if she really loves him she'll call him by his real name and not Yozora
since if Reika knows Kojou so well, she must know his name right?
Koyou was a streamer and Reika knew him as Yozora... which is why she's infatuated with him.
Reika goes crazy and Sena ends up jumping infront of Kojou, then Seiya and
Kureha arrive to take care of the situation. With the situation resolved they
return to the spirit world, Kojou knows its time for Misa to return to her world
but Misa is like nope! I want to stay by your side! before Kojou can return the feelings
Misa covers his mouth. Kojou is against her remaining here with him
but he still wants to be together so they work something out but it needs time.
At best they will both be reborn and restart or was it reset/restart their lives...
and they both board the train to their next destination.
God, a new life begins here: Misa brings up the flower petal thing to Sena and as Kojou struggles
with Reika Seiya arrives... he offers Misa and Kojou to return to their previous bodies that were
both in a coma  and he sends them off. This is all because of Sena, he sacrificed something so that
this could happen... he jokes that if the two have a kid they should name it after him.😭😭😭
In the epilogue they properly reunite and all's well that ends well but at what cost?
Bad end 1: When Misa decides to ignore Minami, he still reaches out and in an instant
the flower that Misa had on her shrivels up.  Minami ends up chasing his tone and
says something like; well now you get to play with me in the darkness.
Bad end 2: Misa doesn't call Koyou and ends up watching him stab Reika...
and he's all surprised like why are you here? he says he was caught by some black mist
but now he's ashamed he hurt someone and wants to atone. So from now on
he wants to protect Sena and all ghosts. Koyou wants her to return to her own body.
Bad end 3: At some point Misa had to make a choice to remain in that world
and well when she does her body remains in a comatose state.
Bad end 4: Misa finds out the truth of the state she is in and visits her body...
and overhears how her mom compares it to her husband. Tsubasa says this time it'll
be different and Misa will wake up. Then Sayaka walks in and starts acting weird and does
something to the life supports system and then jumps out of the window saying she's going first.
Sayaka was probably possessed by Reika.........
I liked Kojou's route, the second ending actually makes me want to do Sena's route too.
Still I think it was a little short and while I am happy it doesn't drag on and knows where to end
if you do either Sena or Koyou the other doesn't have much of a route. I do not really
understand why the best ending didn't have proper epilogue it felt like a happy bad ending
and the second ending was the one with a proper conclusion albeit at a cost.
Anyway I think Kojou was a stud and I enjoyed seeing him get a happy end with Misa.
Also dear lord those bad ends?! were a bit much... but atleast it seems like this
game doesn't pretend to have choices and it actually makes a difference.
A while after playing this route I realized it probably left the biggest impression on me
since it tackles some issues that one definitely can relate with and how
it can happen to men too and not always women.
~

Sena.
CV: Tetsuya Kakihara.

Sena is or rather was an idol... he is really nice though! perhaps too nice
now he mostly wanders around as a ghost with his BFF Kojou.
In terms of plot please refer to Koyou's section as most of it was shared
but it did split at some part and there was enough unique story IMO.
Sena kind of realizes something is off but can't put his finger on it...
perhaps it has something to do with himself? he seems to be remembering something
but his health seems to be deteriorating. Sena still promised to watch over Misa for Koyou
but even if Sena says he's fine it doesn't appear to be so. Later when he recovers some
he tells Misa he fell in love with her and really enjoyed the time they spend together so far.
Sena realizes its a bit too soon for feelings of love but Misa doesn't mind being together
Sena accepts the truth of him being dead now that he knows the state Misa is in
and  really Sena's situation isn't so different from Koyou's or Misa.
They end up dating... and at the end of a date he helps her to wake up from her coma
and Sena wants her to live life even if he can't anymore. It was a bittersweet farewell.
Sometime later weird rumors start to spread surrounding Sena... that he has been seen as a ghost.
Misa tried to find him but to no avail... as she is no longer a ghost herself she can't see him.
Sena sended her a message to stop chasing his shadow and he doesn't want her to go after it...
Misa ends up being no! I won't give up so she goes to a shrine and asks around
so the priest ends up recommending a charm which ended up helping her in getitng
to meet Sena one more time and he can't help but realize how much he still loves her.
This is like my favorite CG in the whole route... its absolutely perfect.😭😭😭
Misa ends up going into a mirror world afterwards to meet him once more...
but Sena still has his mind made up and he wants her to give up on him.
Misa is so stubborn in this route its not even funny, she really tries to find another option...
then Sena says that she might end up dead if this keeps up then tells her to watch out for
Hibiki because he is the watch dog who guards the entrance to this world. Anyway Sena thinks
there might be a way for it to work out and Hibiki the link.
Hibiki ends up finding them anyway and doesn't like that they lied about being here...
Heaven end: now that Hibiki is here, Misa uses this chance to make a run for the exit
back to the real world but it didn't work... so Sena suggests to leave this place for now
to hide in the library. Hibiki ends up convinced and tells them that there might be hope
if Misa manages to have nerves of iron but there's not much else he can do to help.
I'm not sure what happened but in the epilogue Misa goes to see Sena who's in the park as usual...
Sayaka hopes she's happy being off in her own world which kind of suggests Sena crossed over
its not ideal? but it worked? idk this ending was weird and I am confused.
God, a dream of two people: Misa ends up escaping the mirror world then in the infirmary
she overhears Kureha and Yui saying something about leaving and then Misa finds Sena
near the stairs... and he is back in the human world. Sena's still a ghost though...
but he only has one wish and he wants to hear how she feels about him. Of course she likes him.
Sena ends up fading away as he reciprocates. Misa won't be able to see him anymore...
some time later, Sena ends up finding her again but only for a little while
which is enough for them as they share the same dreams.
Bad end 1: Hibiki got to Misa before they could hide... then goes on how
this is his world so there's no one else it'll answer to. Hibiki did something
and she got kicked out of that world, I say that world but really it is Hibiki's world.
Misa is uh not really the same after it and pretty much loses it.
Bad end 2: Misa decides to let it all be and accepts that Sena doesn't want her to be involved in
the spirit world, basically she respects his choice of letting her go and living her life.
Sena had a good route, I expected it to be more tied into Koyou but it was actually unique
and had was completely different in story! so I was pleasantly surprised!
The good ending was a bit weird and I much prefer the god, a dream of two people ending
which I could vibe better with for some reason. I still think Koyou's route had a better story
and I personally liked him more but Sena's situation was just so sad, still these two routes
really brings up the you can't always be with your loved ones and its okay to be apart!
which I really liked and probably what made it stand out.
Thankfully this route only has one bad end really and the other one is a sort of normal end.
~

