Shining Resonance re:frain (PS4 port) announced

This is probably the only JRPG I like enough to bring it back and write a little about it.

The PS4 port will include all DLC content so this will pretty much be the definitive edition
as they will even be enhanching it and add improvements such as being able
to retry after event battles which imo is a god send especially in chapter 7
since you'll be unable to save for a while at the end of it.
The other is making Rinna's AI smarter... well I usually ended up playing as her
in some battles late in the game because it did suck and also take care of my party members. (lol)
There will be a new mode which will allow you to recruit Jenius and Excela at the beginning
I do not know if this will change the story since it would require rewriting the whole game
so I doubt that... its pretty much a wait for more info. They'll also be using a new OP
but if I had to be honestIy prefer the old one more like I feel they only made it for the sake of
this port, when I look at the old one as seen at the end of this post the new one seems messy visually.
I hope it will be localized, the director seems to want to do it since he commented on it
but if they do they'd probably use the PS3 box art or atleast I hope so...

 The limited edition will include:
Game soft.
Art specifically drawn for the box.
Shining magazine fanbook.
Drama CD: The days of the dragon knights.
Theme Song CD: Eien Iro no Aria.(Aria of an endless colour).

I am not mad it includes all DLC content, all of that back when it was released
was so expensive I wrote about how much it would cost  you if buy it all
and well that would be the price of another game but over time they even
put discounts/sales on it which was nice, can't help but mention it
because not many people probable knew about that.
Now people can enjoy the game in one piece (and at higher FPS if you care about that).

Personally I really liked Shining Resonance even if its very much a cliche JRPG
but atleast it had a great cast of characters that join your party and not just waifus, guys too
heck you could even let Yuma date the guys and they had an ending.
I liked the art as well, a lot of people hate on tony take for his same face syndrome
but boy if they knew how many other artist have the same problem... just wow.
I remember Lesty who early on was pretty much an ass, being rather gay towards him at the end. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Most of my favorite RPG's tend to have a mix too much of one side is bad(imo)
I mean even in otome games I'd prefer there to be girls that aren't antagonistic towards the heroine.
The story isn't perfect... nor was the gameplay, its pretty casual and thats fine.
I liked the game enough to buy the soundtrack and art book on release like even
Kirika,Rinna and Excella's figures! nothing against Sonia but I didn't like the one they released
sadly they never did release a figure for Marion... guess she's just not popular
if anything I found he past the most touching and she could be very powerful in battle.
I guess that mini review concludes this post... feels good to write something positive in a while.

Otomate party 2017 roundup

Otomate party 2018 has come and gone so these are the important announcements.

Variable Barricade revived, coming to ps vita and ps4 near you in 2018.
Yay, its not dead! really looking forward to this!

Kurenai no Homura Sanada Ninpou chou, also coming to psv and ps4 in 2018.
IDK kinda getting burned out on old timey games...

Shiro to Kuro no Alice Shinsaku(new work), PS Vita.
Ah it must have done well enough for a FD... or maybe it was planned
since some part felt scattered and endings a little convenient.
Collar x malice unlimited... no platforms.
I do not have high hope, probably means permanent out of jail card
for a certain character, ugh I get sick thinking about this.

Piofiore no Banshou for ps vita.
Post ww1 set in italy there be mafia idk but not excited yet.
Shiritsu Verbara Gakuen ~Versailles no Bara Re*imagination~.
Not familiar with that anime so can't say I am interested in this work
platform wasn't announced but I bet its vita.

Tengai ni mau iki na hana, PS Vita.
Its set in taishou/showa era? not really interested right now...
shares same artist as hanayaki nari / verite.

Cendrillion PhalikA, PS Vita.
The art looks nice and the heroine's cute but idk cinderella theme and all it feels like a trap
could be surprisingly dark so uh more info please?
Charade Maniacs, PS Vita.
Personally this doesn't attract me at all so definite pass unless rave reviews.

Triangle Project, PC seperate volume release.
Oh otomate dabbling in PC territory and try to rip us off in the process
releasing the whole series separately. lol no thanks.

Other news...
Diabolik lovers haunted dark bridal and more:blood bundled together and port to PS4.
Library cross mobage gets anime... much like sengoku nightblood. (me is meh about this)
Another Dance trips PV... well who is actually interested in this? looks so cheap lmao.
Nil admirari anime PV was shown... well atleast they take their time in making it
hopefully at the very least its a 12 ep 24 minute series and not a mini series.

