Utakata no Uchronia Trail - Review

Genre: VN.
Developer/publisher: Licobits.
Platform: Switch.
Official Site: https://licobits-game.com/uchronia/fd/
Release date: 24-7-2025

You know back when I finished the original game I kinda wondered
if a FD or sequel was already planned since it felt like it was only half a story
and would you look at that? a FD was announced and released like a year later.

Pro's
- Afters were neither too short nor too long.
- Most afters wrapped up the story that the OG started well enough...
- Art was consistent overall.

Con's
- Overall plot in some routes is rather repetitive.
- Story can feel heavy, there's sugar content but not a lot.
- Some afters feel draggy and waste the majority of their runtime.

The OP was as good as the first game was, honestly I really like the singer as well.
The OP of both games Dawn & Deep Blue are so good, even the full versions.

As it is a FD it has after stories for all the LI's routes from the original game.
There's both a normal and a best end... so choices seem to matter here.
There are new routes as well for Hiiragi and Tsuwabuki
as well as another story which was set after the truth end last game.
You can get a mini ending with every LI from the previous game there as well
sadly this doesn't include the new LI from the FD.
The menu where you select which story you'd like to view.

Art was gorgeous and sprites moved a little due live2d, I personally don't really
care about the latter but its a nice touch I guess. Whether a route had
good CG's though varied a lot, I think Tobari drew the short end of the stick.
Yashiro's route had a lot of new backgrounds which were all really good.
Most BGM's felt the same as the original nothing stood out to me except the OP.
The ED was just kind of there I actually skipped it after the 2nd time.

TBH I thought the font was rather tiny, likely not optimized for switch lite.....
There's so many kanji too I was literally squeezing my eyes out.💀 Maybe it was like this
in the OG but I didn't have this problem with Toki no Kizuna's port so the whiplash was rough.

I didn't list this as a con because its likely a me problem but I don't like how there is a start screen
then a separate screen for the logo before the actual main menu shows.
I mean why not just show the logo with the start screen? before the main menu???
its weird design that just makes it clunky to sit through everytime you boot up the game.

Average conversations in this game be like...
The pacing was OK but this game is really slow in general but I am glad
the afters weren't any longer than they were. It also felt more like a sequel than
a FD due to the contents being heavy. Like this just shows how open ended
the OG's endings were... and for some they were not ideal.
I was pretty much deceased by the time Tobari's after was over, thankfully
Yori revived me somewhat but he drove me mad by the end of his own route.💀
Each after/new route only had 5 chapters and it took maybe 5/6 hours to clear them
individually. Due to that it was neither too short or too long, by the time I did the final route
I did feel a bit tired of it all. Let's be real this was a long FD so its not surprising.

Unfortunately there were bugs at release which slightly hindered my enjoyment of the game.
I am pretty sure the another story was meant to be done last but I couldn't do that
due to Awayuki,Tsuyukusa and Hiiragi's after being full of game crashing bugs.
By the time I did get to the bugged routes there was still no patch, so I decided to do
Awayuki's since his was only in chapter 1 unlike Tsuyukusa which had bugs in 2 chapters.
Experiencing wasn't fun but with the context of Awayuki's scene made me laugh somehow...
I was sure it will be fixed sooner or later but it wasn't a good look to have these sort of bugs.
Also like clockwork when I am done with the game a patch appeared.......
okay everyone ya'll can enjoy it now without fear of it crashing.👍

Hmmmm....
Anyway I didn't really like Tobari's after but I liked the ending yet in Yori's after I liked
the majority of the after except the ending... Yashiro's after was generally good
and I loved Tsuwabuki's new route which was an alternative take on Yori's in the OG.
Awayuki's after was mostly good, it didn't leave me nearly deceased as someone else.😒
Tsuyukusa's after was a bit too slow-paced for me but that may've been due his personality.
I suppose you win some and you lose some is how I sum up my experience with this FD.
---
I wasn't the biggest Uta-Chro fan but this FD did was wrap up  what the original game started, sadly
I just wasn't that invested in the general affairs of things but it was by no means a bad FD.
Uta-Chro likes to focus on the big picture and not just the romance, it really varied whether
or not a route balanced this. I suppose it depends on tastes but to me Tobari&Yori's after felt weak.
Though while I understand characters can't always be together there wasn't a whole lot of
romance scenes and what was there was woven into the plot. Hinagiku's just trying her best
which is good but it at times it would also focus on plot or side characters
who somehow still had their own little role to play in the story.
The only characters that suffered with afters were the ones that never really went into the truth
so the story had to go out of its way to go into that... which wasn't all that fun.
There's not a lot of CG's either so that didn't add to the experience either its only
been a year so the artist probably didn't have a lot of time to work on it.
It wasn't a bad FD, even if it wasn't outstanding it was still good.
When I look back at the original... it just feels unfinished so this FD or sequel is much welcome.

TL;DR
Honestly for the most part its a good FD and there were definitely a bunch of route
that I thought were good and its okay if you don't like everything.
I'm walking away from this while liking atleast 3/4 routes, which is more than enough
though if you play FD's mainly for sugar content or more focus on romance this might
disappoint a little because there was still a heavy focus on the plot and slow-life.
It did further expand on the characters and it had moments
that were nice to see so it wasn't all bad if you like the pacing that is.
7/10
After finishing both games I realized UtaChro is actually pretty similar to trails in nature
so I recommend it to people that like slow-life and great worldbuilding
because at the end of the day that's what the UtaChro games are good at.
Also this isn't exactly beginner friendly you need a good grasp of japanese to enjoy it
fully, I saw aksys didn't have many upcoming games but they will likely localize this
and I will be disappointed if it doesn't because the OG really needs this FD.