Kureha.
CV: Masuda Toshiki.
A spirit... he knows Koyou and often works with thim.
Kureha is from 1949.... so he's from an era roughly 70 years ago.
Misa still got into an accident and finds herself lost in another world, due to talking
with Tsubasa and not going to the library as in the previous routes she ended up
meeting Kureha and Hibiki first who explain to her she is in the spirit realm.
Kureha thinks there's a meaning to it and will help her get back home.
To do so they figure they definitely need to help of mr mirror mirror on the wall.
So Misa spends a fine minute beseeching a mirror, desperate times call for desperate measures!
eventually Hibiki thinks he has Misa where he wants her but Kureha is like haha, got you.
It took a little convincing but Hibiki will help them... oh and apparently Hibiki thinks Kureha's cool too.
Hibiki is also very happy to have people actually remember his name and be adressed...
uh must've been lonely in there huh? yay one more in the team!
Yui ends up giving her a flower petal that'll protect Misa from demons...
Misa ended up briefly being able to return home, however she wants to help the spirits
and it seems there's more to the whole thing. So in the library they end up looking for a book
and then it asks for her name. You're given the ability to fill it yourself and it throws
the whole japanese alphabet at you so I spend like 15minutes here trying to find the 2 kanji
that make up Misa's first name. Peak VN gameplay right here... thankfully you can just
press the y button and have it autofill, wtf is the point then???????
Anyway Hibiki really gave me the creeps in the common parts but he can be really
convincing in making revenants stay away from Misa...😨
They ended up having to solve 7 mysteries, in doing so they make spirit of the
mystery move on, it seems like this place is a sort of boundary space for spirits
that still have lingering regrets etc. Eventually there are only two spiderlily's left that
have not regained their colour... Misa seems to really enjoy helping out Kureha and Hibiki
save spirits like this so she takes a picture with them.
Kureha ends up stopping her from trying to get out and visit back home after the weird call...
Kureha also tells Misa she can always rely on him and tells her to rest up more.
When only one spirit remains, it ends up a bit troublesome as this one wants her loved one
to eat her bento. They try to find that person through Hibiki's mirror... but something
went wrong and Misa lost conciousness and someone else slipped through.
Due to a turn of events Kureha starts to doubt himself and wtf he is even doing... maybe he was
even a murderer when he was alive. Misa blames herself but Kureha doesn't want her to worry.
Its kind of dangerous since this spirit could curse them but they're working on it.
Turns out Kureha really wasn't the nicest person back in the day...
but Misa doesn't really care who he was, she likes him as he is now.
Anyway Kureha has really taken a liking to her and Misa doesn't mind hanging around
even after this is over, for some reason he wanted to say something similar. He likes her
and he's very thankful she feels the same and that they had this encounter.
Something weird happened and Kureha started acting strangely after that boy from the mirror ran off.
Kureha seems to have forgotten what he was supposed to do... the boy from the mirror seems
to suggest Kureha had a sister and that Kureha's horrible and he really wants him
to remember everything. Kureha flips his shit and says he'll kill the boy too...
Misa kisses Kureha to shut him up. Turns out Kureha tried to rescue the girl
but ended up dying trying to do just that... this man tried to ritual sacrifice that girl
to get his dead daughter back or something and this boy who's name is Kazama
is from that mirror world was her lover. Kazama knew what happened after the incident.
Kureha returns to normal... thanks to uh the power of love I guess?
With that over with, Kureha really wants to find a way to solve this mess
and he figures Misa's body is at her limits and can't stay here much longer
so he doesn't want her to die trying to save some revenant spirits.
Also apparently in the past this Hinagiku person could purify spirits but she didn't want to lose
to her brother who is lost to his own lament and became a monster.
So the only way was to send him to hell, so since he protected her now its her turn to help him.
Hinagiku became a revenant to return Kureha to normal... something about becoming akurou
after he barged in to save that girl. They sealed his memories cuz it was too much
so now Kureha wants to save Hinagi afterall this time. Kazama explains Kureha's memory
came back because he has formed a special relationship with someone.
They go back to the revenant Hinagiku so Kureha tries to reach her...
but Hinagiku got to Misa, then Kureha calles her back and really wants her to live
but Misa is like its fine we're both dead now?????  yep that's Heaven ; end.
In the epilogue the two just wander around the world...

God, eight coloured flowers bloom: In this ending Misa ends up taking things into her own hands
and confronts Kazama who ends up coming with to the revenant who helps in trying
to convince her to give up as Kureha has overcome that side of his
for some reason a more gentle approach worked and Hinagi goes peacefully along with Kazama.
After all is over, Kureha vows to keep watching over Misa... and is looking forward
to her continueing to live her life no matter what happens.
When Misa returns home she tells Sayaka all about the rumors surrounding garaga
and how she solved the seven mysteries of her school.
Something of a miracle occurs after she checked the library at her school
and Misa is able to see Kureha again... like a dream come true.
God, eight coloured flowers bloom 2: This is a variation of the above but except Misa
is also able to see Yui and a bunch of other people again. Weird.
Bad end 1, if you input the wrong name or knock on hanako's toilet door
Misa will be visited by a spirit which resembles her mom... and she will be stuck with her forever.
Bad end 2: Misa doesn't kiss Kureha when he almost loses it... and he kills Misa.
Bad end 3: When Misa is told not to leave the infirmary or open its doors some revenants
try to come in, Misa ends up opening the door since they want to talk and then they kill her.
This route was uh, well this had more suspensen than Koyou and  Sena's routes
but it also had the weirdest good end so far as well as a lot of creepy shit.
I didn't dislike Kureha, he's cute for a 70 year old spirit...😊
Also I did not understand why there was a variation of eight-coloured ending though
except maybe to be used as a hook for future routes??? there really isn't much point to it.
Also it is really sad that Kureha had no epilogue CG's like nani-le-fuck?! did they forget?
everyone else in the game be mostly having a good time and then there is Kureha.πŸ˜₯

