Genre: VN/Simulation.
Like the original it also is quite self-aware and can be a bit meta at times, which was fun.

Alright time for the FD of Glass Heart Princess!
I didn't have many expectations but I knew it was not a long FD.
Disclaimer: This is purely my own opinion and it could be different from yours
this is not meant to be some kind of all-truth, just an opinion that came from playing this.
If you don't like what you're reading then close the tab, move on and just idk play it yourself.
Pro's
- Short and Sweet.
- A bit on the short side but it doesn't overstay its welcome.
Con's
- Gai gets the short end of the stick; not included in extra scenarios.
- Redoing the resort scenario for gallery completion can feel repetitive.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
System; just standard stuff this time, its a normal VN now!
There's after stories and some extra scenarios.
Choices don't really matter and they're more or less there for flavor.
Art and Music are on par with the original, all good on that front.
I don't particularly feel strongly about the OP or ED, like its fine?
Contents: After stories, resort scenario, triangle dates and side stories.
Length: After stories took me maybe 2 and a half hours so they fall into
the category of not too short but not long, its just the right length.
I thought UtaChro FD was meaty... but this was easy to digest.
The rest of the contents weren't very long either and this FD is no longer than 20 hours.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall this FD compliments the OG well and offers a little bit more content
fans may want to see! I didn't really have many problems with it, gonna say
it even fueled my previous mental image about Shinnosuke.

| This was such a bruh moment... |
This FD is just a little something extra Glass Heart Princess fans can enjoy.
While it was rather short I don't even care because i've played FD's
that're actually sequels which didn't even get the content that this FD has.
In that sense GHP: Platinum really the short and sweet type of FD.
Like I wasn't here for a sequel, just to see the characters continue their lives
and maybe see their futures a bit better than at the end of the original game.
I can't complain about it because it did exactly what's to be expected of a FD
as well as offer some extra scenarios that're fun to open up the game for.
Even if its ceroB all the CG's were worth looking at as it captured fun moments.
There's only one LI I didn't exactly like but overall I am generally happy with it.
9/10
I couldn't rate both Toki no kizuna games the same but with GHP its easier.
My play order was nearly the same as the original but I followed another
bloggers advice to do Shinnosuke last this time so its like this now:
Tenma > Kanata > Yukito > Gai > Shinnosuke > extra contents.
Spoilers after the jump, there's not much but if you don't want any then don't read any further.
Also its a FD to the original game and assumes you know what happened
so I may write something that should be common knowledge at this point.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tenma.
Since he was my first route in the OG, I did his after first!
Kyoko's a teacher like him now with the same life span, It was interesting to see
it expand upon the route in the OG, now that Kyoko is a vampire like Tenma.
I liked it because it complimented what was already build and the consequences
of what had happened and how this affects Kyoko's life now.
It was both sweet and exciting! it made the route in the OG look unfinished.
Some of the drama was a bit dumb though but thankfully it was rather short, it wasn't
much longer than 2 and a half hours. The length was just right since
I can't think of what else would be nice to see but I thought
it was a bit too action packed and there wasn't much romance.
When I think about what is a good after story it would be to show what their
life is like after the route in the OG and how it goes from there
so in that sense it did an okay job! don't really got any complaints
except that all the romantic scenes were in another scenario.
So in terms of his after the only CG's I really liked were the ones at the end.
Either way Tenma's the only vampire for me!π
~
Kanata.
CV: Miyata Kouki.
There was a rather drastic development which just made me want to continue reading.
We were introduced to Kanata's acquaintance Konata who we actually knew in the first game
but you probably wouldn't expect him to. The little alien on Kanata's shoulder
was their means of communication or rather navigation. Best not to judge
him by appearance either as he's like twice Kanata's age and more like a dad.
Unlike the previous after I thought the romance here was actually better
like the scenes they had were very cute and funny. I say... but it did
involve the classic misunderstanding trope. Not sure if I liked or hated it.π
Yukito was quite a wingman or he tried to be one, i'm proud of my best boy.π
I liked Kanata's after more in general and he overthrew Tenma this time.
Overall i'd say the after was pleasant and that's how i'd like to remember Kanata!
even if sometimes Kanata will be Kanata... because he isn't like us humans
but even so he's willing to learn and understand.
~
Yukito.
CV: Suzuki Tatsuhisa.