As for my playorder I started with Tobari but then heard there were bugs
so I adjusted my play order so the ones with the bugs were done later.
 Tobari > Yori > Yashiro > Tsuwabuki > ANOTHER > Awayuki> Tsuyukusa > Hiiragi.

Route babbles after the jump, I will share a few of my fav CG's as well
but no more than 3 per route, if you don't want any spoilers then just stop reading here.

Tobari.
CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko.
Even when he's dying he's so cool! -Hinagiku probably.
Wew lad. I don't know why but while things seem fine there was this heavy tone
right off the bat and it kinda shows that the original game didn't really end on the best of notes.
Or in other words Tobari's after was a firm wake-up call... unfortunately it had
trouble to get going and it felt like a slog at first before it eventually picked up its pace.
Of course Tobari wants to be with her but he has stuff to take care of in the flower district
so he sends her back home to not worry Awayuki too much. Life sorta goes on
and Hinagiku interacts with everyone but... Tobari. BITCH WHERE YA AT?
Though its understandable two people have their own lives, it still felt like he was trying
not to involve Hinagiku in his. In Tobari's defense it felt more like she was chasing him
but the first scene being literally them checking up on each other, cute I guess.
Tobari acted kind of distant which was nerve-racking... especially how it seems like he doesn't
have a lot of time left and that he said he didn't mind spending the remaining time with her.
The after also showed he really cares about Suzune like he's his sister so it more or less
felt like while he was away that he was taking care of his bucket list.
Anyway not like there weren't any sweet moments and they made them count
but it can feel like a trail of crumbs pun intended. All of this is more or less because
of the complex situation Hinaguki and Tobari are in. During the 3rd chapter I started to think
they had no idea what they wanted to do here nor much material to work with so it is what it is.
I can't believe this mothertrucker said that he doesn't want her to forget him. Why is this so heavy?!
Tobari sounded like a depressed man. I guess  this is what end of life care feels like.💀
Though he did apologize for earlier stuff. Tobari wants to make the most of it
so he pretends to give her a pretty engagement ring but he's broke AF but I don't mind
its the feeling that counts here. Hinagiku was looking into stuff which may be related
to those flowers in the greenhouse because what if there's a cure for Tobari's condition?
feels like they had to go out of their way to solve previous plot threads Hinagiku
was also rather sacrificial? which I remember Tobari being pissed off at.
They end up relying on Hiiragi to help save Tobari. Karatachi and his henchmen showed up
during an important meeting and Tobari fought with his life against them, he was as cool as ever. Unfortunately the rest was a giant lore dump focusing on how to go from here just
so Hinagiku can retrieve Hihiirokane. Its not without danger for some reason its got to be her
who goes through an ordeal.  When she wakes up Tobari is waiting for her complaining how
much longer she's going to take but he's grateful she's OK. Tsuyukusa explains they
can now continue their research and the world won't tumble down.
In the best end: Hinagiku is free to go wherever she wants and Tobari joins her.
He wants to get married too... this ending felt too perfect but I'll take anything at this point.💀
Normal end: Life just goes on without Tobari coughing up a lung, hopefully.
Oh dear oh goodness gracious why did I fall for this dumb idiot?!
despite everything I still like him IDK what's wrong with me.
Pacing issues plagued this route, I almost ran out of steam by ch4
but this is where it picked up as it was almost the end.
This route had really heavy undertones it was overbearing, in other
areas it felt like it  was a bit laidback as well. I could literally feel dread
due Tobari's condition so even if there was a mellow vibe I couldn't help but be anxious.
Honestly this after did not feel great, pretty sure that was the point but I did not expect
it to be like this... i'm sorry. Is it normal that I expected more fluff and romance?
not misery porn like the hell is this?! okay it wasn't that bad but it certainly was heavy.
I suppose it suited his character since the OG route never solved his illness issue.
I think I only liked two CG's in this route and there weren't a lot and sometimes
there would be moments I expected them but there wasn't any.
The only other CG I liked was the short story one, the ending one was OK.
6/10
I'm sorry this wasn't great it was just fine. 16 stacks of fine for Tobari's after.💀