Hibiki.
CV: Toki Shun'ichi.
A mirror spirit, he's a shy one and can be a bit strange.
Hibiki guards a strange mirror, which is a world that answers only to him.
Hibiki's route follows up on the girl that wants someone to eat her bento, turns out
she was accused of poisononing someone, the very person she liked and wanted to go out with.
Sadly Hibiki couldn't accept it cuz he likes Misa, who got her to tell them what was really going on.
Misa made Hibiki apologize for earlier... I swear this girl! with this the 7th legends mission is over...
Hibiki is a little sad he might end up alone again, he figures he fell in love with Misa too
so she wanted to do something about it but then one of the flowers lost its colour
then Hibiki apologizes saying this is his fault. Misa wants to know more but not where
everyone else could hear them, he wants her to go into the mirror.
Then she remembers that this could mean she'll be trapped... but she goes anyway.
Hibiki tells her a story of how a he was confined and there was also someone being assaulted.
Hibiki took matters in his own hands cuz  that person was bad and did something unforgivable.
So he ends up commiting suicide saying he was happy doing so. But when Misa talks to him
about it its the opposite really of course he didn't want to die... but he just couldn't take it anymore.
Misa is able to contact her mom for just a little before going back to investigating!
We learn more of Hibiki as well, he believes himself to be weakhearted opposites of Misa
w he also tells her how he used to be unable to make friends when he was little, sure
he was loved by his parents but he was always alone. He's very thankful for the encounter
with Misa and falling in love. They both do need time to think on things... and specifically
Hibiki seems to have a hard time with his feelings but he knows he can't do a certain thing.
They're about to part and he sort of tempted her, so Misa showed her affection buuuut
Hibiki ended up kicking her out of the mirror world. Yui and Kureha try to help her
get to Hibiki who has shut himself away. Kureha sure was convincing... and Hibiki fell for it.πŸ˜‚
Turns out Hibiki has to fight a lot of inner demons and he really hated that man...
for stealing his happiness away. Later after a heart to heart Seiya just walks in
saying this can just easily be solved if they listened to their hearts and let there be love
since at this point these two just need a whole house for themselves.
Heaven end: Seiya takes them to the man responsible, now also dead but he sort of watches over
souls like that, Isao is his name and he is nothing but apologethic for his actions.
Hibiki is somewhat relieved Isao was brought to justice and is sorry.
Anyway, Hibiki really likes Misa but like all the other guys he doesn't want to keep her
even though its really obvious he wants to be with her in a possessive way
liike he actually wants her to die already so he can have her. But he knows
they can always see each other because of the mirror. Every day till they die.😨
God, seven-coloured lights: Hibiki comes to terms with stuff and will watch over Misa
when she leaves the boundary space to live her own life. He hopes she doesn't forget
how much he loves her till they can one day meet again. In the epilogue
Hibiki suddenly appears in the real world, Misa is like wait wut is this a dream?
but he says its more like the gods have graced them with this possibility
and just like that he disappeared as quickly as he came, like a guardian angel.πŸ˜„
Bad end 1: Misa decides to not hear him out and he says she should rest when
they get to the mirror world. Misa ends up having never ending nightmares.
Bad end 2: Misa pushes Hibiki away instead of showing her affection...
which made him a bit angry enough to pushes her out of the mirror world
saying to just go back and there is no need for her to remain saying she should just live.
Then Misa ends up blames herself and becoming the new toilet-bound hanako.πŸ’€
Bad end 3: the flower ended up regaining its colour and she ended up back in the human world
but she ends up haunted by Hibiki in the mirror and she basically dies at his hand.😨😱
I didn't really like this route and Hibiki's character is just not for me, mostly because
it seemed like Misa became his personal therapist, I guess its fine she helped him
but man... Hibiki had issues and it really showed in the bad ends, i'm horrified.
Still everything suited his character and I guess Hibiki's just a weirdo, the ending
I enjoyed the most was God, seven-coloured lights! its imo the best possible outcome.