Well it seems otomate is determined to move to PS4 but still has plenty
of PS Vita otome games in the pipe line so its not over yet.
Looking forward to Variable barricade and I will keep an eye out for
Cendrillion PhalikA and Piofiore no Banshou. I will probably get shirotokuro FD
as well but untill new info is revealed most of these titles are in the back of my mind.

Otome Games with Great Heroines

Well its time for one of these because without a decent heroine there would be no
good story for us to enjoy, yeah seriously go think about it.
Otome games aren't all about pretty boys... its the heroine that connects the dots.
There are of course plenty more otome game heroines that I listed but then this list
would be endless so I tried to put heroines whom's games are unlocalized in the spotlight
but that doesn't mean I won't mention a few of them also the order doesn't mean much.

1, Lulu - Wand of Fortune.
Her cheerfulness is infectious! she stays mostly positive despite the situation.
Lulu is just so cute in general and yet oh so badass like for example in Alvaro's route!
Overall I think she's stands out the most compared to the average heroine sadly
in the sequel her cheerfulness is toned down considerably which I think was a shame.

~2 - tie~
2, Cardia Beckford - Code: Realize.
She starts out as a timid girl but she really grows over the course of the game
and thanks to Lupin the gang she learns a few badass moves too, however
she's still very insecure and again without the boys she wouldn't have made it.
~
2, Eve - Yuukyuu no Tierblade.

Can be compared to Cardia so I will tie since they both live in solitude for a long time, granted
Eve has her AI but still... anyway over the course of the game she grows and had to endure too much.
She really shined in some routes such as Yajur or Roh, Eve will hold her ground she shows she's not
about to hand herself over to some yandere fruitcake with a few loose kiwi's.

3, Kasuga Nozomi - Harukanaru toki no naka de 3.
She's just your average highschool girl who isn't afraid to pick up a sword and fight to protect
the things for the things she cares about, she won't sit on her butt when someone locks her up either.
Nozomi just happened to obtain a little bit of power  along the way she no doubt would
wipe the floor with most other Harukanaru heroines, one thing is for sure she's no mary sue.
Nozomi is certainly not afraid to make a certain battle crazed man
want her so much he turns into her personal manslave๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚yep she's quite courageous.
Because of all this it may be hard to relate... she's not exactly a typical girl but I guess
this makes her all the more interesting i'd rather have a proactive heroine than a doormat.
Gotta say I do not like her that much but she kicks ass, I mean who else fought
a battle crazed man to the death to make him want her?
I also find it funny how no one mentions her despite Harutoki 3 being a otomege from 2004
is it because the original harutoki takes the spotlight due to having a 24 ep anime
and long running manga? I wish more people gave Harutoki 3 a chance.

~4 - tie~
4, Hotaru - Geten no Hana.

Hotaru is a shinobi and she strives to be a great one much like Enju below
so I cannot help but tie them together, however Hotaru still has a lot of insecurities
which causes her to hesitate a lot since she is still a girl but this also makes it interesting.
She has to pretend to be a princess and also a Shinobi who lives in the shadows
its only naturally her heart wavers at times, its not easy trying to hide your true self
while doing your mission and maybe finding love.

4, Enju - Hyakka Hyakurou.

At first she's a selfless ninja full of naive dreams but due to story it shattered and gets pulled into a
conspiracy and she grew in some routes more than others but doesn't hold her own life highly
but with support of the guys she'll learn just that and in turn help them TL;DR she's great.

5, Nakayama Hinako - Kenka Bancho Otome.
A girl who under circumstances has to pretend to be a guy and act like a yankee which in turn
means she has to fight other guys because her brother Hikaru is a wuss, sadly most romance
routes treat her like a fragile flower when she's not which brought down potential.
Which is why she is a little lower than others but the friendship route made up for that so eh who cares.

6, Tiana - Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama.
Overall she was a great heroine with a dream, not one to back down and a caring person in general
seriously what more do you want in a heroine? I can't write much
since its been so long but Tiana is definitely out there.

7, Fuyuura Megumi - Getsuei no Kusari.
Megumi is quite independent runs a restaurant and tries hard to get around... she cares a lot for her bro.
I think she's very strong even though often she is at the point of breaking down she's twisted
in her own way but keeps her head high nonetheless, I can't help but put her out there for these facts alone.

8, Sendo Futaba - Trigger Kiss.
I thought she was pretty cool and isn't afraid to speak her mind which often leads to hilarity.
Don't got much to say about her except that she was awesome and deserved more
romantic time with the guys which is sadly what Trigger Kiss lacked.

~9- tie~
8, Kayo - Ken ga Kimi.
She may be a bit of a mary sue/goody two shoes but she can hold her ground and defend herself
if necessary and considering the time period this is great, while she is one of my favs
I have to rank her higher than others because of obvious reasons.