Yori.
CV: Eguchi Takuya.
Hahaha... No.
Alright, decided to do Yori's after next cuz the sooner the better! honestly I was kinda
hyped but not sure for what... for Hinagiku to own the shit outta him maybe?
Yori hates parties apparently but Hinagiku drags him along and they seem like they're the perfect couple.
Unfortunately there's stuff they don't know but Yori did compliment Hinagiku on her dress.
Yori's route felt actually quite normal, I am shock. I still couldn't help but watch him like a hawk.
Everything's been going well and Hinagiku has stopped saying that she hates him........
I had reserved a special gif image for him but it was actually not necessary to use it.
Well I do remember saying something Yori's route was one of the more interesting
and it even rings true in the FD. I mean yea Yori is still trash but he's on a leash.😂
Unfortunately there was dread in this route too cuz can we really trust Yori?
I had the feeling he was just playing along, his tone of voice changed a lot.
Speaking of voice Egutaku really did a great job voicing him!
I liked his flashback scene, it was adorable how Tsuwabuki wiped crumbs from Yori's face.
Sadly Yori hated it but Tsuwabuki was still like a good bro to him.
I was about to say things were going too well till some shit happens, they get attacked?
Yori covers her and they're forced into a meeting with the Taijyu which leads to
the truth leaking into Yori's route. I dozed off when they were babbling about
the hihiirokane and the future of itehara but it pretty much boils down to the same thing again.
Yori tries to make a deal with Saku who leads him on that they have to kill the Taijyu
then Yori says there's no need to try and talk to this pipsqueak. Well that was fruitful!
Anyway Hinagiku gets all self-sacrificial so Yori says in a world without you
how the fuck am I suppose to keep living?! and tears started dropping from his face.
He feels hurt and lost so Hinagiku touches his teary eyed face
and says she really did came to love him, she doesn't hate him anymore.
They end up laying a trap for Karatachi who's also after the hihiirokane thing...?
sadly this guy wouldn't hesitate to kill Hinagiku to get it since she has something.
Hiiragi and others try to convince them her sacrifice won't be in vain and may
even turn into a legend. Geez thanks I guess. Hinagiku goes to the inner garden
with the big tree, Yori says he stood up to himself and decides to take his life in his own
hands, now he too will live like he wants to. Yori knows her feelings towards him are fickle.
So he tries to be more responsible. He keeps underestimating her.
Eh that was cute, probably the only good thing that happened in here.
Hinagiku doesn't know what the future will have in store for them but together
it may turn out to be alright. Uh yea I guess the only thing that happened here is that
their feelings for eachother are now much more genuine. Yori doesn't even get it himself
but he admits he's a f@#king liar. They proceed with the ritual or whatever the fuck that was.
Holy shit this is so repetitive I've seen this last route, after doing other routes I realize
why the heck we even doing this? but I guess there's no more options here.........
since if they don't do what they have to the utopia might come crashing down.
Yori says she's gonna be mad at him but he's here of his own choice.
He says he had fun in the short time he spend time with her...
Yori mumbling on after the fact saying there was no reason to stop it
and how he's a f@#king liar for deceiving her, okay then be miserable.💩
For some reason I could imagine him carrying her lifeless corpse
and the camera pans into the sky as he's lamenting everything.
Normal end: None of the above happened it didn't go that far
and life just goes on for the both of them, there was no CG.
If you didn't have enough of him yet you can listen to this sad bitch in the short story.😑
Eh during the route I actually liked Yori a bit more now but then the ending came
and I am just like WTF is this shit?! also the story surrounding the hihiirokane
is just too repetitive cuz it boils down to the same thing, to implement it here was boring.
Like it was handled well in another story but in some individual route the execution is eh.
Romance wise it may be a little bit better than say Tobari's but it wasn't by much.
The ending made me so mad, like come on?! anything but this.
I wasn't sure where to place the short story, like it could have served as an epilogue
but the best end being the way it is, it probably... takes place after the normal end.
Nothing's changed, Yori is just trash afterall for letting this shit happen.💀💀💀
Trash characters get trash endings, he can now permanently join Yachiyo's club.
5/10
Almost a 6/10 but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth I had to drop.
Live footage of Yori being thrown into the trash.

Yashiro.
CV: Kobayashi Chiaki.
After the last two afters I didn't have much expectations but surely
Yashiro will not let his dear princess down right?
It sure was off to a good start so it had that going for it.. he reminds us
that he doesn't mind if Itehara becomes his enemy if its for HER.
AWWW YISSS massive respect points for this dude.
Tsuyukusa complained these two only had eyes for eachother
and were being too lovey dovey and it couldn't be further from the truth.
I'll admit they should keep some of it private cuz they had no shame.
Of course the majority of the time was still spend looking for a solution
to Itehara's predicament which I thought was the boring part.
I liked the sweeter moments with Yashiro but really I was waiting for it to get to the point
like yea they want to be together but its not that easy, they're both from different worlds.
The feeling of hopelessness hit harder in this route... he can't stay with her since
he might endanger her, as we know he targeted the taijyu in his terrorist days.
As he's the illegitimate son of the emperor of ginwan, Hinagiku has the bright idea
that she wants to go there, everyone else is like isn't it just as dangerous
but they roll with it anyway as long as Yashiro's going with her.
Doing nothing is apparently just as bad so why not walk into the danger...
they try to work with Saku, Yori even warns them but Saku has apparently
no reason to bettray them now as he seems to support Yashiro all along??!
They all end up traveling beyond the gate to wherever Yashiro's from, I thought it
was nice they all came along, felt like something was really happening for once.
There was also a change of scenery and it was nice to finally see his hometown
it was so exciting after two routes that were more of the same.
Ginwan is very traditional japanese, steampunk is 404 not found.
When they meet Suou who I thought was the emperor due his appearance but he's
more like a minister, he is rater friendly and actually wanted to re-establish relationships
for a long time because the relationship between ginwaku and itehara hasn't been good.
Apparently these guys haven't been in the loop either..... since they won't be able to meet
the emperor right now they have to go kill some time, Yashiro will be their representative.
Oh apparently they ran into someone that knew Saku but the news wasn't exactly bright.
Something seems to be amiss in Ginwan so they all think about what to do next.
The two of end up using a spring as a footbath which was really cute... its sad that this
was probably the most memorable romantic scene in the whole after.
When it finally gets to the point there has apparently been an outbreak of a sickness
and the emperor was affected, though Awayuki concludes he's still alive
especially with their being preparations for an upcoming festival.
Yashiro wants to be the terrorist he is so he asks everyone to help him if needed.
Apparently Suou attempted to kill the emperor via poison and they all now
will attempt to stop is schemes and save the emperor as well.
Suou played dumb but Yashiro has the upperhand and due Hinagiku being
here as a representative this won't look good in Ginwan's case.
Awayuki and Tobari support them from the shadows. Suou eventually admits it
and he thinks its for the best to force his hand to reform the government.
Yashiro is mad cuz this isn't for him to decide but the people.
They ask if Yashiro wants to see his younger brother but he declines
as he's never met him, they try to insist after everything he's done for them.
In the end Yashiro says he'd like to remain here in Ginwan for a while longer
even though he also would like to be with Hinagiku in Itehara.
So when things calm down here he will come back to her, he promises this firmly.