Koharu.
CV: Azakami Youhei.
When you start a route but get bullied by CV: KENN.
The Koharu/Yukimaru common route starts with Misa going
to a restaurant who then gets offers a job which she promptly rejects.
Misa ends up praying at a shrine afterwards only to start hearing voices! that tease her.
The shrine owner says that they're harmless and there's nothing to worry about
who then proceeds to perform some ritual, I wasn't sure if it was an exorcism or not
but it had the opposite effect and now he can see him to. It introduces himself
as a zashiki-warashi named Yukimaro. Misa tells her friend about her encounter
and they're like no way, gotta go to that shrine now too. XD Misa gets home only to find
strange things are happening like the place is haunted or something only to find out from
Yukimaro that some other ayakashi named Koharu is now vibing there in her own home.
Yep... Misa has been stalked by a bunch of ayakashi...
Koharu is quite intimidating and the opposite of Yukimaro who's optimistically excited.
Koharo tries to get Misa to become his underling and make her work to the bone...
he's also surprised Yukimaro is even here, he doesn't seem to like him and says if Misa
is his master like Yukimaro claims she  should rein him in more like an owner of a dog.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Turns out there is one more ayakashi who is the actual god of that shrine. Their name is Touka.
The ayakashi ended up freeloading and Yukimaro gets addicted to anime.πŸ˜‚
Since humans can't see them they figure it might be better to use human forms
so Misa isn't getting labelled as crazy for talking to herself.
Later Misa ended up in an argument with her mom so she ends up talking to them about it...
cuz they well uh follow her everywhere since she is their master now.
Misa and her mom end up talking it over so mom won't try to butt in as much
the thing is it has to do with her father who died when Misa was young
and her mother hasn't been telling everything of him to Misa.
She also would like her daughter to take her educatiion seriously since its not
just for her own sake.  Next morning Touka says Misa is just suffering, Koharu realizes
she's not been okay too... so he just tells her to relax and not get so worked up. Sayaka ends up
walking in on them and she can't believe what a hunk Koharu is. Koharu just... walks away
trying to look cool, lol. Misa is just in a really tough position, having to decide for the future
nd what her mom thinks is good for her, of course she'd love to apply to the same
college/university as Sayaka but even the teach wants Misa to really think about it and not rush it.
Even Yukimaro thinks something's up and a simple oh it'll be fine from Misa won't cut it!
Misa's mom won't be putting as much pressure on her daughter as before and  asks the
freeloaders to watch over her... sometime later Misa and Sayaka end up having a fight
and when Misa tries to make up and she gives her a charm which she
is reluctant to accept since Sayaka doesn't really want to be apart and so she tried
to make a wish via some website. Koharu said she is nothing to worry about
and the two make up again... they will both still be friends even if they go
to different schools so Misa is able to think better about her future now.
Turns out Koharu knows a certain mirror spirit... and says he is a friend. Koharu and Misa
end up playing a stupid game with a thread and it makes him look really dumb.πŸ˜…
I don't really remember there being much plot in this route other than Koharu
being a huge tsundere dork! and general shenanigans. What I do remember
is that Misa's health started to deteriorate and then... Koharu tried to warm her up.
Too bad Touka walked in and killed the mood afterwards... sigh!
Misa wonders about the scar on his right eye so he ends up telling her
he got it from protecting a boy from an evil spirit. His clan the kokkuri's
tend to get tasked with protecting people and its only really if its really serious.
So the boy ends up saying he'll try to get stronger... so it won't be necessary to rely on Koharu.
Koharu says ayakashi tend to get forgotten though and he sort of hates humans
cuz they're fickle. Misa replies she won't forget him though.
Later Misa ends up seeing a mirror and connected to it for a brief moment
before letting it be, it told her thank you for telling me! Yukimaro also tells
her any spirit could become akurou if their heart desired it or they fell into despair
so I guess its not unique to Kureha huh? Touka ends up wanting Koharu to proof his love
for Misa since its very obvious he cares a lot about her!
Koharu and Hibiki actually ended up meeting one time too and it seems Hibiki was the boy
who he protected in the past... they have a lot to catch up on but things ended the way it did.
A dumb scene plays out afterwards where Misa gets caught talking to herself by her mom
who ends up blaming herself for letting this all happen. Koharu is like whoops sorry
I should have paid attention that no one was here. Misa is like no STOP its mistake!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Koharu ends up staying at Misa's side when she goes on a trip and he forces her to rest
on the train ride to the beach, its there Misa ended up confessing. In the Heaven end:
Koharu ends up wanting to settle things and just ends up going one day, Misa worried
about it but then he returned all like i'm sorry but its dealt with. This was pretty sudden
which even made me confused but eh a man's gonna do what he's gonna do eh?
he then reveals that the folks he visited didn't approve of Misa... but he says that all things
considered it'll all be okay! even though Koharu got excommunicated from
his clan, Misa blames herself but the only one with regret should be him since he didn't
completely have faith in Misa but he does now so he still wants to return her feelings.
No matter what he'll be there at her side! in the epilogue its become obvious
their time together is limited but they make the most of it.
God, the curse of love end: Koharu wishes there was a better way to resolve their
current situation, the only thing standing in their way is his clan really
and some old stories about a curse. He tells her not to worry as she's gotten stronger
cuz of their support and all. She may not be always be able to see him. Koharu accepts
the curse and basically makes contract to be with her forever no matter what happens.
Bad end: When Misa was near Hibiki's mirror she pleads to it and well a certain someone
can't resist to it so Misa gets pulled into the mirror before Yukimaro could reach her.
This certain someone is more than happy to have found someone... uh warm.
Imagine your old friend NTR'ing your crush... that's it, that is this ending.πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€
I really enjoyed Koharu's route as well as the common route with Yukimaro!
its nice that Misa had these guardian angels around for once which was refreshing
compared to routes I did prior, speaking of the previosu route never did I expect
to get further background on Hibiki... or that he was close to Koharu.
It does make sense why he wasn't around since... Koharu belongs to a clan that
protects people and in other routes Misa never enters a pact with them like here.
Anyway Koharu was such a dork! I don't really like cranky characters that much nowadays
but he had just the right amount of tsun so it didn't annoy me at all.
This route also had the least amount of edge so far and only 1 bad end...
its like otomate realized there need not be despair all the time!
needless to say a good healing route can heal anyones soul.