Honestly while the previous two afters suited the characters
Yukito's is still the normalπ romcom route and I am here for it.
The drama was mostly light too and it was an overall pleasant time.
Tenma was the wingman this time... I couldn't be happier tbh.
There was a new thief in town as well CV: Daisuke Kishio... but even if he tries
he's no match for Yukito! honestly I found this eagle annoying.π
Thankfully Yukito told him a piece of his mind, this... eagle is his cousin Kagari.
Sadly Kagari is hard of hearing and tries to steal Kyoko, I hate it here.π
Dumb drama aside i'd still say the after story was pretty good
like if they had to have some sort of plot this was better than nothing.π
I almost rated this route the same as the OG route since they introduced
a new side character just to be annoying and cause issues but the epilogue
was just so good I gave it a few extra points!
This after is the only one that took me two sessions because of the plot
being what it was so I saved the finale for when I had more energy.
I still love Yukito and he's obv still my bestest boi but the plot made me
unsure whether to laugh or cry.π The ending was great though.π
The epilogue can be extra heartwarming if you love dogs... and you could name a puppy!
its funny if you know a certain other character who's a dog person.
Hmm if I couldn't think of a name Miyabi sounds good, haha.
~
Gai.
CV: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu.
![]() |
| I believe this is a boundary violation. |
and idk who this route is aimed at but it wasn't me.
I like how his message on the title screen is like a warning...
he says if you pick me you better know what you're getting into. π
π
Do you ever play an otome game and are like HELL NO about a LI?
Gai fits into this category for me. Gai coming after Kyoko like that in the OG...
didn't give me good feelings, I know it can be funny but its also kinda scary.
Either way this completely missed its mark for me and I was not the audience.
Maybe there's people that like this sort of... thing but not me.
If you thought Yori or Yang were bad, Gai is like hold my beer.
I'm honestly surprised how Gai remained lowkey for years
because hooboy does this guy think he's the protag now!
Gai definitely belongs in Yachiyo's club along with some others.
Its not like its impossible for me to like a toxic LI, as I did like Miyabi...
but his route flowed naturally and he didn't act like Gai did
in Kyoko's home as if he owns the place, like wtf Gai??!!
I get Gai is hot now and becareful who you call ugly in middle school
but even then I don't feel good about being coerced into a relationship.
The worst part about all this is, Gai just thinks everything is fine and bossing
everyone around, even bullying Satsuki for her hobbies. No... oh no.
Even if its supposed to be hilarious I wasn't laughing.
This leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. I think it would've been fine
if it followed up on the other ending in the original game where Gai
promised to become a man worthy of Kyoko. Instead they continued from
the ending where we made him this way... suppose we reap what we sowed
but Kyoko and everyone else of the household loses their agency, put up with it.
Gai's after certainly is unique... but for me it didn't quite hit the right notes.
Its a miss... *Miyabi voice*
Shinnosuke was really cool in this route though! to Gai he's just hetare.π
If not for our butler Shinnosuke, Gai would have never seen the light.
See he does things right sometimes...π
I kinda just force myself to finish this after or rather I put it on automode and just
rolled my eyes at all the questionable romance. I actually was cheering for Shinnosuke
at a certain point... wait who's side am I on?! Well in the end there's something bittersweet here
but looking at how Gai acted throughout the after the majority was off-putting.
What I liked about the after... the end of it maybe? when Gai was self-reflecting
and Kyoko hugged him, this was the saving grace of the whole after story.
![]() |
| Well okay... water under the bridge! |
Though some things never change... I feel bullied into this. At the very least
Kyoko's personality can somewhat match up to Gai but I don't feel good about it.
Unlike with Kanna and Miyabi... am I weird? maybe.
Oh well I will forgive and forget, live and let live.
Its an otome game afterall, I can choose someone else... like Yukito!π
Always remember that the player is the one who is supposed to choose
and if a LI doesn't suit your taste you can ignore their route.
I think there's a lot of factors that contribute to Gai's after not being great...
and to begin he didn't have much of route in the OG. Gai doesn't even have any
extra CG's for the other scenarios or any presence outside of his own route.
His side story is basically the prologue to his route... so you get one extra CG
of him looking smug as he's going to come after Kyoko when he's 18.π
Either way Gai continues to feel like he's that guy, you forgot had a route
and I didn't find his after to be that funny, it just made me go NOPE.