Before they part ways he leans into her infront of everyone and asks if its
okay they get married and he bids her farewell while Hinagiku is a flustered mess.
Life goes on for her and one day while she remembers the good old days in her
favorite spot she wishes she could see him. A voice then says ''i'm back''.
Yashiro proposes to her like he promises but in the epilogue he's like
how the heck does marriage work here in Itehara which was funny.
Tobari tells him to get his shit together which is even more hilarious but
he helps him out and the two of them finally end up getting married.
The short story was also really good as an additional epilogue
it didn't feel like a random addition like in Tobari's or Yori.
I didn't care about the normal ending so I skipped it.
Yashiro really gets the special treatment here ISTG. The other two afters
I did before him are pale in comparison and just don't hit the same level.
Unfortunately the first half was a bit draggy but the second half was really good.
The ending sequence was perfect and it didn't leave me confused like Yori's.
Just as I thought that it would be more of the same shit actually happens
and we go straight to Ginwan holy baby i'm honestly impressed.
Unfortunately while the outfits looked nice in the ending CG I thought
Yashiro's smile was drawn weird which kinda ruined it.
8.5/10

Tsuwabuki.
CV: Azakami Youhei.
I actually wasn't gonna do any of the new routes till I was done with
the afters but with the bugs being present in the remaining three routes
I decided to just go do Tsuwabuki next. Anyways this branches from
Yori's route in the original which makes a lot of sense since they're half-bro's.
It all started one day Hinagiku saved a kitty cat, he's so formal and polite and then
Tsuwabuki drags her away to take care of her. No wonder Yori disliked him he's been
treated like this even I think this was a bit much like slow your roll my dude!
Unfortunately Yori still had his eyes on her, Karatachi fanned the flames
and was like Yori or Tsuwabuki what difference does it make?
in context of who she would be engaged to. Hinagiku literally stuttered.😂
(Don't mind if I do pick Tsuwabuki...) She didn't have to decide right away she had time.
The investigate the slums and grew a little closer, aaaaa Tsuwabuki is so caring
Yori hates it but let Tsuwabuki take care of me. Goodness Gracious he's so sweet.
Most of the plot in this route was trying to choose between Yori and Tsuwabuki
and Yori is obviously at a disadvantage and he doesn't like this scenario one bit.
A nasty rumor went around which brought the whole mood down.
It affected Hinagiku but Tsuwabuki was so level-headed my faith in him only increased.
Tsuwabuki is a hard worker so they can't spend much time together but they still
enjoyed the festival in their own way away from the crowds.
Yori throw's a hissy fit and says its basically impossible for them to get married anyway
since Tsuwabuki is his half-brother. Tsuwabuki apologizes for covering up this truth.
He says he acted out of personal gain and says he is an ugly person.
Hinagiku decided to cancel her engagement with Yori and Tobari say that's good
since there are better guys than him around. Aww yea love the support here!
She also decides to chase Tsuwabuki despite him being not who he appears
going even so far as saying what Yori said is true. Tsuwabuki sees himself
not  fit to be with someone as Hinagiku. Everything Tsuwabuki is, is a sin.
He thought he'd just be fine with living her and find some basic acceptance in it.
Amidst the self-loathing Hinagiku confesses she likes him, Tsuwabuki tries to stop her
but you can't stop real love. Tsuwabuki accepts it and just abruptly kisses her............
afterwards they go to Hinagiku's favorite spot and talk the night away or so to speak.
After he walks her back home and wishes her goodnight, Yashiro sneaks up on her and says
he wants to talk. Tsuwabuki noticed this and knocked him out. AMAZING SEQUENCE.
Honestly all Yashiro wants to know is where the senka no hanataba place is...
he knows when to cut his losses so he threw in the towel quickly but he still tries to get
what he wants out of it. Tsuwabuki decides to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Yori ends up facing Yashiro since anyone from Ginwan is an enemy in Itehara, Tsuwabuki
tries to stop him and tries to do what he thinks is right. The two brother's end up duking it out.
Yashiro sees his chance and runs, Karatachi out of all people had to break up their bitch fight.
Mostly everything resolves itself and Tsuwabuki has found a new goal to strife for
and Hinagiku realizes she loves this man... Tsuwabuki tries to say no this isn't right
but she just literally throws herself at him, saying that she loves him!
In the epilogue Tsuwabuki sorta gives up on resisting... and accepts it
he will work hard and joins Hinagiku's household. Things get hilarious
now that they're officially engaged so they end up almost making out in an alley.
Tsuwabuki really cherishes her so he gives her a kiss on the forehead.
In the short story Tsuwabuki is still working on his feelings and Hinagiku is his therapist.
She feeds him some treats too and it kind of looked like he was her dog uh this is
starting to sound wrong so I will shut up for now. Honestly Hinagiku is too good for him, lol.
Honestly this route was very wishful of what if they fell in love? Tsuwabuki treated
Hinagiku like the princess she is but I did found him a bit overbearing at times.
This route was hilarious right from the get go and I had a lot of fun here
of course not everything was fun but I really enjoyed this route.
Tsuwabuki had his own struggles but I like this guy way more than Yori
who was just an asshole, I suppose it may depend whether or not
you like the romance on how much Tsuwabuki appeals to someone
but personally? I really enjoyed both the plot and romance here.
Easily one of the best routes in the game. I am respectfully deceased now.
The ending could be better though but... I am really happy with it.
If Tsuwabuki had to compete with Awayuki on how to take care of their princess
I'd believe it would be close but Awayuki would win.