Yukimaro.
CV: KENN.
A zashiki-warashi... he enjoys teasing humans. Anime enjoyer and will lecture you
about how their are a vast amount of genre's and there's something for everyone.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Yukimaro really likes Misa as his master and swears to make her happy like he cannot
contain himself, it becomes so embarrassing that Koharu wants to knock some sense into him.πŸ˜‚
Misa really knows how to shoot him down though... i've lost count how many times
Yukimaro had his heart shot to pieces figuratively.πŸ˜… Sadly I don't think there
was much to Yukimaro's route except for him being a massive lovable idiot.
Misa's mom is willing to let her decide her daughters future more freely
and Misa made a promise with Yukimaro to always be honest to each other.
Sigh Yukimaro really wants what's best for Misa and he cares a lot about her.
Much like Koharu's route there really wasn't much going on and it was very nonbiri.
At some point Yukimaro asks her to forgive and then he kissed her and promptly
confessed how he felt which was kind of obvious however he says that he'll go away for a bit.
Yukimaro wants to make sure he can stay at her side so he's off to make it happen meanwhile
Misa is stuck with Touka and Koharu not that it took long for Yukimaro to come back
better than ever. Misa was actually great at stopping him from being too kissy
and just pushed him away if he got too clingy.πŸ˜‚ They went on a fun date
but Yukimaro had to go away for a bit since the members of the clan found out what happened.
Koharu will keep her posted as to what's going on in the ayakashi world...
Yukimaro will do whatever it takes! Koharu says Misa should take some responsibility too
so he asks if she wants him to cast a spell on her which forces Yukimaro to act
and try to stand up for the woman he loves. The next thing Misa knows she wakes
up in the hospital, her mom says its Yukimaro who brought her there.
When she gets back to school Misa starts seeing even more spirits, Sayaka asks
if she has seen a ghost or something cuz Misa is literally losing it the next time
she sees Yukimaro cuz like wtf is this shit?! Koharuuuuuuuu wtf did you doooooo!
Yukimaro also blames him... its time to just blame Koharu I guess.
Yukimaro promises to protect Misa from the spirits and starts spouting gibberish
about making a contract that basically makes them a married couple.
This wasn't the plan but this stupid spell changes everything... wait maybe this is
working out for the better since Yukimaro is able to be with her more easily.
Misa happily accepts... but there's a way to make her stop seeing spirits
and it will make her unable to see Yukimaro too or atleast a lot less
but no matter what choice Misa makes, he'll protect her. They kind of end up
fighting like some married couple... Touka reveals that because Yukimaro
is a zashiki-warashi he has a childlike innocence and a pure heart meaning
he will never do anything to hurt Misa. They try to make up later...
all he wants was for her to be honest really. Normal end: He's willing to become free enough
just to be with her. So he makes a new vow/contract with her to reflect that.
In the heaven end epilogue they go on a picknick together. They may not be able
to always be together but just this moment is enough! and he'll be there is she needs him.
God, the youkai's bride: Not much difference except Misa is willing to become Yukimaro's wife
and he makes a contract with her to reflect the fact that she is now his wife.
They end up having a proper ceremony later and Touka is brought to tears...
Bad end: There wasn't really much room for a bad end, so this one is when Koharu
asks Misa to put the spell on her... and what happens if she refuses. He says
that refusing and explains that doing so won't really make her happy anyways.
Some time passes and she graduates, she'll go to work at that restaurant from the beginning...
she still loves Yukimaro even if she can't see him anymore.
Okay so while this route was fun and I enjoyed the fluff it was kind of boring
in terms of story but I guess its okay and I kind of accept this route as a palate changer
for after routes like Kureha/Hibiki or something since there was like 0.5% suspense/edge
but in exchange you get fluff and two lovable idiots.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
The story was also really simple in Yukimaro's route... the drama was light and everything
was so cute and fluffy. Its perfect if you thought the other routes were too much!
NGL this route specifically gave me diabetes and was just cuteness overload...
what otome game am i playing again???!!!!  also was the bad end really a bad end
it seems this route only had a normal, good and a best end.