9, Kuga Mikoto - Norn9.
While she is a strong-willed tsundere heroine she hides her weak self behind stubborn barriers of pride.
I think she's interesting... but norn9 isn't exactly one of my favorite otomege's.

10, Yukimura Chizuru - Hakuouki.
I think she is pretty cool considering the setting, she goes out on her own to find her father
knowing the risk, she's lucky to run into the shinsengumi even if she's often saved and for
what its worth I think she's out there especially in the english speaking otome fandom
but even though she is willing to fight she is always being saved, thus causing trouble
for everyone around her which some people could find irritating.
If anything its her courage to find out the truth that people may like more.

11, Violette - Reine Des Fleurs.
As a heroine she's up there for being selfish, I may not have liked her game but she's something else.
I just wish the game wasn't a pain to play, a mystical mumbo jumbo story wise and more fleshed out in certain areas.

Favorite Otome Game Openings

Okay I decided to do one of these, they are not in a particular order but these are my favorites.
Its more of the type I can't skip because A, the song is good  and B, the visual flow goes nicely with the song.
Though just saying do not judge a visual novel as a whole by its opening cinematic...
There are some which I liked such as Clock Zero or Norn9 but they just don't give me
that feeling... so I did not include them most of them are recent games, its a pain to find
good quality of older otomege sometimes especially ps2/psp ones.
 ~

Yuukyuu no Tierblade Lost Chronicle.
Should be obvious why this is included... simply beautiful.

Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama.
Again another that should explain itself...

Wand of Fortune R.
This is such a warm opening...so fluffy and cute.

  Ken ga Kimi.
I think the vita port OP is good too but something just feels more right about the original.

Meiji Tokyo Renka.
Personally I prefer this version of the OP but the others aren't so bad either
its even included in the movie section for the vita port.

Kenka Bancho Otome.
I mean come on doesn't this get you pumped? ๐Ÿ˜

 Period cube.
I may not have liked this game that much but I never skipped the OP, the full ver is pretty good too.

 Collar x Malice.
Should speak for itself...

Suuran Digit.
I never skipped the OP for this either, I liked the flow of it all.
Gotta admit I prefer the OP version of the song... the full version just isn't the same.

Hana Oboro ~Sengoku Den Ranki~,
Need I say more? really I can't bring myself to skip it once.

Geten no Hana.
This one is a bit weird but I like it... the song is the same for both games.

 Oumagatoki Kakuriyo no Enishi.
The game may have been a snoozefest with only two worthwhile routes but I could never bring myself to skip the OP... maybe its the magic of hosoyan.

Eikoku Tantei Mysteria the Crown.
I'm a bit indifferent about it but I don't remember skipping it a lot maybe once or twice.

Amnesia.
I do not like the game that much but it has an excellent OP.

Moshikami.
Uh the game may not have been what I'd like it to be but I never skipped the OP even once if anything it kept me sane but the whole vibe is misleading considering what goes on in it.

Sangoku Rensenki.
After the last trainwreck I had to give you something immensely cute to balance it out.

Code:Realize
Not the biggest MAO fan but its not bad or anything.

 Senjou no Waltz.
I almost forgot but I love Akino+bless4 the OP was pretty good but the actual game not so much,
and I have to add it even if I do not like the game that much it was worth it for Tifalet atleast...
or so I like to believe.

 Scared Rider Xechs rev.
Its a good OP, even if SRX as an otome leaves much to be desired.

Black Wolves Saga.
The moment I saw this in the game I was like wow I couldn't even pull my eyes from the screen.

Getsuei no Kusari Sakuran Paranoia.
This is one of those odd OP's that grows on you while you play the game.
I remember being meh the first time but after going deeper into it I just... welp.

Re:vice[D]
Catchy OP by Nano.

Mahoutsukai to Goshujin-sama.
I liked the OP sadly this was my second and last Quinrose game before they went bankrupt.
These OP's tend to be long so... well it makes sense why they only play once
I liked the overall feel of it though and barely skipped it.

Beyond the Future.
Dat KENN, I'm sorry but the next two are going to be a blast from the past.

Kami Naru Kimi to.
Didn't play this but the OP is so good pretty much makes it clear its a tear jerker.

Desert Kingdom.
I like it but ur probably better off looking at the OP on the official site.
~

As for the last, I am an immense Akiko Shikata fan and well while I have not yet played
Haitaka no Psychelica or Kokuchou for that matter I just had to include both Kokuchou is not by her btw... just Haitaka the former is just really something else.

(Kokuchou)

 (Haitaka)