6.5/10
Well at the end of the day Gai may be just fine... for someone but he's not for me.
~
Shinnosuke.

| Literally me running into Shin's arms after the previous disaster. |
for doing Gai before this. We're back to our regularly scheduled
rom-com without someone strutting around thinking they're the protagonist.
The scenes between them were so cute too! ah we're so back.
Not sure what really was going on in this after though...
but there was a lot of random nonsense.
Shin tries his best but there's a limit to that best and he's simply no Sebastian.
I don't think there was much of a plot but it did give further depth...
it was sad when he fell sick though... but it shows he's not a super human.
I'd say overall I am satisfied and it didn't give me any bad feelings
but a lot of the after was just a giant flashback and reminiscing the past.
Some of it was kind of convenient but their relationship is only stronger now.
I don't really got a lot to write about it but much like in Tenma's case
this after also really gave the route in the original game the finishing touches!
I'm not sure what else they could have done... but I am glad it exists.
The epilogue was kinda random though but it suits this series
like it always has random stuff going on.π
like idk the epilogue was too random and over the top, I was like seriously?!
I do think Glass Heart Princess is at its best when it goes full throttle
and doesn't take itself seriously, not sure about Gai's route tho............
Shin and Kyoko have a shared past which means fair amount of bias
and even tho there is no canon route, this bias can make it seem like one.
I kinda don't like this as it makes it hard to choose anyone else...
this doesn't change that Yukito is my best boy and I enjoyed his route more.π
GHP isn't the only otome who does this... but which one is the best route?that really depends on who's playing it and who they liked more.
8.7/10.
~
There's still other contents such as the resort scenario and triangle dates as well
as some side stories Those are truly bonus contents for when you can't get enough of GHP!
Tenma finally got his cute romantic moment that was absent from his own after
so its worth it to do his events in the resort scenario. Trying to recover all the CG's
for everyone else might be a bit repetitive but there was atleast one scene for everyone
that I liked. Triangle dates are fun but it felt like they were unused ideas
for date events in the first game that they now made a reality.
that it fleshed her out a little more, so she's not just the weird maid with an otaku hobby.
I'm not sure how I feel about it though... but I appreciate the thought that was put in it.
Unfortunately Gai is not included in any of the extra scenarios, maybe this is good...
Gai's really is like that LI who you forget is even part of the package.π
π
They were nice to include him in the harem outcome CG... but Gai was just standing there
in the corner, he had no lines or presence. IDK to be happy or sad about this fact.
~
Fav after: Yukito > Kanata > Shinnosuke & Tenma > Gai.
Fav character: Yukito > Shinnosuke > Kanata & Tenma > Satsuki > Gai.
Final thoughts.
Well I think its an enjoyable FD even if its on the short side.
It doesn't overstay its welcome and knew where to focus its energy.
Whether its to continue the routes with an after story or provide other bonus scenarios.
What's funny is that I unlocked the fullcomp CG after only doing the after stories
so as I went through the other extras I wasn't sure if this was a mistake or something.
It can be satisfying to fully complete this but I won't lie going through resort
multiple times felt a bit repetitive. Atleast every character had one
scene I liked, so I can't even complain much.
Its a fun FD if the mood is right, fun is what glass heart princess excels at.
I do prefer otome with a little more depth and there's only one LI who had that depth, Shin.
Shin probably had the most well-rounded route. Tenma gets an award for most original
with Kanata as runner up. Yukito's route was the most fun to me and he's so cute too.
Sadly I was not able to like Gai that much.. I think not liking Gai should be understandable.
Maybe there's some people who're into the type of romance Gai offered but it wasn't me.
I'd choose any other LI in this game over Gai, idk if that's good or bad.
Maybe I just prefer my jerks as anti-social nerds? π
π
9/10
I don't see a reason to rate it any lower or higher than the OG game.
Needless to say I am grateful for the switch port and being able to play it.
I will definitely remember GHP as a fun rom-com otome game.
As for what's next, probably Matsurika no Kei FD.
Not sure if I want to play any RPG's maybe i've burned out on them
however I do look forward to Kyoto Xanadu! won't force myself
to play anything but Tengoku Struggle does interest me.
I can't decide whether or not I want to play Crazy Chain like at all
and there's too little information on Kimi ni madoi, Kimi ni oboreru.