Minami:
Okamoto Nobuhiko.
Minami can appear meek and shy but he is actually quite cunning.
Misa decides to skip going to the shrine and is still filled with worry over her education path...
before some strange voice calls out to her saying he found her and invites her to the darkness
and asks her not to run away when she wakes up next time. Spooky!
Misa wakes up next to a boy with horns on a train... in a completely different world.
The boy appears quite meek... Misa seems to befriend him quite easily so she decides
to stay with him since it makes him less nervous. Misa appeared to briefly wake up
in the humon world before being whisked away again and woken by Seiya
who tries to calmly explain what is going on. He works for hell organization
and well she is currently in some sort of boundary space where dead souls gather.
Misa doesn't fully trust him and wonders where Minami is... which he doesn't know
but he let's het wander off to find him as she is not a prisoner and when she meets him
she decides to trust Minami instead. The flower petal Seiya left with Misa acted up
and Seiya catched up with Misa who tells her that Minami is an Incubus.
Also him being meek was just an act... but we already knew this from a certain other route
anyway Misa returns with Seiya who hands her a special smartphone and tells Misa
to get it together since there's still people waiting for her to return to.
This mysterious demon that at times comes to Misa in a dream reveals that its just been waiting
to make a contract with her and this is especially funny to me cuz of what happened last route
also Misa is under the protection of a Tengu so making a contract with her is difficult.
When Misa meets up with Minami again he says he wasn't completely trying to fool her
but she doesn't know what part of it is true when he asked her. So he tells her...
what was true is that he likes to eat! he then proceeds to lick Misa but ends up
almost electrocuted because of the flower Misa has on her. THANK GOD.
I'm not sure if I should believe either Seiya or Minami but I do know the latter is bad news
even though he's desperately trying to get in Misa's good graces. WEW...
Seiya is as busy as ever, Reika was acting dumb but not for people who know.
Misa says she is still curious about Minami and Seiya's like oh you dumb girl!
so he tells her one thing and that is to keep her chin up and steel her heart
cuz demons prey on the weakness of it. Later Misa goes to visit Minami again
who is like hrm? isn't that gonna make the old man mad? ok i'll punish you for him then.
Misa immediately tells her she won't play his game and runs off but runs into a spirit instead
who wants to play with her. Minami tells the ghost that he's gonna play with her instead
and forces it to go away. Hide and Seek sounds good so there they go.
Just as Minami says he'll haunt err protect her forever Seiya walks in jerking his chains
and then he runs of cuz he hates those.πŸ˜…πŸ€”πŸ˜© Later, Misa has a more normal.. chat
with him and asked what he likes which is apparently sweets? he'd love to eat a parfait again
but he has no money! oh hey we can go get some next time right? Misa was like ugh whatever.
Misa ends up wanting to pursui Minami so while Seiya is against it he gave her a kiss on
the forehead and asks her to becareful from now before she goes.
The only one standing in Minami's way is a tengu or something if that wasn't there
he could have Misa all to himself and make whatever contract he wants with her.
Sadly Misa ends up doing something reckless and Minami can't turn a blind eye to it...
it seems that he actually starts to care about her at this point. The cutest thing
was them snuggling up trying to sleep together... but he was still kind of the same old
or just kind of indifferent about things. Misa ends up annoyed enough to try to pull his ears...
which made Minami pout. Sigh, here I am expecting some yandere but I get pouty boi!
The other minami ends up telling her a story of how a man had to sacrifice his soul to him
to protect his mother and sister, just so they wouldn't be harmed. This man was so naive
to be like maybe I can fix him from within. That happened a long time ago btw
and well demons could make wishes come true at the time. Minami was bound by
a contract so yes the family of the man was safe. At first he didn't have much of a form
but for some reason he was able to gain one after so long. That man's soul was too perfect
which is why he gained the power of dreams and why Misa can communicate with him through that.
Daddy Seiya ended up being worried about Misa again and finds her later
he also gives her a special gun just in case and tells her how to use it.
Seiya's just worried Minami has worked his way into her heart... and he kind of has.
Minami gets kind of clingy later after Misa tells him whether she likes him or not...
but idk Minami is actually just a piece of shit so when you think things
are going well they do not and he actually just wants to torment Misa or even kill her
which is when she has enough and tries to use the gun Seiya gave her to defend herself.
Misa is upset at Minami and rightfully so she even slapped him in the face.
Turns out Minami just wanted to push her over the edge and didn't mind dying
at the hands of someone who cared about him. So Minami finally says he hates her
Minami tells Seiya of what happened and since Minami wouldn't mind dying
to set Misa free he's more than willing to help but then she changes her mind
since these two don't get along it'll never go well They end up finding a way
but it revolves in sealing the soul but Minami doesn't like it so he's like forget it! lol.
Misa ends up talking about it later with Seiya and Minami ends up walking in on them...
he wasn't pleased. Seiya really wants him to listen to Misa since its the best option.
Heaven end: Minami basically goes along with it because he loves her and for some reason Misa's
totally smitten fot him. Afterwards Minami makes Seiya watch over Misa
while he goes into her dreams cuz he can't do it if there's a chance trouble arises.
Minami stops her from interacting with the spark of light that lies within Misa
and he stops it from interacting with her. This spark is related to the man
that once let himself get devoured by Minami. Who kind of thinks its interesting
to go inside a human this time instead of a demon. It even says how weak Minami is...
and actually is using this moment to get back at him for way back but what he doesn't
know is that the contract is working against him. Minami says he loves Misa and then
starts fighting it... but Misa is like lolnope and intervenes which makes Minami despair instead.
Somehow it still works out, mostl likely because of Seiya. Minami is forever grateful
to Misa for helping get rid of the spirit that has haunted him and regaining a part of himself.
He says he wants to go on a real date with her after she's recovered... huh? maybe there's
still hope for Minami after all! In the epilogue: Misa remains with him in the other world
and they hang out together like they promised and eat a parfait.
God, beneath the daylight: There's not much different except the light seems to get the upperhand
and almost makes a new contract with Misa. Minami tries  to stop it and just before the man
goes Misa tries bringing up his family but he's like nah but thanks! and diesappears.
Seiya tells her there's no need to stay here in the boundary and sends her back home
and Minami stays with her till the last moment, he also says that if she ever tries
to get with another man now he'll definitely come to haunt her or even kill her.😨😨😱
Misa gets back to her daily life and then one day... hears Minami's voice from behind her.
He's been doing his best and was allowed to come to her. It was hard for him but atlast...!
Minami can be with her till the day she dies... what a dream to come true!
Bad end 1: Misa ends up shooting Minami who can't believe what happened
but for some reason he's happy? to be killed by a woman he likes and brought to despair..
he then kisses her and says he loves her. Misa ends up still having nightmares
and it hasn't truly ended yet since the demon is still haunts her.
Bad end 2: Misa ends up being stabbed by a revenant when she went out on her own.
Minami found her but it was too late... so he decides to devour her so they can be together that way.
Eh what can I say but while there is certainly an audience for Minami-kun
that audience is not me! I didn't really enjoy the route that much either
but I enjoyed learning more about him atleast??? so it wasn't all bad.
Its just I found Minami to be so inconsistent and yyou can't really tell what it is
he really wants, at times I thought he was just messing with Misa and I guess he was.
I don't like Minami cuz mostly he was was acting like an arse... which never really changes
like he may appear sweet and caring but then says/does something opposite, ugh.
Minami was basically a rejet character so it makes sense I can't stand him at all
nor do I understand how Misa could even fall for him but eh its her choice not mine!
~