Another Story.
Because of the bugs and there not yet being a patch I decided to do this next
and this among with the routes above were free of them unlike the ones below.
Its set after the truth end of last game  it was rather short and the choices in this
are only to decide which mini ending you get. Yashiro came back after
something happened back in Ginwan. Unfortunately this focused more on that
Hihiirokane nonsense and apparently someone plotted an assasination.
Sounds awfully familiar to what Yashiro tried to do uh or does this go deeper?
Karatachi decides to make himself useful after Sakaki yanks his chain.
Hinagiku decides she wants to get involved in this mess but turns out they need
her anyway and that she is being targeted. Yashiro confirms that the gears
have already started to move in his homeland which is why he's back.
Much like in Yashiro's after they went to Ginwan, most came along
but some remained to watch over Itehara incase something happened.
Along the way they ran into Saku but it appears he has forgotten who he is
and people have called him Sora because he fell from the sky of Itehara.
I remember he fell to his death in the original... I guess he lived eh?
Hinagiku is in shock so he tells her to cheer up and wipes her tears.
The rest was similar to Yashiro's after, we already know Suou is SUS
but it didn't really follow the same plotline as what they came here for is something else.
They find a cave which reacts to the core they with them which opens a door
they're cautious and won't light any fires lest they cause an explosion from lingering gas.
They find a room that looks a lot like the one hidden in Itehara...
there's information relevant to automatons and dealings with Ginwan in the past.
The researcher was regarded as a bit of a witch so he wanted to go further east...
he was afraid of being killed but thought it was OK as long as he had Narukami.
They find all sorts of things and something similar looking to the Hihiirokane
so Tsuyukusa deduces it was made here. Hinagiku finds a box containing a gem.
Hinagiku gets to decide what to do with it, she decides to give it to Narukami
to replace his other gem that acts as his heart. Narukami starts to move again.
unfortunately it doesn't resolve all problems it did solve some
and they might be able to find a cure for Tobari's illness.😭😭😭
Hiiragi decides next time he will be the one to visit Ginwan since they should
restore connection between the two cities. Yashiro decides to chime in on this.
Tobari's end: Hinagiku visits the hanamachi and Tobari ends up playing with a lost kitten.
She figures out he likes cats and well he does, its a great aid for his mental health.
Seems he's doing just fine now that he got his meds and a newly adopted kitten.
Tobari wonders if she thinks the kitten's cute and it is then he compares it to her
though if he really thinks about it Hinagiku is a rank above it. Aaaaaaaaaaaa~~
Hinagiku wants to know more about Tobari so a new adventure could begin here.
There was so much drama about it in his own route but look how happy the man is here.😭
Awayuki end: Life goes on for the two of them, Hinagiku helps him try on another outfit
and seems like she had a new one as well, she'll always look the cutest to him.
From now on he'd like her to continue pick out his outfits as well...
Yashiro end: In this end Hinagiku enjoys a festival in Itehara together with Yashiro.
He tried one of those fish catching games... its harder than it looks really.
It was nice to see them both enjoy themselves... but I wish there were more moments
like this during the story instead of right at the end as a sort of reward.
Yori end: I was already sharpening my knife kupo during his first event in this storyline...
and he was ever the smug bastard we all know and love or hate. Life sorta goes on
and one day she runs into him and calls out to hi--- but he covers her mouth as he
let's her know he's on an undercover mission so don't just yell: Hey Yori over here!
That was random! anyway he's still the same insufferable Yori nothing to see here!
Tsuyukusa end: There's actually another ending that branches from his path
so its best done last.Anyway in the end life goes on and Hinagiku caught Tsuyukusa
red handed trying out some new clothes or something, it was hilarious.
Narukami end: Some scenes with the witch and his automata, this witch is basically
Tsuyukusa and Hiiragi's ancestor and was an alchemist. The witch's inventions
eventually let to the creation of Itehara yet it wasn't a road without failures.
It was him that also made Narukami and gave him his orders to protect the people
and his old name used to be Thor before he left Itehara to him as Narukami.
In the ending Hinagiku spends more time with Narukami and he asks her to meet him at
dawn the next day but not to tell anyone about this as to not cause trouble.
They go to her special place and then he lifts her up as the sun rises.
Due to what she has done he wanted her to show her this scenery of beginnings
which was honestly really sweet of him even tho he's incapable of most emotions.
After clearing another story once you unlock trace box which gives some special
short stories for other side characters as well, I only did Narukami's and his was cute.
I thought this was pretty decent and a good follow up to the truth end in the OG
but this was likely designed to be done last after the player did everything else.
I liked you could get mini endings with the main LI's here but there weren't
any exclusive CG's with them along the way just some relevant to the story
and a few extra scenes with them along the way. Felt like a little bandaid.
Its kinda annoying to do multiple endings here since the scenes
midway felt more like material to kill time with, nothing substantial.
It shouldn't take more than 15ish minutes per ending on repeat plays.