Seiya.
CV: Tachibana Shinnosuke.
Much like Sena he died before the story started and he is a sort of overseer
that watches over the souls of the dead, making sure they go to the right places so he's actually
quite a busy person and never where you need him or uh arrives just in time I guess?
Also in case you forgot the longer Misa stays in this boundary world the weaker she gets
the flower petals of the Califa tree are only a temporary effect to relief those symptons as well
as being an excellent ward to demons. Anyway as per the previous route Seiya
is actually quite the daddy... though he does have a weird side to him, if he starts liking
Misa too much he may drag her down to hell with him.😳 Anyway Seiya is the type of character
who has probably READ more about romance and such than actually experienced it
so he ends up being this huge nerd sometimes like is this it? no... but it could be like that right?πŸ˜‚
Reika seems to be trying to escape in this route and literally kidnaps Misa by possessing her
and if she doesn't she'll kill her all because Reika doesn't want to get caught and go to hell
and wants to meet her beloved who wansts nothing to do with her.
Anyway since Misa knows a ghost she tries to go to Yui... and even Kureha.
Reika tries to convince her to leave with them but they have no interests
also Kureha wonders who this Reika even is and then Seiya catches up with them.
Took him long enough huh? oh well he is the overseer of this world afterall!
Reika tries to throw a tantrum... so she threatens to hurt Misa whom she knows he cares for.
Since Seiya is an exorcist he isn't fazed by it so he tries to kiss her which makes Reika
go like ew! no please I haven't kissed HIM yet get away.
Seiya kisses Misa and then shoots his gun which makes Reika run and seemingly fade away.
Seiya says he literally just ended her existence or something, afterwards he apologizes
for letting Misa alone which let to this situation of Reika using her.
Seiya ends up telling about his past and it seems he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps
of being an exorcist, however one day after he made a mistake someone got the better of him
and literally is like nope you're nothing but a fake and you got no talent for this.
They wanted him to give up. His dad ended up passing away protecting him.
Afterwards Seiya realized he couldn't become an exorcist like his dad so he gave up
trying and he went his own way, believing he'd go to hell and well here he is.
To atone he now works in this boundary space overseeing the souls that arrive there.
Misa ends up giving him a peck on the cheek cuz he's worth it.
They also go on a little date... but he forces Misa to wear a hood since he doesn't
want anyone else to see how cute she is. This whole thing makes hime elated for some reason
and he starts to become strangely possessive even thinking its a miracle this is even happening
but Misa gets him back on track to enjoying their date. Anyway they try to solve
Misa's problem but they don't know where Minami is right now or what he's plotting
at first Seiya didn't have much faith in himself but thanks to Misa he'll be able to do it
like he was lost in the darkness and Misa gave him a tiny bit of light to hold on to...
doing this will also save Misa's mother who is still grieving over her late father.
Seiya helps Misa accept certain things and that there's something not much you can do
but she can definitely help her mother move forward because she has also saved him.
Seiya also loves Misa very much so he gives her a last kiss and will wait for
the time they may meet again, someday since her time hasn't come yet.
They go ahead with the ritual and Seiya tells her once more to steel her heart
and believe in the bonds of her loved ones as this is the only way to beat that demon.
Minami tries to provoke Misa into taking action before the time runs out
but she keeps the faith so Seiya successfully saved her mom, how? we'll go right into that.
Minami tried to invade Misa's mother's dreams and cause her despair into thinking she's the one
who killed her own daugther.Minami also tries to make Misa form a new contract with him
to prevent this but before he can finish Seiya interrupts Minami excorcising him in the name of god.
Seiya pretty much used his most powerful invocation... and Minami can't handle it
he also tells Misa to go to her mother right now and that he will wait for her till she's done.
Seiya is glad since had it been any longer then there may not have been any hope to save her
now he will send Misa back on the train... home to where she really belongs.
Before she goes he swears his undying love for her... its kind of sad but he kind of
wishes her to bear a life of loneliness till the day they meet again in this other world.
In the epilogue Misa continues her life till one day Seiya shows up in her room! surprise!!!
well yea he wasn't gonna let her be alone the rest of her life even if this is but a temporary form.πŸ˜‚
In the heaven end: its mostly the same except Misa was slightly too late and they were
too late as she stayed too long in that world??? Seiya says there won't be a train for her
to return home with and is forced to remain in the other world. Misa tries to talk to her mother
through a dream which has some effect in calming her and making her realize it wasn't her fault.
Misa ends up working together at HO with Seiya... as there's not much other options anyway.
In the epilogue they return briefly to the human world to view the starry sky...
I guess they can do that much or can do holidays as well huh?
Bad end 1: Something happened and Seiya left the gun with Misa....
so she goes to Minami who acts like a dick and then she shoots him with that gun
since she wants to protect her family. Seiya arrives on the scene and can only apologize
this wasn't the best outcome and it didn't solve anything only Misa becominga demon slayer.
Bad end 2: When Misa was supposed to wait till the time was right she ends up
letting Minami get to her... and he'll have her soul, dreams and all.
Bad end 3: When Misa got kidnapped by Reika, she ends up mentioning running into
Kureha and Kojou instead and Reika loses her shit, god forbid she touched him...
or he was nice to her since Reika has to make Kojou hers. So she ends up taking over completely.
Bad end 4: Misa ends up losing conciousness and then she ends up reliving a nightmare
of her mom scolding her and nowhere is she save even Tsubasa... or Sayaka
they all scold her for being so indecisive. Then the dream eater appears
and asks her if she she needs all that. It could become a reality. Misa is like it will be  fine!
but he's like no you'll just run like you do now. Then tells her not to worry cuz
he'll make it go away by eating her soul, releasing her from it all. Eventually Misa gives in.πŸ’€
Seiya has a pretty good route! and his character was really fun/interesting as well.
the only down side is that his god end epilogue had no cg but atleast his heaven end did
so I am not sure which is better? both were good in a sense but I guess having a funny epilogue
with no cg is better than Kureha getting jack shit for both of his good ends, lmao.

Touka.
CV: Amasaki Kouhei.