Awayuki,
CV: Saito Souma.
Even after being done with 5 routes there was no patch in sight
and with Mononoke Chigiri crawling closer I just decided to go ahead
and do this route, Awayuki only had one instance where it could crash anyways.
Awayuki is ever the wonderful aide, that hasn't changed. The umbrella scene was sweet
without being too overbearing I could feel warmth from him as he sheltered
Hinagiku from the rain. Honestly that CG has got to be one of the more impressive ones
i've seen in my VN gaming years its simply breathtakingly gorgeous!
Sadly Hinagiku didn't really understand the situation she was in so Aoi
had to explain it to her that she's basically dating her own aide.
Its not really accepted to do this. Though Aoi supports Hinagiku in that she has the right to
love whoever she wants, Aoi just wanted Hinagiku to know it could be seen as problematic.
Though to Awayuki, Hinagiku is his only master and he offers his life to her----- and just then
the game crashed. IMMERSION RUINED! okay very well time to force skip past this bug.
Saying the words I love you Hinagiku, good night was too much for the game to handle.😂
Or more like it took it literally and shut off the game... thank god it was right after a choice I saved at.
The plot was pretty weird? almost turned into ghost busters so I thought they were
desperately trying to keep it interesting. I thought it was cute how Hinagiku tried to
cook and he helped her, she really is a princess who never cut a vegetable before.
Awayuki is so overprotective he doesn't want her to cut herself.
Anyway he loves to prepare food for his princess so he'd rather it stays that way.
Regarding the ghost thing it relates to some kid named Kagetsu
but no real ghosts are involved, it just that he's a bit of a problem child.
Not much else happened but the romance was really there in this after to the point
it felt a bit yabai because it was. Its forbidden for nobles and servants
to be in a relationship like this but it made it kinda exiting? so not a bad thing.
Sadly the family wants Hinagiku to pick a new fiance and get married.
Hinagiku doesn't want to because she's in love with her servant but she can't just say that.
She talks about it with Aoi who cheers her on no matter choice she makes cuz she's her friend.
Awayuki is kind of worried about her since she is faced with an important decision.
Yori still somehow ends up being a little bitch, I somehow still remember what an ass he was
last time guess he should go to jail permanently. The after effects of his shitting can still be felt.
Awayuki doesn't want her to be involve with that jerk face in any way.
The flashback scene was funny because it showed Hinagiku was a real menace
as a kid and Awayuki has really been watching over her ever since, sigh he's so devoted.
Hisame decides to work with Awayuki and despite her feminine appearance she is actually a guy.
Okay uh she uh he had me for a moment there... good to know I guess.
Yashiro pays a surprise visit cuz it had been a while and for some reason Saku as well...
it gets hilarious because Awayukijust thought he wanted no one else to see her being kissed.
Hinagiku then grabbed Awayuki by the collar and told him to kiss her right here and now.
Saku is like well that's the princess for you she understands her aide better than anyone
and Yashiro just sorta shrugs in response... there was no CG but it was certainly awkward.
Some more drama happened and Awayuki being prepared to keep his distance
if it keeps Hinagiku safe. Sadly he's not trying to understand Hinagiku's feelings
so its your favorite miscommunication trope, Hinagiku had to spell it out to him
that this isn't just about what he thinks is best. They try to help Kagetsu's problem
which ultimately involves dealing with Yori because apparently he didn't learn his lesson at all.
Though it felt like most of the problems resolved itself because the characters especially our heroine
were competent. In the epilogue for the best end they return from their adventures in the outside
world and just before they return to Itehara it started snowing. Awayuki keeps her in check
cuz he can't have her go catching colds before they get back home.😂
The short story CG was really nice it was really a casual day were Hinagiku
lounged away on the couch, on his lap no less. Why're you reading like this?!
Awayuki actually looked tired and miserable for keeping up with her whims.
Though he decided to counter attack making her embarrassed.
Oh the drama was lovely in here... well other than that it was an okay story
that suited Awayuki since it brought up a real problem. Atleast the romance
was enjoyable and I didn't have any problems with the pacing.
I'm pretty satisfied with this after! miles better than the first two afters I did.
8/10
Their relationship is basically like this meme of a guy working hard for his beloved.

Tsuyukusa.
CV: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu.
How did we go from this to... an awkward engagement offer 5 hours later?
Unfortunately when I got to this after a patch had yet to come...
but I also didn't feel like jumping into Mononoke Chigiri so I just went for it.
It started out pretty cute with Tsuyukusa sleep talking but then having
a rude awakening as Hinagiku overheard everything. Hahaha.
Life mostly goes on but there's still a mountain of problems.
Karatachi ended up crashing my game this time, sigh those bugs are a real kill joy.
This route was the epitome of slow-life, I don't mind slice of life but this was really
testing my patience lmao. Not much going on but everything's going slow&steady
untill Yori showed his ugly mug and tensions naturally rose. Also Saku's chipmunk voice
is really starting to get on my nerves too, wasn't funny the first time certainly isn't now.
Hinagiku decides to stick her nose into some stuff Saku was blabbing about
but what else is new? with her curious nature its no surprise really.
Hiiragi wants to work together with Kagetsu for a better future of Itehara
seems they had some distant family ties but other than that not much happened.
Whatever romance was there was pretty adorable but there were some awkward moments
but that might be because Tsuyukusa isn't always the most straight-forward guy to begin with.
Second bug happened after they ran into Oboro in the slums and Tobari pulled his gun out
just as Tsuyukusa tried to keep the peace the game crashed. Guess it didn't work eh?💀
There were more politics in this route and it just made me sleepy...
because apparently they found out Tsuyukusa is the brother of the Taijyu
so we got an entire court session full of well political nonsense.
It gets to the point where Hiiragi could end up killed for the stunts the twin's pull
since there can only be one of course. I suppose this was something they had to cover.
Tsuyukusa is confident he'll be able to get through this and work something out
since he doesn't want to repeat what happened in the past. Hinagiku and the others
have a secret meeting of sorts since this is too much for anyone to handle.
Tsuyukusa is hard at work and Awayuki acts as a middleman, he was worried
Hinagiku would accept someones engagement but she just declines everything.
Hinagiku was overjoyed when she got to see him again after what felt like an eternity
but this nerd really is following in his ancestors footsteps.
The trial still went on and Karatachi was a jerk as per usual... honestly it always seems
there's drama in this series just for the sake of it and nothing actually happens
since everyone is so competent that they can resolve things easily. But hey!
you can watch two hot dudes swing their swords at eachother for a few minutes.
After everything is over, Tsuyukusa finally has enough courage to ask Hinagiku to marry him.
She already loves him a lot so there's no reason to refuse... even though more BS
with the Taijyu could happen, he's still relieved she accepted. Aww.
In the epilogue Tsuyukusa almost gets choked when he wakes up
because a little kitten named Hinagiku wanted to get up before him.😄
Wasn't the biggest Tsuyukusa fan, I remember liking the revelations in his route
in the original game. Not a bad character but his after wasn't particularly interesting
unless you really don't mind slow life. I suppose it suited his easy-going character
but then politics entered the chat and the dread of a potential execution killed some vibes.
For some reason this route felt longer too maybe cuz I wanted it to be over.
I also couldn't keep my attention to it as with some of the others route.
Tsuyukusa was pretty darn adorable at times but... that's about it.
I mean 5ish hours just for a stuttering proposal? this ain't it licobits.