This route unlocks after doing all routes! it follows the Yukimaro/Koharu common route
but with new choices and an alternate ending with some new reveals.
This makes a lot of sense because this is the only route in which Misa
did not get in any accidents because of her guardian angels there's no romance with
the usual two bachelors and Misa ends up hanging out with Touka instead.
It reveals some little details like Misa's childhood. Incase you didn't get it in previous routes
Touka is the tengu, that has been protecting Misa. Touka really wants Misa to get the
message across that she should move forward and not get held down in the past
like her mother, that way she can help her mom too. Touka doesn't want Misa to suffer
but Yukimaro basically let it happen but at the same time is also guiding her on the path
to a happier future. Yukimaro even encourages Touka to try and be there for Misa...
since its kind of obvious he catched some feelings.
So he decided to do just that and wants Misa to help him out so he won't have to
do the kamikakushi which she'll gladly do. Touka is all like you're free to love who you want
and accepts that Misa should do so with a human instead. So its really difficult for him
since he places her happiness before his own. Also Touka is a god and not some normal ayakashi.
Misa ends up looking into patissier stuff at the library and Sayaka cheers her on
since Misa has always liked sweets and stuff. Tsubasa seems to recognize Touka from Misa's
childhood as someone who onces saved her butt... Touka ends up telling Misa later
when she asked him about it and when she was 5 she nearly died... or better put
a shinigami was eyeing her so Touka butted in and saved Misa at the last minute.
The reason she doesn't remember was because he had literally put her soul back the way it was.
Misa asks what it is Touka wants the most and its to be by her side the most...
but soon comes the day they will not be able to see each other for a while
but he'll be watching over her like he usually does. Yukimaro and Koharu
end up helping out Misa so things don't have to end up like this...
they will bait a shinigami and it literally ends up being the same shinigami as when Misa was 5.
Itasks her if she has ever seen a demon and she hasn't that is because of the tengu's power which
has been protecting her. It says that if she lives she will only suffer and demons
will be drawn to her eventually... so Touka did what he did to protect her
and he made a deal that she had to become mentally strong enough by age 17 to be able to be
not as tasty or so to speak. Touka shows up too because he is Misa's stalker after all.
God, together spending time: Yukimaro and Koharu leave and Touka wants to
settle it with the shinigamiwho has seen enough and actually jets out of there just as fast as he came.
All's well that ends well and Touka can stay with Misa... he also returns to his adult form
with a voice to match and no longer has the appearance of a young teenager.
Touka says if she reciprocates he definitely won't let her go... like he promised
a little while ago, he'll be right by her side. In the epilogue some time has passed.
Misa ends up trying to make sweets, Tsubasa tries to help but her mom tells her not to as
anything Tsubasa makes turns into mystery food X.πŸ˜… Misa also ends up visiting the shrine again
and ends up being glomped by none other than Touka. Who has become a hot stud.😳😳😳
Touka says that he is no longer a god and has become a human... so he can now be
with Misa for as long as he wants and become happy together or try to be.
Heaven end: The shinigami says Misa isn't strong enough and wants to take her soul
but Yukimaro and Koharu step in and somehow ends up being convinced so there didn't have
to be a battle but if the chance arises he'll definitely take the tengu's power back.
After he jets the shinigami says something like eh Touka's gonna be having a hard time too.
This ending seems like it didn't really solve anything and nothing's changed.
In the epilogue they all hang out at the place Misa was once asked to work... and treat
themselves to some sweet snacks. Touka also tells Koharu to stop being such a tsundere.πŸ˜‚
As I was going through this route, I wasn't sure why they bothered but by the end of it all
I was convinced!  Still it was too short i'd prefer it being a bit longer
but not like Erik(tsuitsui) either. This route was a lot shorter than every other route
in the game, I do think otomate realized people could be burnt out by now so they made sure
it keeps to the point. I'm just glad they made all the cg's count and they're all so gorgeous!
at the very least this route was able to finish off 9rip in a nice way
but it did had me going at times... sigh Touka why do you now make me feel things?

I liked Kojou, Touka and Seiya the most, Yukimaro/Koharu was very fun too
it just was less suspenseful, however I enjoyed it more than the routes of Kureha/Hibiki
and Minami. I guess the characters can be a saving grace?

Fav character
Kojou > Koharu > Seiya > Touka >Yukimaro > Sena > Kureha > Hibiki > Minami.
This was hard, I like Kojou a lot, Koharu is a hunk and a cutiepie and Seiya is whoosh!
Yukimaro is a sweetheart, Sena is too... Kureha was great except he gets the short
end of the stick. I didn't like Minami that much and idk what it says that I prefer Hibiki over him.
I ended up liking Touka more after his route and his god end was πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ.

Final thoughts?

Despite this game having occult-mystery and a little bit of horror elements
I did still enjoy it, mostly because the occult/horror stuff didn't overtake from the rest
and it was still an enjoyable otome game. Like it may not be a virche but i'm sure glad
I can just view the good ends and bad ends at my own leisure without being forced
down a path of despair first. The only real downsides may be that it is short and
the overall cg count is low but they're all really good so I will let that slide
considering there's like 9 love interests. This game also seems to have multiple ending themes
for each two-sets of characters which was nice or they were different verses of the same song, idk.

All of the routes were interesting and the romance was there, this game was very character
driven yet the story/setting was still good. I liked how they had scenarios for each set of characters
like Koyou/Sena and Kureha/Hibiki etc. I thought the individual would overlap too much too
but it didn't so I was pleasantly surprised at this. I think this might be one of otomates
better games this year, it stays true to what it tries to do without going off the deep end.
Doing every route is also very rewarding since certain ones further add to the story as a whole.
I think play order may not matter that much but there were definitely routes
that balanced out the suspense in others with fluff. Like I said in the non-spoiler section
its best to stick to the pairs and finish it first before doing the next route(s).
Also IDK why Kureha is the only one who can't seem to get a proper epilogue
he even lacks a cg in those scenes which can be really disappointing
considering everyone else is mostly having a good time in the epilogues but then
there is Kureha so I think otomate had a bone to pick with him or something.
I will admit that by route 9 I was kind of burnt but I think otomate realized
this could happen and didn't make it longer than they needed it to be...
If there could still be any downsides then it may that its just short and romance
happens quickly, still I liked Misa's initiative at times so its still OK.
9/10

I can recommend 9rip, if you're looking for an occult mystery with a decent dose
of suspense but aren't looking for the level of despair Virche has to offer!
and you're interested in at least one or two love interests.
This was also a very character driven game, without them there wouldn't be much of a story.
At times it made me wish there was a FD as they could definitely expand upon some things
but it is what it is... each route ended on a satisfying manner so even if there's no FD
I can leave this game behind even if i'd still like more.

While I hope people can enjoy it as much as I did... there is always a chance it doesn't
which is okay too but I do think otomate did something right with this game.
At time of writing idk if this will get localized but I hope it does and I see no reason
for it to be skipped and it seems to have done pretty well in sales.

  1. Thank you for this review , after reading it I don't think this otome is for me . I was interested in 4 characters but what was emanating from their character design vanished into nothing after reading their route summary. I didn't expect much from them though what a disappointment . The lack of CGs is kind of sad and I think is because of Cupid Parasite FD , reusing even one CG is a big no for me and I know that because I looked at all the CGs for 9RIP. Anyway I am glad you enjoyed your time with 9RIP !

    1. Thanks for the comment, I think its best to go into games like 9rip or psychedelica blind since reading summaries gives too much away.
The cg's were still well done but i'm disappointed how they handled Kureha compared to everyone else.