Hiiragi.
CV: Toyonoga Toshiyuki.
Awww yea! finally time for the last route and this branched from Tsuyukusa's route in the OG.
Though it seems he did develop some feelings of admiration from the time he spend with
Hinagiku and his twin brother. It became somewhat of an eye opening experience for him.
He has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulder and doesn't have much time for freedom
yet he wants to craft a future where his people are happy. I thought the romance
was pretty adorable from the start, even though it was obvious they couldn't be together much.
Seeing Hiiragi be happy and smile was worth it already. During a trip to the senka
Hinagiku spaced out and fell into the water then she starts to remember...
which leads to Hiiragi explaining they were childhood friends but due to
circumstances had to hide the fact she ever visited the inner garden.
Hiiragi be out chilling with Hina-chan on a fine day but Karatachi yanks his chain
and takes him away... this is just a real good example of how restrictive his life is and that
he truly enjoys every moment he casually spend with Hinagiku. It makes me sad.
I loved the scene where the two of them enjoyed the festival in town
and Hiiragi acted like a curious kid looking at all the things.
He's trapped in a world to fit a role but he never really experienced what it is like
to live in Itehara, Hinagiku has shown him what the world really is like which
only seemed to strengthen his resolve and he loves everyone who lives in it.
LITERALLY HOW THIS ROUTE MAKES ME FEEL.
So the day arrives the Taijyu is supposed to make a speech infront of the people
and they're relieved he's well... Yashiro didn't do shit because Hina-chan is a snitch
the one giving the speech right now is the spare aka Tsuyukusa.
Hiiragi obviously isn't satisfied with the situation and Hinagiku can't hold it in anymore.
Making a world where everyone can be happy isn't easy and Hiiragi carries this burden.
Oh wow the CG's are actually in sync with my own emotions.
Hiiragi wants to stop putting his brother in these kinds of situations that
put his life on the line. He won't hesitate to rely on his friends for help and by friends
he means the princess (?) Awayuki doesn't seem to mind cuz he knows who's boss.
Hiiragi plans to use Senka as a bargaining chip and he will take full responsibility
for everything henchforth, Tobari think he's outta his league so he asks them all to cooperate.
Even Tsuyukusa thinks he's out of his mind but eh Tobari's goals aligns quite nicely so let's go~.
When his bro Tsuyukusa enters the chat, he gets a weird vibe and bad feeling
that emanates from Hiiragi  who says he's doing it all to protect what's dear.
Tsuyukusa ends up getting angry saying that he's way out of line.
Whatever Hiiragi's trying to do, his own brother ain't taking it.
Tobari ends up being the responsible adult and breaks them up...
Hiiragi realizes that he may be a terrible brother for making a mess of things.
Sakaki was apparently killed off-screen, eventually Hiiragi realizes he's
been selfish and too idealistic but still if there's anything he really wants its her.
So he finally says that he's in love with her. You're actually immediately given a choice
here to reply one of them is chotto-a-minute and the other is yes I like you too!
Well I have no ill feelings toward him and do like him so, same!
He's actually not allowed to freely choose who he likes but he doesn't mind.
Even though it hasn't been that long he really fell for Hinagiku.
Apparently her engagement to him was always an option?????????
After this is over he'd like to turn it into a reality. Either way he still wants to save Itehara.
When they find the place where the special flowers are grown, Chidori attacks them
and Shioji got hurt--- which crashed my game. After skipping a bit past the bug it was actually
a pretty epic sequence as everyone fought against the nimble Chidori and a terrorist. Though
nothing else happened as he dipped as soon as Yashiro ran away from here, noice.
Narukami was here as well but he's malfunctioning and the only thing
that they got out of him was that this place is important for Itehari's future.
Chidori snitches on Yashiro about him being from ginwan and his mission.
Hiiragi and Tobari check out the alchemist lair but the latter realizes
two people ain't enough to find anything in here so he leaves.
Hiiragi realize everything in this room is a blessing for Itehara's future.
Hinagiku follows along and Hiiragi expresses his thanks for putting up with him.
He laments the fact he couldn't become Itehara's god because their real god is Narukami.
He'll try his best to think of a better way to save Itehara and with Hinagiku at his side
he's sure they'll find the answer together. Hiiragi decides to involve everyone and let's
Tsuyukusa eat his heart out, he confirms Narukami is broken but that isn't the end.
Drama happens and they have to go to Itehara's core and stop whoever is causing the quakes.
Yashiro and Karatachi are already there oh for some reason their daddy informed
Karatachi of the truth which is why he's here causing trouble with the terrorist Yashiro.
Hiiragi uses talk no jutsu and its super effective, informs Karatachi he's his master.
Karatachi's not quite convinced but weighs the odds, he actually hates Itehara
but Hiiragi could be a good leader?💡 Hiiragi tells him to not kill Yashiro.
LMAO I guess that's what he gets for abandoning Chidori earlier.
All's well that ends well I guess? Hiiragi is able to have his speech but he isn't
wearing a mask anymore and he let's everyone know he's here as their leader.
In the epilogue Hiiragi wants her response to their engagement...
she loves him too much at this point too refuse but she still had to have a chat with
Tsuyukusa since she remembered him liking her too. So she's like thanks for everything.
Get one of the bro's lose another eh? she rushes back to Hiiragi who was doing
his usual duties since she's done thinking about it and just glomps him.
The short story was a nice extra, really cute story of spending time with him
even though he's supposed to be doing his duties. What's hilarious about all this is that
apparently Tsuyukusa confessed to Hina-chan but she just... forgot and got with his bro.
Like damn girl, I get shit happens but damn. Its like that one meme of a guy
and a girl and the dude is looking at another girl. 💀💀💀
---
I thought Hiiragi had an okay new route but it felt kind of simiilar to Tsuyukusa
so half of it felt a bit redundant. However this route had a more gentle feel to it, the burden
Hiiragi carried I could feel it at all times. Like i've only had Hiiragi for a day and a half
but if something happened to him i'd---  is what this route felt like from the beginning.
Hiiragi may not be perfect but who is? I am glad this is my last route as well
but I think they were really stretching it and there wasn't really much new material.
Unfortunately I don't really think I will ever understand Karatachi this dude switches sides
as much as he changes underwear or he's just fickle. Can't tell if he's consistent or inconsistent.
Also wtf was up with Yashiro??? but I guess he still tried to do his mission as much as he was vibing.
7/10
Was about to say this was peak cinema but the ending made me retract that statement
anyway still better than Tobari or Yori's routes and not as slow as Tsuyukusa's.
 ~

Route enjoyment:
Tsuwabuki > Yashiro > Awayuki > Another > Hiiragi > Tobari > Tsuyukusa > Yori.
I guess I liked the majority of Yori's after more but his best end made me angry
and Tobari had a better ending than Yori so it is what it is. I think Tsuyukusa's
route was worse than most but atleast his character wasn't as trash.

Fav character:
Tsuwabuki > Yashiro > Tobari > Awayuki > Hiiragi > Tsuyukusa > Narukami > Yori.
I still like Tobari even if his route wasn't the best, Yashiro is a great character in his own right.
Tsuwabuki takes the crown this round, I really like his whole character.
Yori is the shit, his route tried but yea... you either love or hate this guy and for me
he's last on the list. Like Tobari said: there's better guys around! like that automata guy.

Final Thoughts?!
LMAO... Yori doesn't even fit into the center picture...
This was a pretty decent FD but at the same time it pretty much felt like a sequel
because let's be real some of the contents were far too heavy for a FD.
Some afters like Tobari are more conclusive now and there was some stuff that was nice to see.
However I got the impression Tobari/Yori more or less came down to the same thing...
those afters never really went into the truth so they went out of their way to get it in there.
There's lighthearted stuff but there are also heavy undertones but I think I enjoyed
this FD more than Virche Epic Lycoris. In some routes it did seem like everything
could not be truly happy as some others which actually kind of hurts.
Tobari's after also felt far heavier than most others but everyone had some kind of problem
which just showed how they never really managed to wrap everything up in the original game.
Thankfully the 3rd after I did (Yashiro) was more enjoyable and felt like I was actually playing a FD. Tsuwabuki's new route was also lot of fun though so that kind of makes up for Tobari&Yori's afters.
I thought the fluffy/sugar content was rather low due how plot heavy it could be. Don't think
the length was bad but for an after story it was a bit on the long side. By the time of the final route
I was really done with it which was like 37ish hours in. It did seem like the story was
spinning its wheels at times due to focusing on other characters or delivery/fetch quest.
Overall it wasn't bad or anything, its a solid sequel to the original.
7/10
It just varied whether I enjoyed the afters/routes, Tobari's was pretty grim
and while Yori felt normal at first and I almost thought I liked him
the ending was just rage bait and made me angry. Yashiro's route
felt like it was the only one that actually went places we didn't go before.
The favoritism for the poster boy was there indeed.
Last game I said i'd pick Tsuwabuki over Yori in a heartbeat and that has not changed
oh my god I love this dude, they knew what they were doing when writing his route.😄
Awayuki's route was good but Tsuyukusa's was meh to me, too slow-paced for me.
Hiiragi's route was fine and I appreciate him as a what if option but man...
i'd be lying if I said that guy did not make me feel things.
Alright... there he is! Yori fans rejoice! or not...
If you really liked the original UtaChro you can eat your heart out cuz this game does follow up
on a lot of things, romance is neatly woven into it but route enjoyment may vary.
Also if you like the trails series I really recommend both UtaChro games
or ''Illusion of Itehara'' in english cuz this series has some pretty good
worldbuilding and is really slow-paced in general.
Didn't feel like taking more pictures of this so I zoomed out a bit more.
